Another track that rocks out like this one is "Suzi Wants To Be A Rock Star" by Professor Griff (Public Enemy) off the album Pawns In The Game (1990).
This was when rap artists were starting to experiment with rock in the late 80's and early 90's.
Damn D.C. was the murder and drug capital when this song came out. I remember my cousins from D.C. was talkin about D.C. Scorpio and the crew that was backing him was hustlin that what you call discreet like a muthafucka. These niggas now come out snitchin on the game in they music and ain't touched shit. I miss the days when niggas really kept it real, not that I miss the drugs and violence but when cats walked it like they talked it. PEACE
@joekhaki Hell yeah!! I was in middle school when this came out. I remember back in the 80s when the drugs and murders were so out of control, that DC police were shutting down certain streets between DC & PG County every night @ 8pm sharp. If you were on Sheriff Rd or Wheeler Rd, you had to show them an ID & tell them where you were going. Isht was crazy!! This video brings back a lot of funny memories. I haven't seen a pair of skids in ages...
From '90 , I think. Even taped off Rap City, just like I remember it! Love it! If only Scorpio had better delivery, everything else about this jam -- the lyrics, the video, THE STEPS! -- was absolutely dope!
I was 11 when this came out and I recorded it and paused it when he would backflip. I learned to tuck like that which is much better landing and jump thru your leg front & back which now im rusty as hell now.
YEEAAAAHH! Thank you so much for posting this. I recorded this off of "Yo Raps" back in the day (which I don't have anymore). I've been checking Youtube for a few years to see if somebody would post this.
Now this Is What Hip Hop Was About. D.C. SCORPIO was ahead of His Time and Right on Point. Because Brothers in the Rap Game Now thinks its cool to be A Hustler.LOL
This is one of the ways rap fought back against the introduction of "crack" in urban communities. This was the out cry from the community. This song is just one very good example of what the community was up against in the 80's. Had it not been for artist like this the entire community may have been reduced to drug addicts. Dont believe the hype!/ Peace to dc scorpio
Damn! I forgot about this one.

I still play this track 23 years after it came out. It just goes too hard...the beat, the lyrical flow...the late 80's were THE SHIT.
I'm still trying to find Part I....been looking for that forever.
