Cool, I'm going to make this with a nitrate salt method. I see the detonation velocity is around 6000m/s which is pretty good. How large of a cap will i need to detonate it using TATP for example? Also what are your yields like? (in %%%)

Not sure I don't have enough room to det at the moment. I suggest straight acid, even HCl will do, yields are very high sorry I don't know the percent.

HUNchemist really didn't know what he was doing though fyi. His video of a picric acid synthesis provides such evidence.

No I haven't and that's because it won't deflagrate, it detonates with a fairly large cap.

HDN uses the 70% Nitric acid concentration. Meaning if you had 95% White Nitric Acid, you will be able to synthesis RDX.

The process for making RDX is not nearly as simple as replacing 70% nitric acid with 99% nitric acid in a HDN synthesis.

Are you dyslexic? HDN is not the same as HMTD they both start with H but they are different. They are both high explosives made from hexamine but HMTD is a primary and HDN is a secondary.

o i looked at another video that basically answered my question,what i was trying to say but kinda slurred out on it(i was tired)was did it need a blasting cap to go off?the reason why i called it a non explosive was because it was quite late my time and was confused,i forgot my sense that some explosives such as nitroglycerin and ANFO need a blasting cap to go off,otherwise they just burn(which is deflag)no duh haha sorry for the confusion

what i ment was, was this just very impure?or is it impact senistive?because it burns slower than powdered kno3/sucros mix and i wouldnt really call potassium nitrate and sugar and explosive,well i guess it could act about as fast bp if mixed correctly,and HEY im not entirely into pryotechnics now but i know about and have made enough explosives and powders and crap to be able to call myself at least "smart"

mine was't dried in a desiccator but 1 hour or so after adding nitric acid it was filtered and washed with alcohol/acetone. water will destroy HDN.
