I notice that you don't mention Irving's libel case against American historian Deborah Lipstadt and Penguin Books in 1996. Irving was proved to be, in open court, not only a man who deliberately lied in his books to further his political agenda, but was also proved to have manufactured evidence for the same purpose. His academic reputation in tatters, Irving was reduced to living off royalties and lecture tours.
The article mentions nothing of this. Why?

And when did this retrial occur? Mr Irving lost his job, reputation and fortune as a direct result of this case. He has not been rehabilitated, despite this putative 'retrial'. @TheNonConformative Lipstadt DID NOT NEED to call any (very old) Holocaust survivors to the court. You know why, shmock (this means "short penis" in Yiddish) ? Because after David Irving have been shown the personal journal of Eichmann (the war criminal that was hanged in Israel), it was already obvious that David Irving was going to lose his libel court case. As simple as that.
