Hi...cool video man...your drums sound amazing but...where are the mics???? clearly there´s one on the kick drum but i don´t see any on the toms or snare...are there only overheads???
Thanx for the lick, Tracy. It's very nice. Sometimes I alter it by adding the left footpedal bass drum notes on quater notes....sometimes too busy, though.
@MrKevin117 I had the same problem for a long time. You just have to practice it a ton. I made a little exercise I would do for 5 minutes every day with playing doubles on the bass. It's similar to a double stroke for sticks, just keep practicing until you build up a fast twitch double hit with the bass. Also try using a better pedal or doing different things with your foot. Just takes time and practice.
Hey, Tracy.....do you have any thoughts on the 'heel-toe' bass drum technique? I understand the concept but have been unsuccessful......do you need a long footboard?
thank you for demonstrating it slowly and then comes to the fast motion .. i like the lick and vabriations ... i like studying steve gadd's licks ... thank you once again ...
I come on youtube looking for licks to learn. Sometimes they are not all that interesting or poorly presented and not easy to understand. I've got to say that you have it all together. The clip is shows a trick drum break that I've I've tried to figure out forever. You made it simple and easy to understand. I was playing it pretty well in a couple of minutes. Thank you. I'm looking forward to your next lesson. -Mike
Very useful lick indeed, thanks for sharing. Just out of curiosity, how did you record the audio? I don't see any mics, overheads, triggers, nothing whatsoever...
Cool fill thanks!

How are you tuning your snare drum brother?
jasonfallon123 1 year ago
@jasonfallon123 Hi Jason,
I use the Drum Dial and take the batter to 90 lbs, and the the bottom to 86 lbs.
Then I'll make small adjustments as needed. I damp the batter head quite a bit when recording.
