I have to say, I think this vershion was a lttle more creepy than the Japanese one. I like how for one; she seemed a bit more faster in this one, and the fact that she was drenched head to toe. Also, her rotting skin made it look like she had been in the bottom of a well for years. And then the way she flickered like a staticy TV, as if she were only a part of the Tape, and not real at all! I don't know. Both are great. I just prefer this one.

Even if you don't have a TV, she'll still be able to kill if you have any other reflective surface. A mirror, a glass bowl, a picture frame, water glasses, your glasses/contact lenses, etc. The TV's just one way for her to kill you. You could run away to a place with none of these surfaces (like there are any places to run away to). That, or just stay in a TV shop with tons of other people and have a Scooby-Doo-esque chase scene.
