Recently...reintroduced to this epic legendary sound at the Mecca,Ritz and Parkers reunion Sir Searlings gig at the Dunkenhalgh....where i had my wedding reception 31 years ago....we lasted 20years by the way.. she had a.vile Scottish temper....not to say that i havent many faults.....but i had to goodbye to my lady...any other ladys..fit trendy Soulful want to take there place...ha!ha! A classic tune. Do i remember this right. northern, and jazz-funk in the same room? !! By this point i had stopped going to the casino, and come down on the mecca side of the music. 2 styles of music ,1 bouncy dancefloor, i was allover the place. Went to an allnighter there 4 years ago, after a gap of 25 years and kept looking at the dancefloor thinking this cant be right! they've changed the place and old springy's gone!! this tune reminds me of a brilliant time.

Ive never seen a dance floor bounce so much as the one at the Ritz alldayers in Manchester in my life ...how it never collapsed is a miracle ..even the tables surrounding it used to move up and down ...lol

The classic sound of Manchesters Ritz All-dayers circa 1975/6 - chasing rainbows on a Sunday afternoon . Danny Mitchell's vocals still sound as good today as they did 33 years ago . Probably , along with Brainstorm's "Wake up and be somebody", the biggest New York Stompers at the Mecca/Ritz

I envy you mate : I only just got to the Ritz in Oct 1978 as a 13 yr old .lasted precisely 60 mins before those Bouncers got hold of me . But in those 60 mins .... Le Freak -Chic ; Spread Love: Al Hudson ; Runaway Love -Linda Clifford !!!!
