@JackieMercer Whether rock, metal or blues, his tone, technique and above all the passion he showed were second to none, not to mention his gift for songwriting, and seemingly being unaffected by all the usual rock star bullshit. He was, and is a hero worth having, a genuine artist and musician in every sense. I'm still in shock that he is gone, but if nothing else his passing has made me more determined to be the best I can be, if I even achieve 1% of what he did I would be a happy man

But he can also be a aggressive technically advanced high speed shredder, who can match other shredders like Buckethead, Malmsteen........ anytime. I used to think the same, but now I'm older I realise this isn't true. Gary is a more intense and fast player but when Eric is on form his playing touches me deeper than just about anyone. Still would love to see them both play together

This guitar that Gary is playing was once owned by Peter Green of the old Fleetwood Mac before they went pop... It's in the right hands here. I never heard anybody rip out the sustain notes on a Les Paul like Mr. Moore does. (Except maybe Carlos Santana)

This Les Paul isn't the one he got from Peter Green. He plays it later on this show on The Thrill is Gone with BB King - it's a paler colour and has the neck pickup reversed

Very correct niallmcd74...if you notice the '59 he got from Peter also still has the pickup covers still on it. I think this is another '59 though there are some telling signs...mainly the tailpiece is in line to bisect the two volume knobs...nice guitars in any event.

I couldn't tell you what pedal he's using in the video but i know Gary uses an Ibanez tubescreamer ts-10 in a lot of his live performances and studio recordings.

He's one of kind and my favourite guitar player, no one comes close to his tone, soul, feel and aggression.
