@supertacoman132 Keep in mind that these crashes are not intentional, apart from setting up an open-intersection course. We were running proper races around the track, but since we knew collisions were likely (regardless of intention), we had a guy on the high-speed camera trigger to record any carnage.
@JLsoft Thanks for noticing. I have a hard time selecting a better soundtrack to racing videos than Magical Sound Shower. Thankfully it has been remixed quite a bit, so I can use different versions for autocross, drifting, and R/C racing videos. This version is particularly twangy and seems to fit the slow motion filming well.
My silver Mercedes ended up in a lot of the crashes (un?)fortunately. It amazes me how much the entire body flexes on impact, particularly at 0:47. My rear axle is suspended by 3 springs, and a flexible H-plate, so it is possible to get very large axle deformations during landings and impacts. Also, it seems like the impact compressed the front suspension and pushed the car into the carpet, which caused it to spring up and get airborne.
We'll try lower angle next time for a different view.
that is really kool but i would not do that to my mini z.
