  • this is like Max Payne meets High Tension

  • so fuckin amazing...the best horror short film i ever seen in my life... it deserves to become a movie

  • Shit! I saw it coming... I've got to watch less psychological thrillers in order to get the fun out of such good endeavours.

  • Loved it, one question though, if he was hallucinating then where did the axe really come from, the hobo couldn't have been holding it

  • this work is abslutly brilliant!!! i would love to see adapted to a feature film!!!

  • @byrneboy66 Well we've made a feature film since this but its not a horror its a diff story.

  • Nice Effort!!!! Keep it on!!! (One Question though: Where is the blood on his jacket?)

  • se zarpa bolos

  • Nice movie / short film! Congrats and well done!

  • max payne meets silent hill

  • Great work guys! Love the throw back to the classic 80's action with the neo noir feel. Had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Brilliantly shot and awesome action. Hoping to see a lot more.

  • Love it!! is so toma!! en tu cara

  • This.....Fucking..THIS!! epic work.

  • VERY SILENT HILL! =P

  • Yes! I found this again!

Such a freaky piece of work. I love it.

  • Pretty Good... What Camera Did YOu Use And What Were Your Budget?

  • @fnis121 DSR-500 and the budget was £1000.

  • Awesome film man! I enjoyed watching it. It reminds me of Max Payne.

This film is like a mixture of Condemned and Max Payne.

  • Brilliant. 10/10

  • I wonder what the people on the train that passed through were thinking when they looked out the window and saw you guys...

  • nice concept there. kudos! great acting too!

  • oh, how did you get an empty victoria? im honestly really impressed, congratulations :)

  • yay for manchester! and yay for your amazing short. :D

  • The cold blooded and ruthlessness murder in the streets put me in mind of the game Manhunt. Awesome work guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That was so bloody good! xD

  • I think more music would work well...you have it in certain parts..but i think it could be used throughout...some eerie piano or choir music like that on Amityville... I once had a cd with horror film music on it..don't have it anymore...though i know you have a rights issue then to deal with...so fair enough...Good job..

  • How do you get the blood stuff...is it just ketchup in bags? or do you use something else?

  • Is this all shot in Manchester? Studied there once.. Like the camera shots...Nice little comedy horror...

  • did not see the plot twist coming :) good flick

  • wtf -_- i hate how chainsawman so easily killed by one slash axe after marathon.Lol

  • Resident Evils

  • wooow dat was cool keep it up

  • That was unreal for a 12min short film, cheers mate. The area you filmed it in, the story, the camera-work, all was great. The twist at the end was imaginative and the acting made it all very believable. But by far what topped it off was the main character, he just looks like an all around boss LOL. Five stars mate, very well done. And i HAVE to ask, the chain-saw wielding guy, was he at all made after "Dr. Salvador" from resident evil 4? Haha

  • LOL!

    5:26-5:35

Nice job, man. I don't know if the videogame, "Condemned" had any inspiration toward your story. But still, this short film was entertaining.

  • Awesome job! This is one of my favorite horror short films. Very well-written and good camera work. Well done!

  • That was cool.. An almost predictable ending but the story was told quite well. Kudos.

  • still one of the most amazing shorts i have seen ever in my love for horror film. tell me, did the game condemned have any influenece on your film?i think thye both compliment each t\other wonderfully even if they didnt have anything to do with each other

  • A lot of fun had to be had doing this! Good job!

  • repetative chainsaw noise lol

  • u have talent this is a great short loved it = ))

  • good job, =]

  • This is really good... :D Though (I hope you don't get this the wrong way.) I already knew that something was wrong with the main character, the effects and the story is really well done. :D GOOD JOB!

  • nice 1 man... though i predicted he was a psycho haha but awesome none the less

  • So cool, loved the concept, it was only slightly predictable. Overall the shots were fantastic, the fight scenes were well done and the editing was good. Keep up the good work

  • great movie.

  • Very good - loved it! :-D

  • How did you get away with all this in the subway? And like... Were those real weapons? LOL

  • this is one of my favorite short horror film ..

  • oh snap right after watchin this a scooter went by sounded like the saw.

  • WOW that was GREAT!

    ROCKONAWESOME work.

  • Amazing work with no/limited money and im guessing you're amateur film makers. Just a bit predicatable though, with the whole build up in the narrative of the story you just sort of knew it wasnt going to be what it appeared to be. And the title of the film gave it away aswell abit. But other than that well done!

  • Veeeeeeeeeeeery Nice!!!! The End is reeeeeeeally good!

The Camera, The Lights, The Location. Everything perfect! Thumbs up

I got one " Short-Movie " too. If you wanna see it, the Name is " Evil Minds "

  • background music perfect and story cool..... nice movie

  • Nice work! A bit predictable but great job, congrats!!!

  • wich effect is that in this video?

  • I saw the conclusion coming, but anyway, a grandiose movie. Good actors. Mesmerizing atmosphere. Great flashback technique.

  • Well done! I hate most movies with a zombie vibe but this one I love.

  • well man... really nice film ! The costume is Castiel Style from supernatural ^^

the story is fucking great ; )

  • As a horror lover, I know that it takes time to build up suspense to highten the terror, but you've done so in a matter of seconds. Excellent! Well done!!

  • Very good short my man! Where is the location if you don't mind me asking?

  • @StevenJonker33 Manchester Victoria Train station

  • Like how this is shot. And the editing as well. This is a good short film, should have more viewership -- strange that it doesn't.

  • that guy with the potato sack and the chainsaw...Did i see him before in resident evil 4 or something?

  • with th e elevator scene i was thinking that the back doors would open and some dude would appear behind u but i wa mistaken, great movie

  • what cam u shot with and what u use to shoot now?

  • this was a great short film! no wonder it won best horror/suspense short it was well paced and kept a very creepy feel. You guys did a lot with what little budget you had. i have a few short horror films that i think you would like they were done for no budget and dont hold a candle to yours but you should definitely check them out.

  • OMG! Best Horror Ever! I Abs Love Thiss Film! Im Gunaa Keep Waatchng This Oveer And Over Now! I Loveee It! Ive Subbed:D.. You Deserve It And I Cant Waait To Watch Your Next Moviee! :D

  • Great short film. Loved the ending

  • this was great!

  • SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVENT FINISHED THE MOVIE!!!

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVENT FINISHED THE MOVIE!!!

great movie, but i have a few questions. where does vincent get the axe from, does the girl really jump on his back, is the chef really attacking him, what happens to the guy who laughs like a baby, and whats the chainsaw murderer really doing, since he's actually a cop?

  • Although I could predict the ending from the "no please" of the woman, it's really well filmed, good plot development, cinematografy and editing :)

  • Great twist at the end and great cinematography! To me the film was like predictable most of the time. There's nothing new that I have not seen in Hollywood movies. In fact the killing of the protagonist's wife and child which results in him taking revenge is the same as in Charles Bronson's first Death Wish movie. I was, therefore, initially bored a little but the suspense kept me going. Then the ending twist blew me away! There's a danger that many viewers will drop out half way through.

  • Hästi tehtud :) I like it, cool

  • Hästi tehtud :) I like it, cool

  • such a great film! :) awesome! one question, as a film-maker myself, where WAS everyone? Like in the streets and the train station? Did you somehow acquire the rights to have the station to yourself for an hour or two or what? :) Thanks in advance and congratulations on a fine art of film! :D

  • @MrJoshuaYoYo Glad you liked the film. We shot the film between the hours of midnight and 3am so that's why there's no one around. We got permission to shoot on the station and had the office there as our base. You just have to blag things when you've got no money and some ppl will help you out.

  • Awesome short! I really liked the ending.

  • extremely good!

  • Superb movie...very very good cinematography...

  • I've been looking everywhere for this other short film, which is kinda creepy. It's about a man who stops in a quiet town to ask directions, only to find that instead of people, there are dummies (like in a shop window), and they move around when he's not looking. Then he finds out that they actually WERE people and he was just losing his mind. I forget the name of the film, but I saw it on YouTube about a year ago. Does anyone else know what film I'm talking about? It's really bugging me.

  • @rachelchunter Is it a rip off of this?

  • No, it isn't. It's nothing like this film at all.

  • @rachelchunter "only to find that instead of people, there are dummies (like in a shop window), and they move around when he's not looking. Then he finds out that they actually WERE people and he was just losing his mind"

  • Wtf is that supposed to mean?

  • @rachelchunter Well, look up Short Film Still Life

  • @Madii2323 - Omg, thank yooooooou! Been looking for this film for ages! =o]

  • @rachelchunter Yaa dude.....it's an awesome movie...very creepy and thrilling....

  • @rachelchunter

It could be Still Life, by Blue Tree Arrangement... You can seach it.

  • Can you tell me what year you made this film please?

  • @kirstymciver Wrote it in Nov 2005 and we shot it in April 2006.

  • wow no one stop you at the subway?

    imean tehre are securities right?

  • wow none stopped you in the subway scene?

  • The mindfuck twist is one not often seen this way in a noir-style film. You put 2 rather ordinary elements together to make something unexpected and unique. I really liked it, good job!

  • Then where did the saw come from?

  • I like the play on the traditional protagonist/antagonist role. In this film, they were one in the same. brilliant

    (nightelement. com) NYC nightlife

  • i fuckin knew he was going to be the one that killed his wife and unborn child!!!

    great film.....

  • One problem I had with this film was where did he get the axe from if it was never there in the first place?

  • My teacher showed me this in college. it was awesome

  • ooo fuck...

  • Excellent short film!!!

  • ..loved it..that was awesome :D

  • amazing

  • not bad at all. kinda silent hillish

  • the wide screen y6ou made it by yourself or the camera shoots that way ... plz i will appreciate a help by a great filmmaker like you ;)

  • @jdimol It was shot in 16:9 but we added the 1.85 borders to make it more cinematic and it was framed for 1.85

  • @appleguy thank you very much!! i ve tried a million compinations and i just couldnt find a solution...thanks again man!

  • So what film camera was this filmed on? Amazing job. Incredible.

  • @jordanrosenfilms Thanks, glad you liked it. It was filmed with a DSR-500.

  • Theres some really nice cinematography in this... good camera work.

I thought the intro was a little weak and that could put people off watching the entire film.

Lots of 'borrowed' imagery but i guess thats hard to avoid in a horror film these days.

    Good work anyways :)

  • wow, reminds me of condemned( the game)

  • haven't read many other viewer comments so sorry if i sound like others...very f%%%ing creepy film! nice and atmospheric, the twist was hilarious but still made my neck hairs stand up = ]

  • Woah no wonder you won! Great film! Espicially the ending!

  • Reminds of Manhunt...

  • @thewickedrobot yeah i thought the same, Manhunt crossed with Max Payne

  • wow nice ending liked it a lot!!

  • I found it a little predictable after a certain point. It was good though. I liked it and I'll be showing to people I know.

Also, 3:50 - "Now, if you look to your left..."

  • May I say, from a writer/director to another... GREAT WORK MAN. Really, I have a shoot coming up in a few weeks and this film you did really put forth some mean confidence. Enjoyed every aspect of it, lighting, editing, acting and that ending. NICE. just wanted to give the credit deserved. Hope to see you doing blockbuster features now.

  • @KemmyBrownEyez Thx for the comment man. Glad you liked it. Good luck with your shoot!

  • decent

    IMO

  • i noticed that someone asked about the budget for the film and you replied with £1000. I was wondering how did you spread the money and what did you use it for etc? I would be greatful for your reply for I am an amateur film maker based in Manchester UK

  • @riffsrus We already had the camera and the editing set up. The 1000 was spend on getting the costumes and the props like the chainsaw which we got off ebay. The location we blagged for free, the actors we just paid expenses and we purposefully wrote it so we didn't need any sound gear on the shoot and all the sound was done in post. Alot of money went on petrol getting there and back. I did all the editing and sound so that was free too. Write something easy is the key

  • Im surprised this only has 100k views.

  • @TaranM95 People need to spread the word more so more people hear about it and watch it!

  • I am a horror writer and I realy do like short films this the best that I have ever seen. Great job very very well done. It is easily seen why you won comic con's short horror film. If you have any more out there I would love to see them.

  • Inspired by Max Payne?

  • inspired by Max Payne games/movie i guess?

  • how could anyone thumb this video down?? its fucking epic!

  • Did Shutter Island re due your short film? It has the same type of idea .

  • Ok, I must admit I have passed over this film for the last month looking for a good short film that has great shots (tutorial purposes). I am so amazed with this short film. Reading your comments, it is so motivating to know you only had a crew of 2!! This is a great short with a great actor, sound, editing and I didn't predict the ending. Thanks for uploading this video. (I can't afford that camera, just have dvx100b) but watching this will keep me motivated.

  • directed good but the story sounded like the punisher/max payne the bad guys look like they were from silent hill, and resident evil... I understand nothing is completly original i'm guilty of that myself but maybe more thought into it wouldnt hurt, other then that directing was good.

  • Good film, reminds me of the shutter island twist.

  • @aznboyken8000 Nice spoilers, asshole

  • Really enjoyed this. Thanks for posting!

  • really awesome. i love the color correction and the intense feel throughout. please take a look at my first short "the middle" let me know what you think!

  • This short is better than some full scale productions I've seen. I love the camera views on the train station. How long did it take to film that scene?

  • i actually enjoy watching horror like this, quiet intense man!. Good job.

  • I really thought that was a well mad professional film. May I ask what the budget was?

  • @WillShakespeare2007 glad you liked it. the budget was £1000 with a crew of two people

  • @appleguy We want a sequel....!!!

  • that was awesome- but if the guy is just psycho then where did the axe come from?

  • i thought this was great - but if he is just psycho then where did the axe come from?

  • @allie304 , That is a great question. Yeah, where did the axe come from? maybe she saw the dude kill the homeless guy and desided to atack the man with the axe from the fire emergency box. its a posibility.

  • I KNEW IT =D omfg this is amazing!

  • How did he get the axe if the guy bum in the train station wasn't carrying it?

  • HEY GUYS

    IT'S GORDON FREEMAN

  • how did you manage to find an empty train station

  • good vid, although it was very predictable for me

  • I haven't showered for over a week. And that's a true statement.

    Anyway, good film.

  • Great cinematography, editing & atmosphere - definitely one of the best short films I've seen, ever

  • omg that was wonderfulll i am startin to make videos myself i jus bout the action essentials 2 package do u hav any tips for me

  • @AirsoftFlorida1

    Learn to write English.

  • @CleverDjembe i only spelled one word wrong i meant bought

  • @AirsoftFlorida1

    Capitalisation? Periods, commas etc.?

  • @AirsoftFlorida1 Tips would be make something simple that won't take you too long and try and find good locations to shoot at as it will make the production look more expensive.

  • Wow! I actually loved that!

  • Awesome Twist

    Good Editing

    Nice Job

  • this is hellllllllllllaa good.

  • well bloody done, really good camera usege and a good little story!!!! thumbs up!

  • very well done!

  • Fu*k?&*!!! Awesome!

  • story perfect

  • Oh my goodness!!! i thought it wasnt gonna be that good.. but it was AMAZING!!!

  • I like this, same about the continuity at 8:10 - different lift.

  • 5/5!!!! very good job! best on youtube i think.

  • Stunning, 5/5.

  • Or, maybe he was imagining the axe and still had his crowbar.

  • That was EPIC!
