  • I love this song too much. I'm always astounded at how deep he can go. All his songs touch me but this is the only one that makes me click replay endlessly.... :((

When I first heard this I almost cried at how breathtaking this song was, it's not just the lyrics- his voice makes this song what it is - a masterpiece....

  • Try im wide awake it morning for lime treeish songs

  • @addictioner what???? O_o

  • .....and they try to make me study The Wasteland in school.

Until I see Connor Oberst in my childs high school curriculum I am going to assume that the high school is wasting his time.

  • @Porojukaha The Wasteland is an excellent poem and you'd do well to study it.

  • @Porojukaha also the schools teach what they can teach. Until people write thesis's and work to get those thesis's published and recognized then the schools can't teach it. It is as simple as that my good friend with good taste in music!

  • So desperate, so overhelming. I think I believe in this band more than in anything.

  • Oh, Conor.

    He does it everytime.

  • @hawknelsonisthebest Does what? I think he mostly simmers and spazzes vocally, emphasis on the spaz. His lyrics are obviously really good though.

I really like the mixes on Lime tree and Make a plan to love me. Still, I only bought those, LIFTED and a few more tracks: Train under water, An attempt to tip the scales, and June on the west coast.

I'll go to the ep's next, but I can see why he's not super popular.

  • @hawknelsonisthebest blah blah, I sound mean. He's great.. just after obsessively scouring his catalog for another Lime Tree I'm constantly thinking, "Wow, he's yelling in frustration AGAIN?"

  • @finalmattasy are you kidding? There is no frustration in this song. Read the lyrics bub. Its about fornication, specifically visiting a prostitute, and how it steals your spirit and your soul and leaves you desolate and dead inside. Its almost like he took a verse from the bible and gave it more poetic words and more emotional expression as a haunting short story. At the end he isn't screaming in frustration, its the screaming of a damned soul.

  • @Porojukaha I was referring to my opinion of his work as a whole, not this song in particular. I like your interpretation of this song though.

  • Thanks for the link Will O'! :)

  • @LostSubsForever
