I'm getting a samoyed in a few months and I was wondering if it's hard to wash and dry them without the dog being scared or not cooperating. I've never had a samoyed before and I guess I'm just curious to know if there's any technique's I could use to make the grooming process a pleasant experience! Not something they don't enjoy. Thanks!
@TheMusicGirl48 -- A thorough combing at least once a week is a good idea. The only brush I ever use is a pin brush on Gidget's tail. The comb is key. I keep one in my rucksack (I often comb her sitting on the grass at the Capitol or Lincoln Memorial) and another next to the television remote. I often sit on the floor with Gidget and comb her while watching TV. She invariably falls asleep - she loves being gently combed.
@janetcristina12 The sump pump was purchased at a local hardware store. The brand is Master Plumber. It is a 1/2 hp submersible utility pump. Model# 540114. 115 volt, 3 amps.thermally protected.
@mario7basic Very good question. The best answer is "as often as they need it", but even with that vague answer you'll find that it's not often at all. You will be able to brush out most of the dirt your sammy gets into after it's dried. Many of us only bathe our dogs once every few months.
I am a samoyed owner and he is 1 year old and I have found all 3 parts of your videos to be extremely helpfull. I would love for you to do a final part 4 video on the entire process of properly drying a samoyed because it is so very important that they be properly dried off to avoid any skin problems.
Keep doing helpfull videos like maybe how to train a samoyed or how to deal with eye stain or other samoyed issues.

Hi ! I'll be a samoyed owner in about 3 weeks and I was wondering how often do they need a bath. Some people say twice a year?

This is great -- the sump pump + garden hose is a brilliant technique.
