He was going on a big first date with the girl of his dreams, so while he was in the shower they dismantled his Beetle and reassembled it IN HIS ROOM. Poor guy was late and had to get a taxi. Took him nearly a week to figure out how to get it out of his room. Still, he must have made a good impression cause he married the girl and my Dad was the best man.

@birdboy10 I used to work on them. You can pick up a short engine, (without air cooling cowling, heat exchangers, manifold, generator) on your own. 2 men can easily carry the entire unit. So easy to remove the engine from the car too. I once dropped a customers engine out of their car within 10 minutes of them driving it into the workshop. & that included jacking the car up & putting it on axle stands before I opened the bonnet! After rebuilding it only took 15 minutes to get it in & running.

Actually the build quality is decent. I have one and these cars are like little tanks. They are very durable..and should something breakdown (engine) very affordable to fix. I love my bug.....i dont have a restored one, being that i like the rat rod look.
