Well some people probably assumed that he was bluffing/playing possum to get a reaction, as that would be my first guess. My brother recently died in a plane crash and ever since he died, I started looking at life in a different perspective. Started realizing how precious life is and that life needs to be enjoyed. You need to get out there and pursue your dreams and passions. Those will make you happy. At least live your life first, and seek help, talk to someone!
And I wanted to add, humanity is not to blame. Its how you look at things and how you think that makes you feel this way. Find out whats making you unhappy and fix the problem. But ask for help.
