  • I did this to my xbox once, and instead of bothering with a power brick, I just spliced up a USB cable and drew 5v from the Xbox 360 itself. Nice and tidy.

  • Won't throwing air into the xbox cause the RROD?

  • @vze21gwa Why the hell would it do that?

  • thanks man you save my money

  • Where the fan blowing?

receive from the outside to inside or

    Does taking the inside out?

  • Im Going To Re Make This Video But Do It Internally And Have The Fans Running At 12 Volts

  • why not just go to futureshop and get a chillmat for a laptop??that would work wouldnt it?

  • you do know you can buya xbox made fan for 10 bucks :p

  • shlopple at 4:15

  • @topod1 i mean 4:14

  • should of used 3 80mm fans would of been correct width and depth and xbox would be able to be lay flat rather than on top of something, nice vid tho

  • a person who is afraid of electricity would hate this video. who gives a crap that is cheap. but it works!!

  • @agello24 the electricity inside the xbox cant harm you because its only 12v the mains is in power brick

  • that does shit you have to cut a hole in the side of the metal case or it just does FUCK ALL!

  • this is realy easy to do!!! I could do this with my eyes closed lol. I am going steps farther and opening my case.

  • lol if the game is good u won't here the fan

  • dpnt use a external power sullpy, plug it into the xbox's usb port

  • You should cut the side grill off, use a dremel tool to do it. Then keep the outer plastic side panel detached at all times. Mount the fans w/ 9v instead of 5v or 12v. It will stay silent enough as the air doesn't have to hit the plastic then the metal grilling inside. That's why it's loud. If you cut the metal grill and the plastic or leave the plastic bit off, even 12v will not be as loud and it will cool your unit by another 5C at least.

  • Also do a custom shroud to increase the airflow. Create a custom shroud for the HS and a duct that takes air from the side fans, and throws it into the shroud. Google Xenon shroud mod etc.

  • I had the same idea!

  • that would work alot better IF YOU FUCKING TOOK THE PLASTIC VENT OFF!

  • wouldnt it be better to take 12volts directly from the 360

that way there is no external power supply and the fans will spin faster

  • @OhNoNotMyPenis 12V will make the fans spin faster, but they are also much much louder: too much for my liking. This is the reason why I did not use 12V. This was it's super quiet - just the way i like it. If you don't mind the noise or if you manage to get ultra quiet fans, then it sounds like a plan.

  • @thephiber This also won't void the warranty.

  • @OhNoNotMyPenis it is not that easy to plug an 12volt fan into and xbox. newer 360s have 3 pin connectors and older ones have a 4 pin but either way its not that easy

  • @piesnotgood

why would you use the fan connector, thats controled by the consoles temp.

just find a 12volt point and solder it to that, job done. and yes its very simple to do

  • @OhNoNotMyPenis he dusnt want to open his xbox

  • @piesnotgood 4pin is easy just push wire in top on 4 pin in correct shot and bing bong

  • WER CAN U GET THE FANS

  • @marc0s1323 Hi, any computer shop.

  • @thephiber Hi are the case fans for a pc or internal fans for a pc and does it make any difference?

  • @marc0s1323 or u can get ones with led lights from ebay thats whati did

  • But i would replace the power adapter with a usb cable so it turns on when i turn the xbox on :3

  • Omg i gatta do this when i get my xbox cause i could easily game for 10 hours and i live in ottawa so it can be pretty hot on some days :p

  • @axlemaz Sounds good! Keep me updated ;)

  • @axlemaz Interesting question! I'd say: go with the (air) flow. You want to avoid pulling air out if the internal system is trying to make it circulate through the console. Instead, you wanna use your additional fans to increase and strengthen the existing air flow. If I recall correctly (I don't have the xbox anymore) I used this configuration as it helped in that way. Hope it makes sense.

  • Chears man

  • Very Very nice. I never wanted to do solder the 12V from the board and installed two of these Fans on top of 360...

  • you talk alot!

  • If you dont have any spare power supplies around, check out a local thrift store or goodwill/salvation army store. They usually have a pile of them, and you can pick and choose one for one or two bucks with a voltage you need.

I would get a 12v personally, because I have done the llamma xclamp fix, and I have successfully fixed the RROD 3 times now, and unless it gets some good ventilation its just gonna melt again. 12v might be overkill, but who cares, I just want the thing to stay alive.

  • nice video man gg xD if i put another 2 like ur at side where have the 2 original its any prob?

  • @TuDyNo1 If you put some other fans on the side where the original fans are, check that: 1. the air is flowing in the same direction - the air should be circulating though the console. 2. the output air flow of the fans you add is similar to the original fans: you don't wanna add very strong or very weak fans as it would prevent optimal air flow. hope that makes sense! cheers!

  • Hey thanks I did it :) I got a led fan for 10 dollars used a USB and it worked I and its quiet fan speed is ok.

  • Cool thanks I am planning on doing this one question you think if I use a USB cable it will still be quite? I might just do yours.

  • @AGZraider15 Hi! I think if you use a USB it'll be fine: i have checked the USB characteristics on wikipedia it says the maximum voltage for a USB is 5V: basically if you have 12V fans and you use a USB - which gives 5V max - it'll be quiet :) You might wanna try it first to see if the fans aren't too slow, but my guess is that it'll be just fine :) Let us know how it goes!

  • You could have just used a USB cord

  • :D Thanks for the video.

I had a laptop cooler, and gutted it out and did what you said to do w/ the wire ties and it works like a charm!

  • @CorruptedNation Thanks for the comment :) Glad I could help!
