Dave is way to much into his self and does not share well with others. He ruined the song not letting the Van Halen bros cut loose with thier magnificent guitar rifts in that preformance. Dave is truely a gifted guy but his overbearing personality eventually broke up the band.

Man, when I saw VH on the Diver Down tour, Dave had NO VOICE AT ALL. I never knew he could sing live. This link was awesome. Van Halen was a FORCE. The powerful-sounding name goes perfectly with the band's style.
Baltimore Washinfton is the greater metropolitan area,this concert was taped at the Capital Center,located in Landover Maryland,virtually right between the 2 cities,1982...I was a senior in high school and attended this show,but unfortunatly i was way way in the back !! lmao
Pretty much any rock band sounds like that. They turn it up way too much, so our ears are overwhelmed. The only one I've seen live that didn't was Pink Floyd. They sound much like a CD player that was turned up a bit much, but not that much. Even Rush is too loud live. (Looking forward to seeing them again in June!) No David Lee Roth = No Van Halen. When an enigmatic lead singer leaves a band, the band as it was when they made it big, it's just not the same band, imo. His voice & stage presence...and weirdness...was what helped them stand out. New VH couldn't make songs like these & RWTD even though Eddie is a great guitar player.

There were more kids that went out and bought a guitar because of Eddie than ANY guitarist bar none. I was one of them. I heard him for the 1st time in 8th grade back in feb of 78 and heard eruption and couldnt even fathom what the heck he was doing. Greatest rock guitarist of all time. I love Zep, they made great albums that stood the test of time but Eddie influenced more guitarists and changed the whole genre single-handedly. just an awe inspiring player.

No David Lee Roth = No Van Halen. When an enigmatic lead singer leaves a band, the band as it was when they made it big, it's just not the same band, imo. His voice & stage presence...and weirdness...was what helped them stand out. New VH couldn't make songs like these & RWTD even though Eddie is a great guitar player.

Plant was wearing long blonde hair shirtless in the mid-sixties besides DLR was acrobatic on stage leaping off the drum platform doing splits in mid air so their is no comparison there I dont see it Roth was influenced mostly like Eddie by R&B acts in the 60s and 70s musically and on stage

There were more kids that went out and bought a guitar because of Eddie than ANY guitarist bar none. I was one of them. I heard him for the 1st time in 8th grade back in feb of 78 and heard eruption and couldnt even fathom what the heck he was doing. Greatest rock guitarist of all time. I love Zep, they made great albums that stood the test of time but Eddie influenced more guitarists and changed the whole genre single-handedly. just an awe inspiring player.
