@Youngman104 any rod and real will work. if u want to cast short then go with a bait casting reel. and if u want to cast far use a spinning real. dont use a fly reel and rod.

in my opinion in the fall and winter they wont bite topwaters where im at because it gets about 20 degrees and they stay in the bottom then..
