Hi, does this piano have velocity sensitivity? (Does it sound louder when you hit harder or sound softer if you hit it softer?). I'd like to buy one for myself if it is. Dream cheaky claims to be velocity sensitive but only works with windows and has only 49 keys. Thanks!
Yes, this Yamano keyboard has velocity sensitivity for some sounds, like the piano sounds. But not really on the synth or strings sounds. There are different brands with 49keys, but they will only play 3 or 4 notes at a time. They actually played like toys. I sent them back and ended up with the 5 octive Yamano Roller Piano (61keys). It's still not a real keyboard, plays very stiff, but fun to play with! I hope this helps.
@faithmusic9 Hi faithmusic9. Thanks a lot for the very informative response. I've been looking for this feature in the advertisements. I don't expect it to be as good with non-rollable conventional ones. But I think that is better than nothing, especially for a musically inclined guy like me who is abroad and always on the move. Actually, I don't think I would be using other tones either, since I prefer the grand piano/electric piano tones. Sorry for the doubled question btw. Happy playing! :)
Hi again, I'm glad my info was a bit helpful. With the piano sounds, acoustic and electric, you really have to lean on the keys so you don't get a "double note" effect. Some of the synth and strings sounds sound smoother when played. The sound I used on this video was a synth sound which sounds pretty smooth. Check out my video Take Me To The Pilot which I played using the piano sound. I played pretty hard to make it sound clean. Enjoy!

It's still not a real keyboard, plays very stiff, but fun to play with! I hope this helps.
@MyLylya1 - Hi, I bought a 49 key rollup piano and I wasn't happy with it. The one I bought could only play 3 notes at the same time. But then I bought a 61 key rollup and I could hold down more than 3 notes at a time.
This keyboard has many sounds, but like I mentioned before the piano sound and the other similar sounds play choppy. You have to really lean on the notes to have them play smoothly. Synth sounds like the one I used works best. I hope this helps, and thanks for watching!!! 8-{-
Well I found this Yamano roll up piano... but I dont want to pay 100$ + shipping (because I live in greece) for an elastic fun piano...
Do you know were to find this certain model on a more serious price? I mean its just a piece of plastic with some diods... to manufacture it would cost less than 15$....
Also do you know if I could use 3rd party software that are meant to be used with real piano keyboards? or its not combatible? does it come with its own software?
If you check ebay, you might find it at a lower price.
This keyboard has its own built in keyboard sounds and drum loops. Some of the keyboard sounds are interesting. This keyboard also has a midi out, so you can connect and trigger outboard modules or other keyboards. Hope this helps.
Hey, how are you. I've noticed there are many different roll up pianos out there. The one I have I can play 8 notes at one time, which I really don't do. But I did check that for you. As you can see on my videos I can play this roll up piano playing octive bass while playing chords like you would do on any keyboard. But I've also experienced a cheaper model with 4 octives that only play up to3 notes at one time. My first roll up piano was a cheap version that I couldn't even play. Good luck.
I think about buying one, but i wonder if you can really play with this type of piano ...

@clairedlv - This type of keyboard is really just something to play around with. Home use. I wouldn't really gig with it.. ;-)
Thanks for listening!!!

How many notes can you play at one time? I've read that you can only play 4 but after watching your vids, that's obviously not true.

Very well demonstrated. What is the name of the music you are playing? Thanks.

Hi. Thanks for your comment. The music I played is an original piece I wrote for this demo. Thanks again.
faithmusic9 2 years ago
Well done. It is impressive. I'm disappointed now because I wanted to play it on my own keyboard.
johnsoncp13 2 years ago
You can play it my friend, just as long as you say it's written by Joe Cruz. : )
Thanks.

Thank you Joe. Regards, Chris
