  • even though I was from the west coast and Death row was killing the game in the 90's I fell in love with Wu tang and told all my friends about the group. In fact I think my whole block listen to them cause of me! lol So when ODB cd came out I got one tape and one cd and LOVED it. EVERY song was fire. Most wu fans say Cubin Linx is the best but I felt Odb and Liquid Swords are better. I love the dark, creepy schizophrenia feel from Dirtys CD and the moody, gritty vibe from Swords!

  • whoever said genius @:12 sounded like a ruler.. like a royal director of men

  • like tha children in tha cornfield! swaggg swaggg

  • @1robertpolson there was a flood i believe which destroyed many beats, most being on inspectah decks album which was meant to come out in 95. To be honest though, through his recent output i dont think it would've sounded that well but that's my opinion

  • I don't know why raekwon got an early solo album, inspecta deck should have been next in line.

  • Dirt always and skills on the mic just that he was a bit more colorful with his lines and style more like an entertainer then an normal rapper but the man was an still is dope period!!!!

  • Dont say R.I.P because legends never die.

  • I'll grab and the mic and now I damage you, cut your whole stamina

    Here comes the medical examiner

One verse then you're out for the count

(Bring the ammonia) make sure he sniffs the right amount

Wake him up and then I ask him

Why did he intend this --

Competition to get an ass kickin so tremendous

    Boy you shouldn't bother this

Leave me alone like the (son said G or he'll be fatherless!)

so awsome i use this as intro for my boxer on fight night champion ps3 :D

  • @IAMDOPED i am imagining this scenario, and now i am noticing how epic that sounds

  • I wouldnt evn argue, track 4 track thee best wu tang album, after i heard it all them years ago got suntanama f'real!! Obviuosly big up Ghost face Supreme Clientel nRae's Cuban Links, but theres no doubt about the originality n straight up hardcore"ness" of this album. ODB will be missed by all tru hip hop headz. coast to coast and worldwide.

  • beats insane

  • @holyghostodb shatappppp i bet ODB is shaking his head at that

  • I teach the truth to da youth, I say hey youth / here's the truth. You better start wearin' bulletproof!!! By far my favorite Wu album.. A fatherless style of Hiphop that will forever remain timeless. RIP ODB... Ferocious, knowledgable & str8 DOPE!!!

Fuck these new name rappers that can only brag and front.. WU TANG NI**A!!!!

  • For some reason way before I ever heard the rest of this album I had this track. Fire! Used to bump this on my Sonique player haha

  • THE GENIUS!

  • I remember buying the cassette tape of O.D.B's Brooklyn Zoo back in the summer of '95 when it first came out. I got chills just by listening to the tracks. Crazy dope debut by ODB.

  • does anybody else think GZA sounds kinda weird in this song?

  • @kevenator12 Just younger, man.

  • @vincentBurden well when was this recorded cause he sounds normal on 36 chambers and that came out 2 years before this album

  • SUNTANAMA!

  • After This Song, I'ma Play Protect Ya Neck II The Zoo.

  • This album got nominated to the grammy's 97 as best rap album, and now i see why. ODB, unique talent, there will never ever be someone like him.

  • this should have more views than rebecca black's friday

  • @Rubinski555 i completely agree

  • GZA is the best lyricist in wu, why ppl always have to compare everything

  • Arguably teh best Wu Solo Album.

  • ol dirty bastard wins hands down because he is the one with the biggest personality.

  • I kick the truth to the youth, I say hey youth heres the truth, you better wear bullet proof!

  • THE GENIUS!!!!!! MASSIVE LOVE TO YOU ODB! RIP

  • MAKE SURE HE SNIFFS THE RIGHT AMOUNT....ROLE UP ON A FEEN LIKE THE COUNT OF MONTI CRISTO!

  • Pause a 2:48 and appreciate the real rap....

  • This may be one of the best Wu joints ever.

  • This is the most energetic GZA ever sounded. Usually he's all laid back and shit. Dirty brought it out of him.

  • @Antrizzle2009 in bring da ruckus hes got more vibe to him. actually in 36 chambers he was decently laid back but still had some hype to him.

  • @shegwin True. But compare that to Liquid Swords or especially recent albums. He's much more hyped here. You're right about 36 chambers tho. He gets hyped on Clan In Da Front.

  • @Antrizzle2009 yeh i actually dont dig gza's laid back style. i loved liquid swords but honestly its not like his lines were LIFE CHANGING or so complex it blew ur mind away. it was honestly just a slow vibe and people who say gza was the most lyrical, i would say maybe, but outside of the WU he definitely was not the mostt lyrically amazing dude.

  • @shegwin Well the thing about GZA is he's not an amazing punchline rapper in the way a Big L, but the lyrical complexity is there. Like with all Wu members, you really have to understand 5 percenter teachings and NOGE philosophy to get alot of the lyricism. Like when GZA says "Father U C K the pollice", I was 13 at the time and had no clue why he woudl say it like that until I learned about the Supreme Alphabet. But listen to songs like Animal Planet, Fame, etc.. to hear great lyrics.

  • @shegwin Wel he's not a punchline rapper like say Big L is, so his lyrics don't jump out at you right away. Alot of his stuff is so complex that you have to listen to it over and over again to truly appreciate what he's saying. Animal Planet is the perfect example of this. On the surface its just him naming a bunch of animals, until you actually listen to what he's saying and how he's using them as analogy for society. Deep shit. There's really no one like him in that regard. Maybe Canibus.

  • @Antrizzle2009 Aesop Rock!

  • @shegwin You have a point. Gza syle of rap was unique in that it was double layered with 5 percent mind set. He also had his voice at medium rage so no mater if the beat was fast, or slow he would keep the same pace. You either love it or hate it. This style went perfect with Rza gritty, dark, moody beats.

  • @b7r7u7c7e yeah like i dig gza but seriously his shit wasnt that that deep, it wasnt MF doom complex and absurd, it was prettty damn straightforward forreal, illmatic on the other hand got you that OOH shit once u knew wat he was talkin about and big L made you say oh damn that was a hot line. gza was mediocre, not too amazing, not bad, just kinda there (much like the rest of the wu no offense and i love wu)

  • Wuurd..GZA an 'Kwon murdered it on liquid swords and cuban linx

  • ODB go hard but not harder than Gza or Raekwon --- cmon bra

    i love you ODB

    [no homo]

  • THE GENIUS!!!! (baby voice)!! lol!!

  • @ PizzaBoy352

    'Jean!'

  • @Shoe3003 Lol!!

  • all this was written by odb, gza rapped on it so people could understand it better, and understand how raww!!!! it was

  • .If we die, the next generation will fight them too and the one after them for as long as they must and eventually we shall succeed

  • dude i had totally forgot odb was on elektra records wit del the funky homosapien

  • @ IceMann402

Ice Cube always hated being associated with Del, haha

  • @Shoe3003 lol cuz ice cube cant spit lyke del

  • Im going to make my new born learn to say WUTANG!

  • Holy funkin genius... O.D.B. Big baby jezus.. I can't wait..

  • I stepped up to a jet black kid, he started speakin' spanish!

Knew he wasn't from Panama, I axed him how get so dark, the nigga said

    -Suntanama!

He responded so fast he made me laugh, HAHAHA....

Then I scared his ass... Best part of the track

  • I love Dirty's style it's so sketchy but goddammit he tweaks it to sound like a masterpiece

  • Muthafuckin' GATOR ass track right here, for real!!!

  • ODB is the shit..his style is jus so raw

  • i forgot ho hard dat song is

  • Well I wouldn't put this album up there with OB4CL or Liquid Swords. I think it kinda lags in the 2nd half, while those albums bang all the way through. Plus Dirty ain't exactly on the level lyrically of Raekwon or the GZA. But its tight nontheless!

  • ODB goes harder than Raekwon and GZA. ODB was intoxicated when he made Nigga Please and Return to the 36 Chambers. But it still went hard nevertheless and on top of that ODB is the most popular WU tang member when ODB wasn't drug influenced he was a fucking monster ex:Pop Shit ft. Pharell (song) and his Osirus and Ason Unique Albums.

  • @MrAllen1502 I think ODB is the best from the Wu, I like his crazy style. And some one said he's not lyrical. Raekwon doesn't spit like ODB did in shame on a nigga or dirty and thristy. Plus it's all opiniated. 10 rappers 10 differents styles. Odb-rza-ins-gza-mk are my favorite 5.

  • @Kakakingdacrunk what you talkin about? He definately out spit Dirty on "Raw Hide" and that was on Dirty's own album. "Yo, check the bulletproof fly shit, strong like thai stick/ then I'll remain to tear your frame, while I freaks it/like some fly new sneaks and shit/Now EAT my shit, bitch tried to creep and got hit"

  • @MrAllen1502 bwahahahhahaha....u bout the dumbest! Dont get me wrong this is one of the best solos...he aint better than rae or gza by far!! he had his own unique style! thats what made odb..odb!!! gza and inspectah deck is by far the most lyrical.... my fav rapper is meth... but im not afraid to put the facts out there! get real son! any true wu-fan will speak up and tell you there aint no best! everyone is differant in thier own way! but to say some shit like that? you must be born in the 90s

  • @MrAllen1502 LMAO!

  • @MrAllen1502 What u talking about?

first of cos he was intoxictd and hwo u know he wasnt when he did the song pop shot!!

  • @MrAllen1502 ehhh i think meth has him topped...but he still wrecks

  • @miskkk iunno man mef has good flow but dirtys just raw as fuck

  • @MrAllen1502 I love me some ODB but let's not get carried away - he's no GZA.

  • @TQCKyle

there's a lot of rappers that sound like GZA.

now think of how many sound like ODB.

  • @MrAllen1502 FUCK PHARELL. FUCK U. ODB IS BETTER WHEN HE BE DRUGGED OUT. JUST NOT TO MUCH OR U GONNA DIE OBVIOUSLY. R.I.P

  • @MrAllen1502 how the hell would you know what tracks Ol dirty was drunk on Id say he may have been drunk on some but he made bangin songs withought being intoxicated I think

  • @Antrizzle2009 i like the beats more on this one, and dirty is twice as entertaing as all of the other rappers.

i think ti-cal was the best but not many would agree cause it's not as consistent as the albums you said but method man was stronger at this time than any other rapper.

  • @SOADownsnubs Honestly, as much as I loved Meth back then, I actually thought he came harder on his guest spots. Between the What (Biggie), Extortion (Mobb Deep), How High (Redman), Shadowboxin (GZA), Box In Hand (Ghostface), Raw Hide (ODB), I mean all those guest spots go harder than anything on his own album.

  • @Antrizzle2009 uhh, he's more of a performer... no shit he isn't up there wit the rest of the clan. this whole album is art. it's as good as the rest of the early wu solos, on a whole different tip.

  • @smokinpuddlez702 Ok I can go with that, but you got people up here talking about it's as lyrical as Cuban Linx or Liquid Swords and that is a flat out lie. It's entertaining don't get me wrong, but let's not act like it's a lyrical masterpiece. If anything he gets more lyrical on Nigga Please.

  • Arguably the best Wu Solo Album.

  • all of them are arguably the best...lol they're amazing imo :)..but odb rips shit extra hard...

  • well atleast the first round of solos all could be argued over which is best...

  • @MrChiroka agreed

  • @MrChiroka WHAT?!! Liquid swords ring any bells? this is the best song of this album only because the Genius is in it, every other is garbage

  • @omegafox3 he did say-argueably.

  • @MrChiroka this liquid swords, iron man, uncontroled substance

  • @MrChiroka thats a bold statement

  • @pitbullODB

    I agree with MrChiroka !

  • @kidhalo Method Man - TICAL. A cut above all.

  • @MrChiroka naw naw naw only built for cuban linx AKA the purple tape is the best.....

  • @getyoasshome Liquid swords gets my vote..just.

  • @ogfunk187 i had liquid swords on vinyl way back...i played that shit so much i warped the record...its hard to choose between liquid, OB4CL, and the dirty version....it was all rugged.

  • @getyoasshome yess sir!

  • @getyoasshome

    i second that..

  • @MrChiroka I agree. At first listen, it seems like theres no way... but there's something really special of ODB's presence on the awesome RZA tracks

  • @MrChiroka yes sir! every body on her and you hear how happy gza sound this is 36 chambers 2! 4 real!

  • @MrChiroka Dude Return to the 36 chambers is good but.....liquid swords.....

  • @HipHopDetective agreeeeed

  • Gza has a crazy flow on this one

  • the king...rip

  • rip odb
