  • I have JIMMY and it's one of the best musicals ever. I have spoken. Three songs were published from Jimmy and I have them, too.

  • An actor who cuts a record and can actually sing! Who would've believed it?

  • I didn't know he had a sister. I know that his kid brother died at the age of fifteen, after being hit by a car when Frank was just seventeen. As much as I fuss with my two brothers, I wouldn't want either one of them to go like that.

  • Great talent. But for a misterious reason never had the recognisition others had. I didn´t know he had a great voice to sing. As a actor and an impersonator I know he was very good. Great song because of your voice. Great Frank. Dean and Sammy Davis Jr great too.

  • Where the hell can I get the CD?

Nonesuch records doesn't have it on their website!

  • I had NO idea he could sing!

Hard to believe he had that kind of voice with all of the smoking he did.

  • He was way ahead of his time as the Riddler. He was way wacked out!

  • This is a lovely song, Please post the full version. Anorak!!! I know, but my ears need the last drop of that song. Thanks for posting this song on youtube.

  • @thevgmk1 I posted the whole song, but for some reason, the last twelve seconds were cut when I uploaded it in Youtube.

  • WHADDAYA MEAN "GOLDEN THROAT"?!? He could actually SING!!! And some damn FINE singin',too!

  • Back seat music....always gets you in there.

  • this doesnt really seem bad to me...i think its up there with david souls song which was good so idk

  • WOW. Normally the Golden Throats are just terrible. This is pretty... good!

  • Hey Kids!! It's The REAL Riddler himself Frank Gorshin.

  • A GREAT GUY....JACK ENGLISH...WEST HOLLYWOOD

  • Needs a martini glass to go with that "nail". God love the 60's.

  • 1966.....can you remember? No moon landing yet. Vietnam war still looked winnable. No Watergate yet, we still believed in our government. Transistor radios were a big deal. Our television was a tiny little black and white unit that put out ghostly double images. Bad vacuum tubes. On a clear night when the atmosphere was steady, we were havin a good time. We went off to visit relatives in the city and because it was hot, we left our doors and windows wide open. Air conditioning was for the rich.

  • I remember seeing Mr. Gorshin singing Chicago's "Does Anyone Really Know What Time It Is?" on some TV show many years ago. I was surprise by how excellent he was. 'Twas a very powerful performance.

  • Side 1 was "The Riddler." "Never Let Her Go" was written by David A. Gates.

  • I was watching the Dean Martin roast and fell on this. Man i never knew he recorded any music. He has a amazing voice. Thank you for the share.

  • pretty song

  • great talent and...the best riddler ever...not even a close 2nd....

  • This guy was a joy to watch and when you compare him, Frank, Dean, Sammy and the rest there isn't an ENTERTAINER today that can compare to them. These guys gave you the greatest bang for your buck.

  • My hero. THE best impressionist EVER!

And I do it for a living.

    RIP Frank.

  • @throstle67 Having been a friend of Frank's since 1958, can assure ALL, that what you saw, was Frank,on and off-stage. The warmest, sincerest, friendliest, caring and underestimated human-being EVER!!!!!

  • @Tony7840 : Loved to watch Frank. The best ever! Question, if you please - What did he say that was so funny on ed sullivan imitating, Peter Lorre? Any Idea?

  • His natural voice actually sounds a bit like Kirk Dougas, which is interesting 'cuz that was one of his most famous impressions.

  • Didn't this song get some airplay in the late 60's?

I know I've heard this beautiful song before, when I was a little kid. Wow. Cool song.

  • His singing ain't bad. You can always tell an A&M record by the horns and strings

  • @herbertkearse Sorry, but...A&M was unique!!! You could never know what to expect from Alpert and Moss (A&M).

  • Damn, I was all set to make fun of this but he can actually sing.

  • I had no idea he could sing!

  • Good song indeed, but I still prefer the flipside.

  • usually golden throats in ref to actors that sing usually means the stink, like bill shatner, but this guy is pretty good

  • I wish I had seen him in Vegas for one of his shows. He's not received the due credit this multi talented man deserves. He remind me of Sammy Davis Jr, who also was not accorded proper recognition for his impersatations. Both were great!

  • He did a hilarious Kirk Douglas imitation too

  • Frank Gorshin was under appreciated

in his day, but MAN O MAN, he was the most talented comic and mime there

ever was. His Burt Lancaster and Richard Burton impressions were the

    world's greatest! No one compares 2 U!

  • @lionsgate12345 Frank Gorshin and Dean Martin were under appreciated. Mostly Frank, you are right. On Dean Martin Roast (Sammy Davis Jr.) Dean and Don Rickles they laugh like if there´s no tomorrow. I never see Don Rickles laugh at public like that.

  • I had no idea he could sing! This is a wonderful delightful surprise!

  • You know in hindsight, they could've done a Batman episode where the Riddler tricked girls with his voice as a singer to rob something -- especially with this song.

  • Most impressions are good singers,

    but you are right:

    It is a wonderful surprise.

  • The only way I can sing is to do an impression. My singing voice is awful. But yet my friends are amazed when I imitate someone. At the same time, don't look for me on any TV talent shows!

  • Hi Stan.

I bet you are probably a good singer,

    if you can do impressions.

All the best to you Sir.

  • Wow! The late great Mr Gorshin had a pretty good singing voice. Quite a multi-talented chap, to say the least (actor, impressionist, singer, etc). This was a delight to listen to....thanks for sharing!

  • incredible! one of my very favourite comics/impressionists can sing - and I LOVE this song from '61--if Frank Gorshin did in fact sing this song, I am rather impressed!!

  • Shockingly "The Riddler" can actually sing.

  • ...and round my way the children all say...

    RIDDLER!

  • he sings burt baccarach well

  • Im surprise this wasnt a hit how many song did he sing?

  • You made my day. I stumbled onto your video and just love the song, the man and his great talent. Brings back lots of good memories. Thanks so much for posting!

  • He was very talented. His famous laugh on Batman used to make my ribs hurt from my laughing. Some of you over 40 might remember the late 1970s movie "Sky Hiest" in which he played a villain that stole a huge amount of loot under the noses of police. Pretty good movie for its time.

  • Wow this is pretty good. I didn't know he sang.

  • Wow! Cool! Definitely not a bad song. "Never Let Her Go" is just the kind of sixties thing I like. Too bad it wasn't a big hit back then. Wish it was on cd.

  • Frank is such a great singer its a shame they dont have him on cds.

  • He was in a Broadway musical in 1969, "Jimmy," in which he played Jimmy Walker, the mayor of New York from the 1930's. There was an album of the show in which he sang about a half dozen songs. I have it.. It's pretty good. He was a favorite of mine too.

  • He was also in another musical called "Girl Crazy". There's a CD of this, released by Nonesuch Records. Apparently, "Jimmy" is not available on CD.

  • My copy is still sealed. Would not trade it for the world.

  • @sstephen1201 Luckily, I still have the SEALED vinyl LP of "Jimmy." Will NEVER let go of it, as, Frank was my late son's Godfather.

  • @Tony7840

I managed to get the soundtrack for "Jimmy" from CDuniverse, on mp3 download. Only one or two songs didn't go through, but I got the tracks I wanted.

The "Squabble Song" was just a riot! He and Anita really did sound like an old married/unmarried couple.

How in the heck did you ever meet him?

  • Greatest impressionist that ever lived, quality over quantity. Most people know him as "The Riddler", but when I was young, I would watch him on Sullivan and he was just amazing. His Kirk Douglas, Burt Lancaster and Richard Widmark impressions were sick. I'm sure he had a pretty good career by most standards, but I don't think he was as big as he should have been. Amazing talent. I wish I could turn it back to '68 and tune in Sullivan to see him once more.

  • Having been a friend of Frank's since 1959 until his death two years ago (he also was my late son's Godfather), I can ensure all, that Frank only recorded, this one single. Therefore, no CD. Am saddened too.

  • Tony - I adore Frank!! I have a tribute site for him on MYSPACE. The flip side of this record was THE RIDDLER. He also had a 45 called THE TROUBLE WITH LOVE and SHE WENT RIGHT ON DANCING (I have it), there's also a 45 on THE STORY OF JESSE JAMES. I'd love to talk (email) with you about Frank - he was AMAZING.

His sister, Dottie, is a sweetheart too.

    Elaine M. Las Vegas, NV

  • Attempted to contact you via "MySpace," however, unable to.........

  • Where can you buy a cd of him.

  • This is not an album, but a single record. "Never let her go" is in the side B.

  • But do you know if they sell cd's of him.

  • Unfortunately, CD's are not available.

  • I got get a cd of his music.

  • Good singing..

    a very good song..

This should have been as big of a hit as Mr. Gorshin was on TV and films!

    Thanks for the post.
