  • It was always 1:05 that gave me the rippling energy feeling inside. Underrated indeed, yet thankfully not unappreciated. Just like the movie itself, I don't actually understand why that is.

  • the kids voices give me chills. I wish they would make that part longer than like 4 seconds.

  • Have you noticed it has ZERO dislikes? :)

  • Amazing !

  • amazing! absolutely amazing! this always gives me chills :)

  • James Newton Howard is my ultimate favorite for a long time now. I want him to compose the music for the movie which will be made from my second novel. He's a genius. I almost cried around 1:45 I haven't heard this song for years and it's so powerful.

  • Atlantis, and Dinosaur. My most favored childhood movies from 2000-2001 and I still absolutely adore them

  • This movie is one of my all-time favorites. I don't know why it's not up there with Aladdin and Cinderella - Atlantis is a masterpiece.

  • @ArcaneFortune Give it a few years, maybe another decade or two. Believe me, tried and true Disney movies will always be remembered.

  • You know, when Ca. Adventures came out. I remember that one year just before, or several years just before. I was staying at Travelodge down on Katella where I usually stayed and walked across the big parking lot to DL. But that one time, they were building DCA and I had to walk around several construction sites. So when this soundtrack came out, it was just in time for DCA grand opening, and they had the Eureka Parade. This, DCA, and that parade just awesome together. It really fit.

  • I remember seeing this movie at the theater. When this scene played the music just glued me to the screen. I didn't blink for at least four minutes straight. After the movie came out on VHS tape I watched like once every other weekend. I’m still wondering if the Heart of Atlantis has the ability to see into the future or not.

  • Ah, Atlantis: the one movie that jump-started my imagination.

  • I've been listening to this song nonstop for the past two hours. Can I resist!? It's just too amazing to turn down a listen...

  • Beautiful :).

Does anyone here want to search for Atlantis with me? I have a submarine round the back :D.

  • @mrsmodest Count me in(:

  • this song is pretty cool

  • I've never cried when I saw this movie before, and god, I've seen it times and times again, but now I'm cring, just for the music...

  • One of the most underrated film scores of all time

  • at California Adventure in the animation room it was always so enchanting to walk in just as the Atlantis part would start playing and it was this song right at like 1:04. its my favorite. apparently they're changing the animation they play in there now though.. =/

  • Whats this type of music called with like native vocals and stuff?? its not like under the genre 'opera' or 'classic' right??

  • @nickevolet well, this kind of music is under "Film score"

As for that, I'm not sure. The genres are kind of all over the place, they can be new age, or even classified as rock. I think you just have to classify them by each individual song. :/

I'm sorry, I'm not much help. *chuckles*

  • what is being said at 1:09?

  • 1:08 is them main reason i'm here, it's so enchanting makes you feel magical :)

  • Really, just an increadibly highly underrated Disney animation. While it wasn't there "best" it was different enough to set it apart from the rest. Im pretty sure if this beautiful peice weren't in the movie I would have dismissed it like so many others have. Its very enchanting....

  • this part always gives me chills :)

  • i wish this language was real :(

  • from 1:08 to 1:22 is the best bit!!!! I love it!

  • snakedemon11: I think that Avatar was inspired by LeGuin's book "The word for world is forest" - the only difference is that there were little green aliens not tall, blue aliens :)

  • Although this movie is a playoff of pocahontas, Avatar is more based off THIS than pocahontas. I realized it when the young mexican girl was in both films. But the ideas are the same with flying through the air and attacking the people who want to destroy them all and take what is their most precious power source (or spiritual source), and it all seems to go more with Atlantis, even though both find their roots in Pocahontas.

  • Fun fact about this song- James Newton Howard originally composed this as a sample piece to showcase what music would be in the film. The director loved it so much that he wanted it in the movie.

  • This track inspired a fanfiction story written by my friend. It's a Avatar (2009) story though, but I can see how she got the idea.

  • I think this is my favorite track. It's so beautiful and mystical...plus, I love the Atlantean chanting, even if it isn't a real language.

  • it's such a beautiful song, the moment when kida says to milo it will be alright

    beautiful just simply beautiful

  • My favorite part is 0:00 - 3:46 8DDD

  • omg i almost cried at 1:09 i love that song ... it reminds me those days when i was a little child! i cried so much!

  • @okamipower me too!

  • *shiver*

  • This is one of the best music tracks from any disney movie...why didn't it win an award for it??

  • @cgsilverscreen2020 because people suck. That's why D:

  • 1:19 O= WOW that's Epic

  • they have a giant glowing orb of blue energy that animates stone robots that shoot blue beams of energy.

no wonder the gods sunk them.....

    WITH A NUKE.

(in reference to the opening sequence of ATLE)

  • @jonanlsh Well it could've been another form of pure energy the gods used, like unrestricted nuclear fission? It did look like a PTND(Precision Tactical Nuclear Device) of a yield at around...5 kilotons? Just guessing. But according to the collector's edition DVD and official website timeline, the Crystal or Heart of Atlantis is actually a chunk-piece of a meteorite's core that fell to earth thousands of years ago on the island of Atlantis.

  • favorite track from this movie!

  • Omg does 1:08 and there after give me such huge chills down my back!

I actualy remember seeing this movie in theaters the scene in which this song takes place is pretty breathtaking and intense and has always left a memory in the back of my head.

  • 1:09 ♥

  • sounds sooo magical and spiritual drives me into the world of Atlantis

  • Tout simplement magnifique. Cette musique est incroyable... !

  • This is real music.

  • 1:10-2:59 was my favorite part :P (It gives me chills) ;)

  • this is creepy but amazing

  • this had a bit of an egyptian feel to it in the beginning with the pan flute in it but then it turns out to be an adventure song i love it!!!

  • i dont know of many music pieces i could listen to 20 times and still get chills on the 20th time.

  • @bloomairy34 yea, yea it IS troooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bien :3

  • I love how the kid voice sings in 1:09. It just gives u the chills XD

  • those disney bastards, they also copied the earth symbol.

atlantis the lost city of the ancients.

not the lost city of the disney docuhebag's.

they copied off of stargate atlantis

  • @chevron8locked I'm pretty sure this movie came out long before Stargate: Atlantis.

  • @chevron8locked This came before ST Atlantis, genius.

  • @chevron8locked this piece of art came loooooooooong before Stargate Atlantis. Plus ST Atlantis sucked a lot.

  • @chevron8locked As already stated, this movie was released before SG: Atlantis even began

This movie premiered in 2001 - SG: Atlantis began in 2004.

How can you copy off something that doesn't exist yet, I wonder.

  • @Fraeir Oh, I thought you were talking about Miyazaki's Castle in the Sky...Disney got the license about 3 years before they actually put it out, but Atlantis came out before it did...gee, I wonder where they got their ideas from? X(

Oh well, anyone who's watched both movies knows that they went their seperate ways, even if they came form the same basic ideas. They may be related and inspired by the same muse, but they stand apart as their own movies. Disney's still got it somewhere in them!

  • At 1:47, i can kinda hear the cyrstal making that light explosion on her necklace. in fact, i can kinda hear everything that goes on in the scene just by what's going on in the music.

  • Magical... Just amazing.

  • is there anywhere i can download this?

  • i love 1:10 andafter it's so dramatic and beautiful!

  • my favourite part has to be 2:05, beautiful!

  • 1:10 <3

  • I love this song so much <3

Its nice and soothing yet mysterious~!

  • Who composed and conducted this fine piece?

  • It was composed by James Newton Howard and conducted by Pete Anthony.

  • @Kissanruoka4400 IIIIIIIIIIIIII DID!!!!!!!!

  • I love this song, it's so meaningful and mysterious. It brings back memories when I was a kid, and I still love this movie. I'll watch it any day.

I wonder what language the child is speaking starting at 1:10

  • You mean at the beginning? She is speaking Atlantean, which was created specifically for this movie.

  • Oh, so it's not an official language. It does sound nice though. I'd love to learn it if it existed.

  • @90morena it might exist, we just dont know that yet

  • @90morena there is a site that DOES have atlantic, it's nice to learn and talk but not that easy, you just have to search for atlantic or atlantis language

  • @90morena No, not an official language, but it IS sung by the Russian Opera. VERY good voices singing. You should listen to the rest of the songs the Russian Opera has sung.

  • @90morena I think it's an official language, but If this is really the language I think it is, than it's latin ;)

  • @90morena Eh, dunno if you'll even look at this, but if you look at Atlantis: The Lost Empire on Wikipedia, there is a page on it that talks about the language. I've not really looked at it, but I am sure going to.

  • Loved it! It totally has an important role as inspiration to my story :)

Unfortunately I didn't back up my hard-drive & lost the song along with others. -_- Thanks for uploading :D
