I have a long term hamstring problem and this is the first time I have heard of "nerve glide". I thank you so much for this info. I do believe I have this nerve problem. Thanks again.
HI, I am a dancer and I have a pain in my right hamstring. My dancing requires me to do splits and kicking , which is usually when I get the pain. I am not able to do my right split because my hamstring in my right leg tightens up and it will not let me straghten my leg. When I kick I get a sharp pain in my hamstring. I also experience pain while i am stretching and that usually does not happen to me. Would this video apply to me as well, meaning do I follow these steps to help my hamstring?
Nice video with good advice. Hamstring injuries are excreuciating to say the least. Be careful with the stretching. Hamstringinjuryhq has some decent articles about this painful injury.
i have played soccer all my life. and the passed year and a half or so ive pulled my right hamstring three times and my left hamstring twice? why could this be? i just dont get it.
I tore my hamstring during the summer and i still have the injury. I'm an athlete and i tore it during a sprint session. I've been to ancupuncture and the pain goes away for some time and then it comes back. I don't know what to do! i'm panicing because I have competitions coming up. Has anybody got some advice please?
i pulled my hamstring 2 months ago and still bothers me. I dont have pain anymore but i cant sprint or kick a ball with that leg. It feels as if Im going to pull it again.
I had ACL insertion (using a graft from my hamstring) 5 weeks ago. Up until this morning I have been able to cycle on a stationary bike at 90%+ intensity, squat side walks, leg presses 40kg, backwards walking holding 15-20kg in each hand. I felt a 'click' this morning doing a 10-15kg lifting (off the floor) exercise. I wasn't pushing myself in a silly way. I was able to drive myself home from the gym and have started applying ice for 15mins every 1 or so. What next? Laurie
hey , i pulled my hammie about 2 weeks ago and now im doing some light weightlifting and i noticed that when doing the eccentric portion of a leg curl i feel my muscle 'click' (i dont know if its the right terminology) or sort of tense up (i dont know if its called a spasm) for like half a second and it goes away .
im pretty sure both my hamstrings are strained, every time i run they kill and i hav to be running 40 miles a week, with the injury i barely can do 25, and i should be do 300 curups and i cant do 5 without my back starting to kill, any help?
I pulled my hamstring sprinting a while ago and I still have issues. I have no problem lifting weights or stretching (I'm very limber) but when I try to do quick take offs I can feel it twinge. Can you help me?
@infenit101 i'll swear to god im GOING TO STUDI THIS SHIT, it can't be that months and months after and still feeling the pain its a shit, also becarful i pulled mine and reinjury and old tear six months ago,.
These people are wonderful! The nerve glides they gave me have healed my hamstring. I wasn't aware how stiff my back was until I utilized the nerve glides. I'm feeling better now than before my injury. It has been only 2 days and I am better every day. Thank you so much!
ok, hamstring curls are the worst thing for a runner. all it does is widin and strengthin the muscle for like a bodybuilder. a runner wants a long and flexible hamstring. squats and legs presses are the best.
I just got back from track practice and my hamstring is killing me right now. I am a Sprinter and I kept practicing regardless of the pain. Now it hurts bad! What should I do since it wasn't too long ago???
I still had to play 3 games back to back and I continue to play softball and kickball for couple more weeks with all the pain ( stupid, but it was the end of the season and i did not want to let me team down) I now had no more playing time for the past month or so and it still hurts. I have been putting ice. How do i know if i should go see a doctor or it's just a matter of time and not playing. thanks.
thanks. I will try them, I had a hamstring problem for the past 2 months ( i had 2 before and a groin problem) I got hurt 2 months ago even before my softball game started, i was just stretching my legs side ways and right away i heard several loud popping noises and right away i felt to the ground and I knew it was bad.
I did that one stretch at around 1:30 and just injured it even more... wtf I hate my life right now and I feel bad for you lacocaed2009... I have felt this pain for a week and half and I think I am going to go insane I can't even imagine for 3 months.
I did an arial (cartwheel in the air, a jump where you have to open your leg really fast, and really far apart), and injured my hamstring. I am in pain for 3 months, every day. It hurts to sit, so it hurts when i am driving, sitting in the lectures at school, I can't stretch even a little. Any suggestions? Please, help!!!!
every time i run my hamstrings get tight and extremely heavy long before i am winded..i dont understand what the problem is someone please help me out
wow, you're a really nice lady to do this for people...personally I wouldn't stretch much until the pain is on it;s way out the door, but your advic seems great. God Bless you.
I was told by a specialist that he had 'never seen such widespread and severe muscle damage from one injury' as in my case, on my hamstring, gluteus, hip abductors... I was told i am looking at 6 months to a year before i can even walk a little..as off work etc..i have been getting pretty depressed..the above (standard) approach is crap, it just alleviates symptoms..just too slow! but from research and experiment I have found a way to accelerate healing beyond my belief!! anyone curious jst ask
i wish you luck, the first 48 -72 hours of an injury + doing RICE are crucial..i wish i'd known that before..the sad thing is as i didn't feel excruciating pain, just numbness/weakness i carried on..the physio's not helping and she's starting to get frustrated with my lack of progress..i have read that a minor muscle injury/tear can become a severe and permanent one over tim...looking likely, am trying every supplement etc..let u know if i have success..then again my injury isnt stan dard

the above advice didn't really do it for me, the injury just gets worse and worse as I returned to work and doing everyday activities..going to the gym is just not even possible..cant even make it there as don't drive and would have to cycle which is impossible..got to say hamstring injury is goddam depressing, don't think i'll ever beat it as so bad..tried bandaging it, ice and massage and it just isn't working..stretching before its ready (about min a month) is also stupid!
I was doing leg strecthes today and it made the pain worse! Then I tried the glide and within a few seconds, the pain eased up. I didn't know to go into the pain and then out again. I pushed the stretches too far and held them too long. BOY! did that hurt! Walking hurts! Standing still with weight on the affected leg is just as bad! Sitting with the affected leg raised and the toe towards the body feels pretty good.
I deadlifted 85 kg after 2 months not training and didnt feel til a couple days later, but I tore my gluteus maximus muscle and my hamstring! this stuff works..already feel better.tho one is you need to strap the injury also for faster recovery..
hi,i pulled my hamstring in football, it didnt start hurting till after them match, i iced it straight away,it was hurting alot for 2 days later, ive been icing it everyday, its been 15 days since i last run, when is the best time to do running again and weights? the pain is very low now, thank you
I injured my hamstring while sprinting, not weight lifting. i want to play rugby again but it requires a lot of running. how do i know when i am ready to do a full on sprint again and how would i ease into it without knowing my limitations?
hi i came bak from a hamstring injury which took 3 weeks to heal, wen i came bak i was training for a week nd cam on to play a match i was fine throught the whole game thn i pulled my other hamstring on my other leg...is this just unluckyness or could it b a problem in my legs?
I find when I do lots of stretching I am more prone to pulling my hamstrings. I think it's because I have over stretched perhaps. Could you have done the same? ie stretched more because you just pulled a ham string and then pulled the other?
"shy" means to stay just below the level of pain. You do not want to stretch so far that your pain is severe. You want to stay just under the pain level.
i wish i didn't have to pay $35, i don't have any money =( but PLEASE, i beg you, could you tell me what wrong. i've had horrible pain in my leg for half a year. i tried asprins, i tried stretching, walking 2 miles a day, and had physical theropy for a month. i tried ice, propping my leg up, and everything. nothing works. there's a gap in my thigh, where muscle used to be. it hurts mainly at the joint at the top of the thigh and at the other joint behind the kneecap. please help. thank you.
Good Video.
