he didnt think of himself as a terrorist, he thought he would start a war, a rebellion where people who thought like he does would feel free to attack groups he hates. but, apparently, no one feels they are strong enough to do that. he did enough research to be able to figure that out. but, i guess he wanted to believe that even the small groups would give up their lives for the cause of racism. probably why, as he wrote, he desocialized himself to gain mental strength. he did it to himself.
If you're a muslim & strap a bomb to yourself killing 77 people your a terrorist. If your a white european & kill 77 people your insane. A insane person could not have carefully come up with this kind of master plan. If you don't agree then you should call all terrorist insane too right?
@gustavth1 Point I'm was tring to make is if he's insane and is judge as insane (which I agree people who do this are insane by the way) Then ALL Terrorist should be judge and labelled in the same way. what he did insane or not WAS an act of terrorism right? Basically It pisses me off that he is being passed off as just insane and not an insane terrorist...
@HusdalHusdal If you read both my comments correctly you would understand that I did not say he is stupid or denied he is insane. My issue is that he is NOT being labeled an INSANE TERRORIST. I find your comment stupid...
@mykie2005 u wrote: " A insane person could not have carefully come up with this kind of master plan." I believe that him being put in psychotic care is the best punishment he can get. We're just going to support his own imaginary world that he is a knight who did the right thing if we send him to jail. However, if we send him to psychotic care, and give him treatment, he will have to face the fact that his view of the world is completely twisted, which I think would cause him more pain than being locked up in a prison cell, convinced that he has sacrificed himself for the ¨greater good¨.
I believe i am here to save the world and therefore schizophrenic..and therefore have a licence to kill... apparently...people..we have no justicial system..no governments..no health system... only lies... time to revolt
@uforunity he made himself schizo to kill people that were not giving him the good life he thought he deserved. and, if thats true then thats probably why he had so many friends and was able to function for so long independently.
lolol OTOYA. He said the only thing he regrets is having a nose job. Norway is fucking naive and too kind to criminals... it's a paradise for those who dosen't give a fuck.
Enemies of the Chinese State - so-called political subversives such as members of Falun Gong - have been imprisoned in psychiatric hospitals, receiving psychiatric diagnoses such as: "political maniac", "delusions of reform" and "paranoid psychosis". (wikipedia)
Tinfoil hats on at 3, 2, 1. The trial will continue, the verdict when found guilty will change. Breivik insane? Well thats a real shocker. I can imagine Breivik sees this as a personal insult, all he wants is to have his lunatic ramblings and drivel taken seriously. Maybe it's for the best as lifetime prison is limited to 12-16 year in Norway and he can be locked up indefinitely this way. He will likely end up in a maximum security mental institution for the rest of his life.
This is psychiatry used as a political weapon. I never envisaged such a level of corruption, nepotism and conspiracy. No wonder the euro is failing and everything else also.
@geir44 - I agree completely. This man is a political extremist but he is not crazy. I'm a medical doctor by the way. I think the truth is the ruling class in Norway (and Sweden & Denmark) is very afraid of this man and what he represents. I think they will do anything to make sure that he does not get a public platform. By diagnosing him as "crazy" they will be able to medicate him with powerful psychiatric medications. He will be doped up and dumbed down and locked away.
All the points on which Breivik was found to be delusional are only examples of how he understands the basis of political ideas and the psychiatrists do not.
His points about white reserves are based on how Indigineous populations are being protected in other places. Do you want to tell the Chiefs of Native American bands that they are delusional?
Every point that he's been found to be delusional on is an example only of the psychiatrists lack of political savvy.
I think he will suffer much more in that mad house, than getting maximum 1 minute long death penalty on electric chair! Besides, as far as i know, psychiatrastic treatment, might make him feel bad about what he did, and im sure he wont get out of there in a long time...
That sick bastard would have been shot at first sight if that would have happened in the USA.
I can't believe he is even still living after what he done.
Anybody that guns down innocent civilians like that is insane no matter how you dice it. It took psychiatrists to diagnose him? Any sane person already knows he is diffusional.
@BFKAnthony817 Many of the European countries over there don't believe in the death penalty. Those pansies faint at the thought of putting a monster like him to death. But I think if anyone deserves it, he does.
@hayden50 Actually before getting all macho about it, you should realize that ALL European countries have abolished the death penalty, with the exception of Belarus. It's also been abolished in Canada, Latin America, Oceania, Turkey, central Asian countries, and has at least been suspended indefinitely in Russia and Korea.
Just because America does it, it doesn't make it right.
@OzDeist death penalty may have been abolished in EU but the majority countries in the world including russia, turkey and central asian countries have not abolished death penalty. that makes EU in the minority. if this killer gets away pulling the insanity thing, then it is an injustice and farce on the name of justice to all those families whose loved ones he killed. what is the difference between him and OBL? although i belive OBL was a prop and fall guy, and most likely this guy is the same.
@hayden50 Nope, we don't "faint at the thought". However, we are civilised countries who believe that if it is wrong to commit murder, it is also wrong to murder as the punishment for it. Furthermore, we believe in justice, not vengeance.
We also accept that we are not perfect and make mistakes. There is no way back if you get it wrong with a death penalty, and the US has done countless times. Why are the judge, executioner and prosecutor not then put to death? By your logic, they should ...
@aido92 lol, majority of UK citizens support the death penalty, so you're in the minority....also The people who say NO to the death penalty for a serial killer like Breivik ,think it makes them morally superior. But they are wrong: it makes them morally senseless and decrepit.
@hayden50 Majority of Europeans don't support the death penalty, and, the vast majority of Norwegians don't, who are really the only people whose opinion counts in this matter. To argue that not wanting to put to death someone who has killed is morally senseless, seems itself pretty senseless to me, and it seems to me that it is you who are seeking to claim superior morality here. Either it is wrong to kill, or it is not. And what happens to those who put to death an innocent man?
@aido92 yeah right,he deserves a safe, civilized facility with access to TV, video games, books, open university sociology courses, three square meals a day and lots of social workers and psychologists to ask him how he 'feels.' right ?
Morals are subjective.but there's a huge difference between a serial killer being killed by the state after a fair trial in which he was found guilty of murder, and innocent civilians being gunned down by an individual in an unprovoked attack.
@hayden50 And there is a difference between seeking vengeance and seeking justice. This is the legal system in Norway, as supported by the Norwegian people. That is their right, and your opinion of that system is of little consequence in this case, even were it to be correct. Civilised societies demonstrate their civilisation not just in how they treat acceptable members of that society, but in how they treat the unacceptable ones as well. They can not make exceptions just because of his actions
and some psychiatrists say he is not insane
