There needs to be more education about the black culture in Puerto Rico besides the island itself and NYC. I live in CT right now and whenever someone asks me what my ethnicity is and I answer Puerto Rican, this shocked look emanates from their eyes, along with the occasional, "Really? There needs to be more education about the black culture in Puerto Rico besides the island itself and NYC. I live in CT right now and whenever someone asks me what my ethnicity is and I answer Puerto Rican, this shocked look emanates from their eyes, along with the occasional, "Really? call me "Hey Negro!" which means "Black" or more understandable for the Americans; "Nigga" I won't get offended by any mean, and we call ourselves that way in a common way, even if the other person looks completely white.
