  • Titli you must try it instead of butter a mix of cinnamon and powder sugar and sprinkle as much you like trust me it's much more better that way ;)

  • wooow that was amazing, you really explained the very easy

    I thank you very much

  • i think that we fail to remember that some foods were once eaten because there wasn't anything else to eat. it was about survival as opposed to titillating the taste buds. fortunateness for me! i never had to worry about that in my life time.

  • We also make this in Lebanon! My grandmother makes it the best, it's not so different from your recipe. Titli you're soo sweet with so much humor. Keep up your good work. Love your videos.

  • Titli,

I was wondering when you'll be making Cassoulet Titli style for us? :P

    Happy Ramadan to ya!

  • wheaty, meaty goodness...ahahahah... funny!

I don't know if i could eat this though...hmmmmm.... is it good?

  • @EvelynGB Looks like... well, you know.... but tastes really good!

  • That looks nastey.

  • Thanks for the recipe but I think Haleem tastes better than Harees ;-)

  • it's like haleem

  • @ontheskies Haleem and harees are the same basic dish. When harees was introduced into India they spiced it up a bit. A lot, actually!

  • that looks yummy .............a bit time consuming but easy...no comparison with haleem(nothing like hyderabadi haleem...a bit of regionalism lol) but def i'm gonna try this for my iftar.

  • looks yummy and nice dancing

  • My MIL in Lebanon makes this but with chicken in a massive pan and gives it to all the neighbours :)

  • I can't believe no one has commented on the funky dance yet! Words can't describe how much I love it. I'm in awe, I've already watched it 5 times. O.O

Non sequitur: I love your dress, Titli!

  • Thanks Titli, I love simple dishes!

  • wow I'm quite impressed you stumbled upon harees.. one of my favourite dished for Ramadhan. Although our families in the gulf stopped serving it with ghee or butter.. instead we just sprinkle it with cinnamon powder :)... enjoy the rest of ramadhan, and many blessed returns of the month inshallah..

  • could I just use meat tenderizer on the meat beforehand and then cook it and once done add cracked wheat to make life a bit easier? :)

  • @Unwaar Yu want the stuff to become like a porridge. If yo really did the biz on the meat at the start it might work. If you use decent quality meat in small pieces it breaks up quite easily though after 2-3 hours cooking.

  • That looks amazing.

  • How do you eat this? Is it like a dip that you eat with crackers or rather do you just get a spoon and dig right in?

  • @user3640 we usually just eat it as is.. just get a spoon and dig in :)

  • @user3640 I'd interested to know this too! Maybe it's with naan?

  • @sahds91 Just get your spoon out!

  • oh gosh that looks so gross

  • it's not beautiful to see... but the taste are wonderful!

    Titli the best!

  • It sort of looks like a meatie wheatie hummus

  • @simpfan666 That's a good analogy!

  • I'm sorry but that looks like my dog got sick in my plate....

    lol

  • @cherbear1001 Poor puppy!

  • @TitliNihaan I'm sure it tastes delicious! but definitely an accquired sight :P

  • i make this in a slow cooker. easier and test great. i do add beef, chicken and pork to it.

  • Hareees???!!

Titili u are the bomb really

gonna make a lot of gulf Arabian ppl pleased :p

my grandma (may Allah bless her soul) used to make the (Dehen) ghee differently ..

mom says tht she used to crush roasted coriander seeds, mix it with little flour then put it into the butter while its melting and let it cook in it and then sieve it ..

  • @GrowingMyBrain I've found that there are all sorts of variants on this dish. Some add cumin seeds, some use straight ghee, some sprinkle sugar on the top...

  • Inshallah ur Ramadhan is going well!!

  • Not the most eye pleasing dish i've seen you make. How's the flavor Titli?

  • @hypnotiqdom I agree. Looks like it was squeezed from a beast, but the taste is amazingly addictive!
