wow i hadnt remembered quite how gay brutus the barber's costumes where. i wouldnt be surprised to see orlando jordan come out dressed like that nowadays.
@MrJon76 actually vicious circle later turned into a band and then changed their name to TSOL.
all these dudes were tough pricks and surf punk thugs. etc. they used to beat up people with long hair(people they would call dirtheads) because the dirtheads would attack punk rock people by themselves as they hated the growing punk rock scene as it was killing their led zepplin scene and taking over. the punk rockers turned into the hardcore scene.
@MrJon76 actually WRONG, the legion of doom punk rock gang started in late 77' and in los angeles. they were a street/punk rock gang, they had mohawks and such. i've researched all of this stuff. another gang that started at this time later formed into a band called the outsiders from huntington beach. yet another gang called vicious circle formed in early 78.
@pudgster I heared they got the name from an L.A. hardcore punk rock gang called L.O.D. that goes back to 78 or 79. Hence the whole punk rock look of hawk and animal. mohawks, chains, spikes, etc.
There were a bunch of pretty violent hardcore punk gangs from 78-85(outsiders, L.O.D. HBs, Hb wolfpac, Lads-l.a. death squad), Lmps, FFF, the family-circle one, etc) and some of those still exist.
Man, Hawk & Animal had some of the best promos ever. It's amazing how believable they were despite them being so over the top. You really felt like these were just two bad motherfuckers that would just tear their opponents to pieces.
@TheNewMusicNetwork Actually they started using the Legion of Doom name while wrestling in Atlanta several years before they debuted in WWF. They've mentioned in past interviews that they got the Legion of Doom name from an old Super Friends cartoon
@TheNewMusicNetwork Sorry, but no. They took the name from the secret society of super-villains that Hanna-Barbera re-named the Legion Of Doom in the 1978 animated series 'Challenge Of The SuperFriends".

the name legion of doom was taken from an actual L.A. hardcore punk rock gang back in the early 80s. and road warriors from that movie.
