I think the death penalty should be applied very carefully...but at the same time, Florida's death row roster is comprised of individuals that have been on there since ca. 1975...SC has several that have been on since the mid-late 80s...

@kajakpaddler92 i work in the medical field.seen and taken care of many gsw's to the head. not as long as the brain stem was ok. and there was a medical team waiting to harvest the organs.alot of people survive gsw's to the head. i mean alot.i have taken care in my 15 years of probably 50-60. a couple were found and ended up in a nursing home for the rest of their life.and they were young 13-18.so take that back to your biochem class.

So after they applied the death penalty to the last of the violent criminals they let the law be instituted. Passing the law against capital punishment was a requirement to join the european community. The death penalty still applies to treason and military offences. The death penalty is a good thing in my opinion.re efficient and fast ways to end the prisoners life, such as Lethal Injection. If done properly, it can take less than 5 minutes and the prisoner feels nothing. Electric chair was effective and fairly fast, but painful for the prisoner. We are removing bad people from the world. I do NOT agree with torture though.

Florida killed many an inmate in around 34 seconds. At least I hope so, as they were carted off to the autopsy room afterwards.
I am not against the death penalty but I think a person on death row should be given the choice of which method to use. If I was on death row and had the option, I would choose a large caliber hollow point to be shot from right to left through my skull, a little above and a little to the front of my ear. The suicidal success rate of this bullet path is the best. Needles, poisons, and giant bug zappers are unessecarily cruel.

So after they applied the death penalty to the last of the violent criminals they let the law be instituted. Passing the law against capital punishment was a requirement to join the european community. The death penalty still applies to treason and military offences. The death penalty is a good thing in my opinion.re efficient and fast ways to end the prisoners life, such as Lethal Injection. If done properly, it can take less than 5 minutes and the prisoner feels nothing. Electric chair was effective and fairly fast, but painful for the prisoner. We are removing bad people from the world. I do NOT agree with torture though.

@brians235 If it takes several minutes to become unconscious at 2000V, every executee would have required multiple cycles, since no state ever applied one cycle of more than 2 minutes. Florida killed many an inmate in around 34 seconds. At least I hope so, as they were carted off to the autopsy room afterwards.

I am not against the death penalty but I think a person on death row should be given the choice of which method to use. If I was on death row and had the option, I would choose a large caliber hollow point to be shot from right to left through my skull, a little above and a little to the front of my ear. The suicidal success rate of this bullet path is the best. Needles, poisons, and giant bug zappers are unessecarily cruel.

@john17972 given the choice?? why??? they didnt give a choice to their victims. and now all of the sudden we let them chose? excuse me this is not a buffet. If they want choices? they have the choice not to kill anyone else. but once they do they forfeit the right to chose what type of death should be given to them.

i stand firm on the death penalty. life is given and taken only by God, be it whatever religion u belief in. And eye for and eye, a life for a life. its simple. doesnt take u a PhD to understand that.
to the murdered, it was unexpected. but to the one who is going to be executed, its so much more fun cos u knw when u are gonna be executed, and how. so u literally are counting your days. Plus, u knw when u are gonna die.
A tough pill to swallow, but hey, thats life. Welcome to reality!

millions of animals need to be exiled from the world , we the taxpayers are spending about 60,000 a year to house these animals ??? Thats insane , and we are already taxed to death with welfare and raising them before they grow up ( not all ) but vast major now , there are plenty of islands you could through them on and leave them DONE

No I Don't Agree With You! I am all for the death penalty regardless how it is carried out. To be honest the people who want to murder elders, children, their peers honestly should have to die the way they killed their victims and not in some humane way such as your pictures. The states should put in a express lane and as soon as they are sentenced, they are dead.

@gracemax49 I agree with you on being all for the death penalty, but not regardless of how it's carried out. You see, it absolutely HAS to be by electric chair. Lethal injection just doesn't have that same mystique and awe-inspiring tradition that has been instilled into the electric chair. the horror, the dread, the anticipation, the routine, the unknown. Even the gas chamber can't compete.
Nope, all capital felons MUST be dispatched by the tried-and-trusted, traditional, electric chair.

@CapitalFelon Gotta love "old sparky"! :):) Since I made that statement i've had to do extensive research on the electric chair for an informative speech for college....tis very interesting! I know most people are afraid of the electric chair therefore i agree with you that it must be used! Glad to see somebody else values my opinion!

@gracemax49 Hey, I have photos of EVERY electric chair ever used! Even the Philippines chair, photos of which are VERY rare. I have photos of real executions of 3 capital felons - no fakes. I'd be delighted to share them with you if you like. You could do a Powerpoint, comparing them all.

If you want some facts: all states do it differently. Different voltages, different legs, different time sequences - nobody knows what they're doing. Florida have done a "Green Mile" on 2 capital felons - Medina and Tafero. Broken chairs, Willie Francis, Horace Dunkins, Allen Lee Davis, John Evans - Google them for some good info.

Getting rid of the death penalty was the biggest mistake the UK ever made. We delude ourselves into thinking we are a civilised society because we abolished it but instead we have soft sentences and criminals laughing at the law....oh and more than our fair share of brutal, senseless muders that destroy families. If the guilt is proven, execute...ya dont wanne be executed, dont muder people....how does that sound????
