all OTF double action autos I've ever had/seen have a lot a wiggle. They don't have a solid lock in the deployed state. I heard these single action ones were better. How's the lock up on these? Is there any wiggle?
is there a safety switchon this knife so that it doesnt pop out in your pocket? or is the button need enough force to push down that it doesnt need a safety switch?
They don't come dull, it depends on the manufacturer's specs. Remember that some are made in China and others made in Taiwan and there is a big difference with quality on them. Then a knife's sharpness is a personal choice as well because some people like to have them razor sharp to shave an arm with. Sharpening a knife can be done with quite a few tools it all depends on what the person is comfortable with and the level of sharpness they require. Best results are with a stone and oil.
It is really personal choice. I find that sharpening stones and oil work the best. AssistedKnife is my website. The problem with stones is that you have to be careful of the angle that you use when sharpening. Go to AssistedKnife then click on the tab Knife Information and then the Knife Sharpening and this will explain it to you completely so you can make an educated choice.
is the chinese one the one with the smooth black handle? cuz mine has more of rough handle but i have had both versions and i really dont see any difference
Because China sells junk. The Taiwanese care about quality control. Smith & Wesson and Boker both have products made in Taiwan and they carry warranties. China simply makes cheap junk, which serves its purpose for disposable products but nothing with quality or collectibility.
Yes, it is based of Robbie Dalton's Cupid, that is the original if you can find one they are $400 or so. This is a clone just the same as the Cupid model but has the partially serrated blade and is much better quality than the Chinese Cupid clone.
Roadsideimports. I live in Indiana and it is illegal it carry an automatic knives. I saw on a website that sells these switch blades and i didn't see any shipping restriction, so i'm guessing they would ship to any state?
Just asking, because you seem to know a alot about automatic knives.
I could care less what other websites do, I sell items at my online store and that is it. It is the responsibility of the buyer not the seller to adhere to the law period that is how the internet works. I state all applicable laws in short on my website at AssistedKnife
Obviously you don't take the time to read anything there are version made in China and versions made in Taiwan, obviously the prices are different. Buy the original model by Dalton its only $200
The Original is the best by Dalton, the rest are just clone copies from varying different Chinese and Taiwanese copy cat makers. So depends which clone were are talking about of each models so there is no definitive answer other than to buy a Dalton.
Like I said it depends which clone maker made the Cupid or the Militia. If it was a cheap China made Cupid vs. a Taiwanese Militia then the Militia is better, if it was a China made vs. China made then they would take a draw, if it were a Taiwanese vs a Chinese then the Taiwanese is better. So there is no answer because it depends on which clone manufacturer we are talking about because both places make these and it depends what people are selling, people don't bother to figure that one out
Yeah probably to carry around with you. Depends on the state but there are exemptions for collections and use on private property but depends on the state.
Unfortunally I live in Washington State were evern carrying the smallest knife is illegal. I read my state laws, I know that carrying a knife is about the dumbest thing you can do but I think they can also get you by just owning one, which I think is somewhat stupid.
What are you talking about "get you" Is there a "Buggy Man" in Washington State that goes around on private property and finds things for a secret agency and has you locked up? They are legal for all Military Persons, all Law Enforcement, and all persons with one arm, everywhere in the US. Ownership to civilians or non-qualified persons depends on the state there are alot of places where they are illegal to carry but legal to own by the second amendment.
I think the Lightning, is better because the trigger is on the spine so it is much safer to carry and it comes with a pocket clip, but ultimately is is more what you like as a design yourself.
California is apart of the United States, there is no customs to deal with when shipping in the US. Why would it not reach you? Do you have some kind of fake address? Does the Postal Service not deliver to California? What are you worried about? I use tracking with all my items so I know when they are delivered. I run a business not a scam shop.
That's not going to happen, this isn't an international shipment, you're not dealing with customs. Last time I check the land of fruit and nuts is still apart of the US.
well i read the laws and it said nothing about it being illegal to own it just to lend it,or the driver or passenger to carry it, ect...and i would just keep it on my private property....so you tell me would it be ok even no i live in california?
I'm not an attorney, I never got my bar so I can't practice law, all I do is provide the information because ultimately it is your responsibility to do the research, I merely helped people find it. Second Amendment of the Constitution. Private Property Laws. Yeah you did your homework.
so like you could ship this knife to me even no the blade is over 2 inches...how many switch blades have you succsesfully sold and shipped to california without getting cought???......
What are you talking about? I run a business, it is your responsibility to adhere to the law, all the terms and conditions are on my site and the laws are posted for every state. Owning an item is one thing and carrying it into public is completely different. If you want into a bar with a butcher knife it is illegal. Is the knife therefore illegal? Or just the circumstances? You are responsible to learn and adhere to all applicable laws.
Okay, I've decided I want to buy this knife. Only problem is that I live in Canada, and knives such as this one are illegal. And I doubt it would make it through customs. Have you shipped any knives like this to Canada before?
I have another question, why is it that some knives like this are all usually aroun 50 bucks, but then on other sites can be as high as 200, is it because of higher quality, or like a "paying for the brand" kinda thing?
Is there a kit for your knife available on your site?

True statement, the knife blade slides in a channel
Some have more blade play than others.
The militia is a good model for the price.

is there a safety switchon this knife so that it doesnt pop out in your pocket? or is the button need enough force to push down that it doesnt need a safety switch?
milantexe 3 years ago
There is no safety on this one, the plain edge model Cupid has the safety. The button is recessed in so this helps unwanted opening.

could you tell me what kind of sharpener I should use on this since they come dull

They don't come dull, it depends on the manufacturer's specs. Remember that some are made in China and others made in Taiwan and there is a big difference with quality on them. Quality of components used. No visual difference but what type of materials used is then the issue and the durability of it as well.
Roadsideimports 3 years ago
Nice looking knife, but I think I'll stick to a frame lock Buck Knife.
DonutGuard 3 years ago
does this knife lock when its deployed. like if i stab something really hard will the blade be sturdy enough not to go back in?
smackysam 3 years ago
The button deploys the blade and locks it into place the button must be pressed again to close it and then manually retracted.

what makes the china version of this knife worse than the Taiwan version?

Because China sells junk. The Taiwanese care about quality control. Smith & Wesson and Boker both have products made in Taiwan and they carry warranties. China simply makes cheap junk, which serves its purpose for disposable products but nothing with quality or collectibility.

Militia is in stock as well as the Paragon models.

how do you make the blade shinier? more bright and silver?
newgoblin36 3 years ago
Polish it man. Take some turtle wax, buff that shit. You can use a bench mount buffer or a Dremel model or by hand. Wax on, Wax off.
