are you going to put v-cubes on your store any time soon? i would probably buy a v-5 from you if you did, i don't like to buy things overseas from other countries.
can anyone tell me how i can get to the vcube website cuz i cant get on, it wont let me, if you can help tell me cuz my dad promised to get a v cube black collection for my Bday. omg someone help me!
Yes I got the newsletter this morning - Very cool!
It says that black is limited edition, but I'm sure that just meant that they only did a small run of Blacks - I suspect that they will keep selling them as long as sales are good.
I would say yes as it would be interesting to see how the shipping packaging has changed, if at all, since they revamped their shipping methods a month or so ago.
u just ordered all three of them and now watching ur vid im kind of nervous that my 7x7x7 is gunna have peices out and i have no idea how i would go about putting them in ny suggestions?
Honestly, I think you'd be fine if you waited for the prices on the 5x5 and 6x6 to come down some more before buying. You already have the best cube with the 7x7.
and so u all know, the snapping is so the internal pieces can align, they had to use that coz eastsheen already claimed a better way of doing it for the 4x4
In the video you said that to resticker it would be a bit of a nightmare, you probably already knew but just lettin you know that Cubesmith are sellin replacement sets for like $2.00 n/i shipping.
I read an email Tony Fisher got from Mr. Verdes about the future of V-cubes (Tony posted it on the TP forum). Mr. Verdes explained that V-cubes will not only be shipping in boxes later this year, but he will also offer a return policy that will allow anyone who receives a broken cube the ability to send it back free of charge to get a new one.
heck yeah i have the v-cube 7 the weakness that ifound is wash your hands good before handing cause dirt or black stuff will get under the stickers and you can see them.. happening a little bit to me but the replacing will be nightmare!
It's not being flat that gives it internal parts, it's being of an 'even' number of rows.
The 8x8 will be pillowed like the 7x7 but will have internal parts like the 6x6, as it will essentially be a 9x9 that has no 'head' on the center cross.
The the thing we don't know yet is:
Will the 8x8 be smooth like the 7x7 (because it is pillowed unlike the 6x6) or be rough like the 6x6 (because it has internal parts unlike the 7x7)
In fact they have the same number of pieces, its just that, the piece that makes the center edge on the 7x7 is different on the 6x6 in that it does not have a head and is hidden under the 2 middle edges.
But the 7x7 is soo much smoother.
I haven't done a full side-by-side comparison of internal pieces yet, so I don't know for sure what is causing the snapping.
And it may also come down to tension setting, but I haven't adjusted mine yet.
good youtube tip: whenever you make a video, you will sound like an idiot to yourself, to everyone else you sound like a normal person (which i'm guessing you are :) )
But in the moment, it felt like maybe they used some different tech for the 5x5 and 6x6 as they just did not have the "wow" factor for turning that the 7x7 had.
Having checked out the pieces, I can confirm the technology is the same, but the implementation of the tech does not feel as good in the 5x5 and the 6x6 as in the 7x7.
It may just be a tension-adjustment issue, I'll guess I'll see as time goes by.
Nice job - and you were right. "Let's give this puppy some spinnage." Still, I liked your analysis of the V-cubes and I hope to see more videos in the future.

Whats a safe website for rubiks cubes
chocolatebuncookie 2 years ago
If you are looking for Rubiks-brand products, the Rubiks . com and winning-moves . com are the 'safest' places to shop.
If you are looking for 3x3 Speed Cubes and other twisty puzzles, then my eBay store is a good place to start - stores . ebay . com / PuzzleProz

dozerislife 3 years ago
They have updated their shipping method since I bought and I believe they are shipped in a more safe manner now - And With Cheaper Shipping!
Just the same, you will be able to reassemble the cube without too much hassle.
Just take your time and study the internal mechanism.
It is all very symmetrical and once you take a minute to study it you'll be okay.
The only gotcha is that the pieces don't necessarily go in in the order you might first think.
If so, just try again and you'll be fine.
PuzzleProz 3 years ago
alright thanks man cuz spending 150 bucks on cubes and then them breaking would kind of suck

can i fix the 6x6 so i doesnt click i saw a video its niot click
Henkeace 3 years ago
Which video did you see that doesn't click?
My suggestions, in order that they should be tried, are:
1) Adjust the tension
2) Try lubing it
3) Give a good-faith effort to break it in.
4) Try sanding it <-- Experts only

bobthegiraffemonkey 3 years ago
Actually the 6x6 is the only cube of the 3 that snaps.
In fact the 7x7 is very very smooth.
Turns out the 6x6 is the only 'even' cube offered by V-Cubes right now.
From what I can tell, the snapping is caused by the design of the hidden pieces.
PuzzleProz 3 years ago
Okay, thanks a bunch

ya it's ok now, pops alot and i beat dhl was like throwing the bags around and the bag says fragile lol
esquimalt1 3 years ago
Poor packaging, unfortunately.
They were just stuffed into a paper-thin DHL shipping bag, without any kind of protection, and shipped across the world.
I get padded boxes from DHl that are sometimes almost completely destroyed.
These things never had a chance.

the stickers have the cross thing because of the molding of the pieces.
Vulosity 3 years ago
Yes I realized that a couple minutes after making the video.
In fact I even posted that in the very first comment for this video, but YT pushes older comments down so now it's hard to see it.
PuzzleProz 3 years ago
Dude ur 7x7 broke... you should sue
ArymeZWretched 3 years ago
It's not being flat that gives it internal parts, it's being of an 'even' number of rows.
The 8x8 will be pillowed like the 7x7 but will have internal parts like the 6x6, as it will essentially be a 9x9 that has no 'head' on the center cross.

PuzzleProz 3 years ago
So you're saying that its not just the internal pieces, but also the flat square shape that is keeping it from being smooth?
I'm not sure I agree as my 5x5 is much smoother than 6x6, which, since it is flat too, I attribute more to not having internal pieces.
Then again, it is not as smooth as the 7x7 so hmm...
PuzzleProz 3 years ago
Pillowed shape is only going to make to cube more stable. If the 6x6 was pillowed, it wouldn't really be any smoother.
MACProductioning 3 years ago
LOOOL!
esquimalt1 3 years ago
That is correct, because the pieces that are internal on the 6x6 have a head (center cross) on the 7x7.
But the number of pieces are the same.
Okay, so I suppose I could see that having the pieces be internal could cause a little fore friction when moving.
If that is the case, then the odd-sized cubes are going the winners here (7x7, 9x9, 11x11, 13x13)
But I'm still not entirely sold on that.
PuzzleProz 3 years ago
Yes, but the 6x6 and 7x7 mechanisms are the same.

PuzzleProz 3 years ago
My 5x5 doesn't seem to pop no matter what, but my 6x6 and 7x7 have both "esploded" on me.
The 6x6 has been the worst, esploding multiple times.
PuzzleProz 3 years ago
how much was shipping?
ChrisBrandariz 3 years ago
The total order cost was 151 euro, which converted at the time to about $240USD
The total (rounded) breakdown was:
25 euro for the V5
39 euro for the V6
48 euro for the V7
33 euro for shipping
6 euro fee for paying with paypal

Yeah, another quotable from me.
But in the moment, it felt like maybe they used some different tech for the 5x5 and 6x6 as they just did not have the "wow" factor for turning that the 7x7 had.

PuzzleProz 3 years ago
but what if the 5x5 cuts corners ? ive heard it does
surfer4ddict 3 years ago
Yes it does corner.
In fact the corner pieces extend far down into the core, so it would be very hard to pop them.
But with so many edge pieces, they pop a little easier if the cube locks in a turn.

Some quick updates:
This was my first 'real time, no retake' video, so please forgive my dorkiness in some parts.
I lost track of time and the full video is just over 12 minutes long, so I had to cut some scenes for time.
The "lines" on the stickers turned out to actually be mold lines on the cubies.
Each cube has some flash on it and bubbles under some stickers.
Some of the faces (on the 6x6 more than others) had poor sticker placement which really shows when it is scrambled.
