This list is very interesting. I own those albums from Katatonia, Agalloch, Killswitch Engage, Novembre, and will own Mercenary's soon. Materia is my favorite album of all time. Great list! Didn't hear any bad bands on here. I'm impressed.

the fact that killswitch engage made this list yet amon amarth is nowhere to be seen prevented me from watching any of it; you clearly have no sense for good metal.
Actually, the whole album is great, lots of great musics and it was hard to choose only one, but choosing July doenst mean I dont like the other songs, it means that July its one of my favorites songs of this great album ;)
july is a good song, whole album is incredible form what I understand... but out off al the songs I've heard, Leaders is the most badass song on the album imho

Why did you label this the Top "Metal" bands? This seems to be all more of a hardcore screaming/growling metal...
If you really were including the best "metal" albums I'm curious if you've ever listened to 10,000 Days from Tool...
All in all, I thought some of these bands had a few catchy riffs.

Agalloch is perhaps the most amazing band out there right now. I hope they release a new album in 2009. And do some tours cause they almost never do.
