I like this version of AVAST (4.8) because you can run a boot scan. It's easy to use and I get to use it free for 1 full year.

Use Windows Adavnced Care 3 + Avast +firefox with adblock = OMG what happened to all the virus's.

Also if you try this combination out and your on vista then use windows defender as well. Windows defender is a extra malware program that windows gives to vista and windows 7 users so use it.

nah, he uses something called a Virtual Machine, which is a program that is a computer sandboxed, meaning that he can test out whatever and not effect the actual computer. Neat, but expensive i think.

avast is pretty good except that when your doing a scan and finds an infected file, it stops the scan untill you take action. i leave it over night to scan while im sleeping and i wake up seeing it stuck on 3% because of an alert.

You and your supporters are quite naive. Your so called tests are amateurish. If you want scientific analyses go to Virus Bulletin or AV-Comparatives websites. There you can find some clues which are the best anti virus software. You are just grabbing some malware and test different scanners against those, but there are a millions of them. Avast is doing very well in tests on mentioned sites. But if you take into account all the futures Avast supports, it might even be the best. A crank!

The comparisons between the different softwares are not accurate because u should compare the removal and detection of the various AntiMalware against the same set of viruses. Besides, ideally the tests should be ran the same day, so that the there's no update difference between the softwares. That's why I mostly trust av comparatives results. I do respect an appreciate what is done here, and it is valuable, but not entirely scientific or accurate. Best regards and keep up the good work.

did u check the ones that were ticked for pro and the ones that wasnt ticked for the home4.8...that should answer your question...PRO has some additional features and it is just a matter of making money, since 80% of the people would buy a product since people dont know about antivirus stuff

Avast when detect a virus and you are sure you got other virus then do full scan + bootscan and im sure you will be safe. Avast is a great product this guy im 100 % sure he didnt updated his virus base 100 % sure because Avast wont let you down
