• i love it when kanye, or common talk about her in her raps! :)

  • She is better than amazing...I cannot put it into words (-: My heart is smiling right now

  • We really need more women like Ms. Angelou...

  • She is so very wonderful, I hope that all of us humans can use our words to comfort and uplift, and I do pray we can live up to our birthright of greatness!

  • your comment is ignorant. do you not understand her words?

  • her face is dirty what the hell? did she rub dirt on her face. she sounds ignorant

  • @howe5529 You're the one that's ignorant and blind as well. You're a 45 year old person, maybe you should get a better meaning of life because sitting behind a computer making immature and irrelevant comments on videos.. just doesn't cut it. Get your life together, buddy.

  • Love her so much :) she's a smart, kind, very real person. it's refreshing to see that.

  • She is so right! No one should be allowed to degrade others just because their profession makes it seem like it is ok.

  • LETS TALK HUMAN TO HUMAN, MAN TO MAN WOMAN TO WOMAN.

  • is Don Imus racists or just being vulgar..

  • She is beautiful!

  • What a Class Act !!!!

  • SPEAK MAYA!! SPEAK!!! YES!!!

  • Maya Angelou, distinguished Marxist,Communist and hack I t baffles mr how people can look up to these kommisars of Slavery. I'm an American ands that means I am free to express my opinion regardless if its not politically correct. I can choose to dislike anything that I feel is a threat to my way of life and culture and most of all a threat to my FREEDOM. thats what these socialist screwballsrepresent to me. Yeahh! Don Imus. Don't cave in to these enemies of freedom

  • @OldMrMemories Where did you get the idea that Dr. Maya Angelou was a Marxist, Communist, socialist or anything like that? All that she was saying is, and she said it repedily, was that vulgarity is vulgarity. That's it! And that is one of the most honest truths that I've ever heard. And, about that pc thing you mentioned. You can be politicaly incorrect without being racist or vulgar. I do it all the time. In fact, you could say that's how I live my life!

  • @superlane1990 Where did I get that idea? You've gotta be kidding. She espouses all the ideals of socialism. You really need to read up your history on her friend. I don't even think she denies being a communist or what they like to be called "Social Progressive"

  • @OldMrMemories Rediculous. Unbelievably rediculous. There is nothing more that can be said about your comment. My God. You're not even owed THAT much! Whew.

  • @OldMrMemories Rediculous! Unbelievably rediculous. There is nothing more that can be said about your comment. My God. You're not even owed THAT much of a response. Wow forgive me, but ignorance run rampant is the best I can say.

  • @MusicEd1 It's only ridiculous and ignorant when it doesn't agree with your worldview. We're on two opposite sides of the spectrum pal which makes us enemies so we will never agree. The only solution would be to meet on the field of battle one day.

  • @OldMrMemories You want to meet on the field of battle one day...really?! What will you do on this field, bore me to death with more ignorance?! We're enemies are we? Uh...okay, if you say so. lol Good grief man, who writes your dialogue, Mad magazine?! Well, I'll just rest up then and make sure to shine my trusty suit of armor and ready my sling shot. Maybe I can even rent a horse for the day. Ya think? I mean just to look authentic on the battle field I mean. lol Peace brother. : )

  • @OldMrMemories you r very much free 2 express your opinion,Yes, u can choose 2 dislike things, but how do you feel like hair is a threat 2 your WHOLE way life lol ? If you were living your life instead of trying to demean someone else, u could see that there is more 2 life, 2 this country then 2 go around n hate. I'll pray n hope that it gives u peace, n the FREEDOM to enjoy this world n peace 2 embrace the differences. Fun fact: Flowers come and many different color, shapes, n sizes :)

  • @MEANCRACKEN2 Yes.. has to be done very early in the morning.

  • @KingsleyEnnis1: White scientists trying to develop a vaccine against hepatatis B, forcebly injected hundreds of Congolese people with vaccines grown inside HIV- infected chimpansees, and that started AIDS. As usual it was white people that inflicted this terror on the earth...

  • How have we come so late and lonely to this place?

    -Maya (love her!)

  • Maya Angelou is a true American treasure.

  • Maya, is my shero! I think she is correct in her assessment that hatefulness from anyone especially those of your own culture is hurtful and degrading. Sometimes those these things happen so that we can have dialoge

  • What an awesome soul that woman has.

  • There is something very special about Maya Angelou that I can't even put it in words. I feel like I know her though I don't and I could listen to her talk for hours. I simply adore, admire and love this Jewel of a person. God-Bless her. Thanks! ~Andree'

  • i completely agree with you i LUV LUV LUV LUV LUV LUV LUV LUV LUVMaya Angelou!!!!!

  • why did maya mention dave chappelle? on iconoclasts she told him "keep doing your dirty jokes. good for you" and she did nothing but acknowledge his qualities. maybe i misunderstood. any thoughts?

  • She's a genius. Mind and heart. (*****)

  • and Phd./// DOCTOR!

  • One thing that makes Maya Angelou so remarkable, is that she is not afraid to speak every word in her mind.

  • I could listen to this elegant and wise LADY all day and be completely blown away by her level of grace, humbleness and truth. Wow Maya. You sure are something special.

  • how could you not love this woman. i will make sure my children read her words.

  • Hahaha I totally agree with her.

  • Can somebody explain to me ( a Brit) what the relevance of the term "Nappy headed ho" is? its just "nappy" over here means a diaper and it loses somewhat in the translation.

  • @hankc356 I don't know if you'll see this four years after your post. You did not ask about "ho", which is a shortening of whore, and is, of course, insulting to women of any race. One definition of nap is "the hairy surface of cloth or suede formed by short hairs or fibers". So "Nappy headed" means that the person's hair looks like that, which is an insulting reference to the curly hair that some black people have.

  • The blight of our capitalism running amuck and taking control of journalism, politics, justice, and our health system dilutes the truth and replaces it with the vulgarity of profit motivated value system.

  • @schniggs That is one of the most intelligent postings i have ever read ,well done.

  • I just love her. A lady in every right.

  • i love listening to her speak....truth, spirit, love...it flows out of her effortlessly

  • black woman are last on the totem pole??? omg! : ( how sad

  • She has sense. She is a real leader.

  • What the hell are you talking about??? This woman is a walking institution! You are just mad because she is more powerful than you could ever be or think of! EVER!

  • @born2sing2theworld hell yea she got that yoda power all in that ass

  • POWERFUL!

  • Best Answer I've ever heard.

  • "How have we come so late and lonely to this place?" and "There wouldn't be enough rope to hang your butts."

Such a wise woman, such powerful words!

    Thanks for the post!!!

  • Listen to the wisdom of our elders!!!!! I definately have become more conscious about the words I use.

  • Mya Angelou is my hero. Point blank. WOW. That was only 3 minutes and she said SOOO much more than I've said in 18 minutes of my videos here on the subject of racism. She's awsome!

  • Talk? I agree.

  • Dr. Angelou is one of my favorite modern speakers. Im a white make in my thirties and her appeal to humanity is very balanced. I agree that it is very hypocritical for Imus to be raked over the coals by some of the black leaders that also laud black male rappers who applause and treat them as royalty.Maya is very correct in asking that those within the race also be held to the same standard of decency.

  • Dr. Angelou did well with proclaiming the message against the situation with Don Imus's commnets. She stated that the African American community should have done something about the rap music years ago when it started to get hateful. In fact, I felt that Al Sharpton should have gotten the black community together to do something with P- Diddy, Snoopdog, and Nelly (rap stars) to eliminate the vulgar and demeaning words directed towards women, and Africian- Americans.

  • So far, she is the only voice worth listening to. She speaks with powerful personal insight and great humanity.

  • This is why I love this woman!

  • She really does have a way with words, and a beautiful voice. I hated I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings when I had to read it in school, but it was an interesting book. She has led an exceptional life.

  • well said

  • Finally a true answer from a person who is not guided by the capitalistic monster.

  • spot on.

  • i agree.

  • i enjoyed the interview

i wish we could speak without offending

    and listen without defending hugs

  • As always Dr.Angelou hits the nali on the head.

  • people must stop hurting people, it happen every where; even at at the last place you would exspect IT at a FAMIL GET TOGETHER. mark.
