  • VA-35 Intruder West Pac 69-70. Hated the compartment cleaning B/S, worked my way to Plane Captain of the Quarter in N.A.S. Oceana. Don't miss it one bit.

  • I served as member of ship's crew in V-3 division from Dec 1968 to Aug 1972. Worked on the hanger bay.

  • I served aboard her from 1967 through most of 1970. While aboard, I couldn't wait to get off and out of the Navy. Now, looking back 41 years ago, it was the most enjoyable time of my life and would do it again in a heartbeat. She was a great ship with one of the best skippers in 1968-1969 (James Ferris). I was had the privilege of one last conversation with him in 2008 a couple of years before he died. I will miss this great ship, my home for four years, and Admiral Ferris.

  • @luvtogodeep Do you remember the ships weather man, Carl Mosier. He served on board from about the mid 60's until 1978. He is my late father (1/1/1939-2/8/2008)R.I.P Anyone who may remember him, I would enjoy comments please.
