  • I remember this so fondly from my childhood.....

  • My parents bought me this when I was 6! :D Thank you so much! I thought no one else knew about this!

  • I am so nostalgic for the epically slow loading screens, you don't even know. x'D

  • OH MY GOD!!!!!!! I HAD THIS!!! (and broke it...shhhh.....^^;) Best thing ever, I tell you what. I'm so glad my dad got me educational stuff....:) I played with super painter all day long.

  • So many memories !!!!!! thanks

  • So many memories!!!! Thank you =)

  • I just bought this system at goodwill. No keyboard, and Hodge Podge. Dunno if it works... But it looks pretty neat. The redraw of background elements onscreen reminds me of the old text adventure games that had images, but they needed to be processed which was rather slow.

  • @12al34 Oh, and I just noticed that I have the talking cartridge as well. I didn't notice that up until a moment ago.

  • Seeing levels slowly being pieced together...my god... the memories...

  • Oh my God, this is so awesome. I was 8 years old when I got this in '88. I've been looking for this demo for years!!!

  • I have a voice cartridge now, and "Hodge Podge" cart! So now we will make lets play #2!!

  • @VideyoJunkei Woo-hoo!

  • @VideyoJunkei When?

  • @VideyoJunkei When will you make a part 2? Because I can't wait!

  • Still got one of these in the attic somewhere - I'll have to try it out on out 42 incher!

  • I had the same but in french...ours would speak, like would read the menus for us. I'm surprised it didn't do it in english. Same music though! :P And dear, why does he turns his head 360 like in the exorcist haha

  • Seriously, right im now 4 years old, playing this and just being fascinated with the song and the robot. Man, childhood memorys...

Thanks for the post, much appreciated

  • haha thanks for bringing back my childhood, holy crap, I was so young. like 4 or 5, played till I was like 7, quickly progressed onto playstation or Amiga.

  • any one got the dump/binary/bios, to play it with MESS!!

    pleeeease PM me.......

  • Thank you so so so much for uploading!! Brings me back to my childhood!! XD

  • I played the crap out of this game until I was about 10 or 11 probably.

  • It was like Johnny 5 was on my screen at 7 years old. I actually lived the death out of this system. I was playing this while you were at soccer practice.

  • I had one of these. I barely played it but the music game was my fav.

  • omg!!! I remember wanting a Socrates! There was one at school and I used to jump at the opportunity to play it!! I wish I would have asked my parents to buy me one. Not sure why I didn't.

  • I would like to think that wait states were inserted in the software on purpose...

  • They are still working on emulation for this...it took several months of system analysis to get the sound and video to work right. It's amazing that they got as far as they did.

  • the robot use to scare me

  • omg I used to have this as a kid, voice cartridge, and like, 3 different learning cartridges... but they've since disapeared

  • Thank You for this!

  • @1000davy

    @Johnpicha

    You Start Work That...

    3-D Animation...

    Thank You...

  • Holy Crap! WALL-E!! DAMN YOU PIXAR FOR COPYING HIM!

  • @IreTrollin The proverbial question: Which came first? Socrates, Johnny Five, or Wall-E.

  • @IreTrollin Wall-E may have copied Socrates, but Socrates himself is just a copy of Johnny Five from "Short Circuit".

  • Aww, this was my favorite!!

  • LOL I remember playing this! I also remember when I was young and playing duckhunt for the NES, then my parents replaced it with this piece of shit :(

  • NO. WAY.

Thanks for beating me to this. (Unfortunately doesn't talk, though.)

  • Word Games has the most replay value out of all the games, followed by Math Quiz level 6 (especially 2-player competition). Super Painter and Follow Me are also fun.

  • In Math Problems, the level doesn't necesserially correspond to grade level. Level 6 is really just 4th grade math for addition while Level 1 Division is 3rd grade math. Level 6 mult/division is 5th grade math.

  • @pannoni1 Spelling 1 is for 1st-2nd graders, while Spelling 2 is for 3rd-4th graders.

  • Are you sure the batteries are good? I own one of these myself, and mine responded much quicker than yours did.

It's great to see an LP of this, by the way. I loved this game as a child, and I still get enjoyment from it today.

  • HOLY FUCK I REMEMBERED THIS I WAS 7 YEARS OLD THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING!!
