I have several friends who are in the police force who have faced life or death situation to protect people. The first defense should be you, either gaining knowledge on how to survive and defend yourself or with the use of defense tools such as a firearm. It's funny that back in 1997 in North Hollywood. 300 cops were out gunned by only two bank robbers. Some of the cops went to privately owned guns stores to get not buy rifles to take down these two punks. What ya'll need to realize, for those of you who don't live in the United States..The supreme court overturned the weapons ban on DC earlier this year. So, hopefully, they'll be able to buy guns and protect themselves like everyone should be able to.

The police have no legal right, because its not in the constitution. Just as you have a shitload of rights that the police cannot violate and dont. Dont blame the police, the letter of the law is the constitution. Also the police have a duty to the general public, NOT the individual. If you want round the clock protection; hire a body guard.
