I really think you're all wrong listen to the whole story. He'd already given an interview but felt he had to go back and get something off his mind. Who wouldn't, knowing that a young orphaned girl took her own life due to you and your editors quest for sales. But he did sound very troubled to me. There's a higher law than the law of the land, whatever your beliefs (or non-beliefs). What goes round comes round in any language. He has to live with this forever, it won't go away.

@packoftwenty The interviewee pauses and there's a danger of him drying because he doesn't want to talk about it. So the interviewer coaxes him along, using a euphemistic term for suicide so as to avoid the hot button word that might shut the interviewee up altogether. That's how it sounded to me.

"The gutter press finished him", Bennett said at his funeral. There's probably more but still one innocent person hounded to death by a national newspaper every decade since the 1980s is not really a great record.
