Those are huge numbers of migrating birds, disoriented by the lights. They are not attracted to bugs in the lights (there aren't really any bugs up that high, and if they are, they're not visible). 9/11 is in the middle of fall migration and huge numbers of nocturnal migrant passerines from the boreal forest and other parts north of NYC are en route to the tropics. But awesome nonetheless.
Amazing to look at but it's birds, this year they shut the lights off for 20 minutes from time to time so they could get out of the 'trap' it creates for them and would otherwise eventually kill them.

A moth is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. SO you think these are moths. I'll disprove that really easy. Think about the size of a moth, 1-1.5 inches across. Now think about the distance of these "Moths" from the human eyes seeing them. You're telling me that you can see a moth flying at a high of 100+ feet, from 200-300 feet away? Being that I was born here and have lived here for 25 years, I think I would know about a giant moth with an 8'' wing span. Why don't you take a trip here in Sept. and see for yourself. Also, the "Flapping wings" you're talking about aren't flapping at all, I saw very minimal movement. Moths also fly into the light, not around it in harmony. Really watch this video.
oh and even better, I just read even more about the Luna Moth and they do NOT grow to 8 inches. They get to a maximum of 11.5 Centimeters! meaning, they get to a max of 4.5 inches. WOW dude, way to extremely over exaggerate.

This happens every year so take some time and come to New York just to see the lights.
You start seeing some action around 12:00 midnight, it's a must see for yourself.

They are moving throw the air like as if it were micro organisms... during my studies I came across a story that we the human race power of our vision was much greater then today. We now only have 1/3 of the sight and these creatures are rare that humans can see them. This is not special effects by any means.

I remember the first time they put the beams on, we went down there. My stomach got so upset it was so beautiful & the way the beams went up & they joined sort of the shape of the windows on the towers. It was beautiful. I live in YOnkers, if its a clear night I can just step outside my home & look to the left & be able to see the beams but it has to be a really nice clear night. I can't believe it's 7 years already! Call me a complete retard if you like but from where the guy is standing with his camera those objects look quite big. I mean even when he isnt zommed in they're still easily visable. Wouldnt they have to be bugs the size of footballs to be able to seem them so clearly from his distance?.

Yes I agree however if they were bugs they never landed on anything to rest. And when they went out of the light, there bodies were glowing then went out and they vanished.
You must see this for yourself on 9-11-08 if they have the lights up again.

This is the real deal! Just look at other videos on YouTube and see things in the lights. I just have the best shots of them.
As far as being angles or souls who knows what they are. All I know is what I saw and when they fly out of the light, there bodies have an inner glow for around 3 seconds then they turn black and you can't see them at all.
The wind and gravity has no effect on them.

those lights have to be putting some heat out, so the dust or moths rise then as the air cools, they fall again. going up and down.
or just moths, as they seem to flutter ;)
