GT5 Evo 9 with titanium exhaust sound and engine idling sound

I think the evo 9 sounds best with sports exhaust..well it makes it sound more like it does in real life...especially around 4-6k rpm

i to have noticed the sound is off but alot of people have to understand that their friends cars that have been modded have probably got different style parts, its amazing how many different sounds can come out of one single car just by changing one piece of the exhaust ;) i believe the sound is rather close to that of a HKS exhaust one of my mates has on his evo 9

@Simplemindedgenius finally someone with common sense. People doesnt really know that PD did record every car sound when they made GT2 and kept doing that ever since. But heck, people tends to believe NFS has real sounds where even regular shopping kart car sounds like a huge monster (Fiat Punto in Most Wanted) And now, because FM4 3-cylinder engine cars does sound like a WRC, why those really doesnt sound like that at all, but thats more "real" to people who doesnt know anything about cars

@Sampyla20plus Exactly, Why people think that polyphony has a man with a keyboard emulating engine noises is just silly, all you need to do is go watch any of Kaz's diaries and you can see how much research goes into reproducing accurate, Correct engine noises. Most of the silly noises you hear from GT are after people have put after market exhausts and cat on in the tuning shop. It's bound to alter the noise. The engine noises in GT are some of the most accurate around.

@Simplemindedgenius Aye, and big part is made with sound system player is having, huge difference between 7.1 surround compared to telly's own speakers, while most these nonsense videos are made with hand camera recording from tv screen, so naturally it will sound worse than it really is, some people just dont get it, it's always like "Wait, I got this link to the anohter Youtube video, it prooves everything" and cant even see the actual joke in that like comment.

Because they actually record the REAL engine noises of cars for GT5. I don't care for Forza. This is a GT5 video. Saying the vacuum cleaner comment is just boring now and is clear you have never played the game.

I wouldn't care if the sound in GT5 was just a little off, but its not even that. its nothing close to real life. I dont think they use real engine noises

@sl0wm0 If you don't think that they use real engine sounds then you should watch 2 videos that will prove you wrong and put these vacuum cleaner comments to bed once and for all. The first is "Gran Turismo 4: Behind the scenes" (To prove the standard cars in gt5 all have real life engine sounds recorded from their real life counterparts) and a two part video called "Beyond the apex" from when work started on GT5 Prologue.

Another thing you can do that makes the sound a lot better is under audio settings is change it from small room to theater. It makes the sounds deeper and more realistic.

Or the supra..mmmmmm than try replace the Mufler on some of your cars from RACE to Sports or semysports... alwais use standard transmision so u can hear the exaust/engine... (use the Hud vew)

I gotta agree with @KCRskidder and @RSROBXR2 the engine sounds are horriable in GT5 i am i Huge GT5 fan and i almost play every day, i wish they had a Turbo or some sort of blow off valve sound to cars once turbo is installed its a shame of 5 years of making not even simple turbo sounds go off :S

@KCRskidder Yes GT5's sounds are bad. And I'd agree that Forza's sounds are slightly better than GT5's. But I think from a console standpoint NFS Shift has them nailed. When I race cars in real life, i hear more of the gearbox than the engine and exhaust combined. NFS Shift 2 is the only console game that has that part nailed to the bone. Now if you want to talk perfection... iRacing FTW!
