  • All i want is you, YEAH! this is AWSOME!!

  • The 21st c. woman. Totes 20th c guitar and song.

    I was born too early.

  • You know when Jimi Hendrix started a controversy after he played The Star Spangled Banner on his electric guitar at Woodstock. Seeing as St Vincent likes to make pop culture references, I wonder if that is what she was doing?

  • I saw st. vincent about a month ago, and this bitch behind me called out for this song in between every song. If you are that obnoxious brat, and you are reading this comment, please don't ever call out song names at a concert ever again. thanks.

  • 1:49 she fucked up but just smiled and kept playing like the boss that she is haha :]

  • I think the point was to add her own spin on it, like the way she purposefully struggles a lot with the "I"s when she's doing the verse...it's very much like the idiosyncracies within her own compositions...I think she has an incredibly original and significant style of her own...and she's really fucking cute and hot at the same time...genius is sexy, in her case, at least...

  • Yes!

  • Annie Clark makes playing the guitar look effortless!

  • If I lived downstairs from her I'd be yelling "It's late! Turn that God Damned guitar....UP!!"

  • The fact that someone like her is covering "Dig A Pony" is an honor to John. She's awesome and amazing and he was the greatest ever.

  • Best version ever. John would be proud to hear this. You really, really, really do this song proud!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome

  • nice...

  • Yep, good guitar player...

  • My balls are soaking wet

  • harmony bobkat!!!

  • girls that rock..st vincent tops em all

  • Damn she's god the feeling going on!

  • She sounds way better without her band !

  • holy shit...

  • Could this be de-whooped?

  • Hendrix would have loved this girl.

  • @taikoking1 Haha! So right!

  • This makes porn look like Sunday school.

  • Does she ever sweat?

  • @cashmoneymarvelous nope shes perfect

  • Hooooly Shith !

  • this made me throw up

  • This made my nips hard.

  • I'm in love. Really, this does things to me from 2:45. Oh yeah, and I prefer this to the original.

  • girls need to play guitar like this more often.

  • @followHimnotUs PEOPLE need to play guitar like this more often.

  • @thenoiboi TRUTH.

  • @thenoiboi ANIMALS need to play guitar like this more often. okay maybe just humans.

  • @followHimnotUs They do trust me.

  • I feel the same wind blowing

  • the dude in the end spanked her

  • HOTTEST PERSON ON EARTH

  • Her hair is beautiful, just like polly styrene's.

  • i hope you know ryan dicks loves you

  • she is my crush. wow. 0.o

  • sith

  • Love her!

  • Holy Shit, what kind of Fuzz does she use?

  • @Jasonweckard fuzz factory

  • @nicholaspatrickhill Any idea what Annie uses in regard to guitars, amps, other effects? Love some of the sounds she gets.

  • @PTS74 Her basic sound is those old Harmony Bobkats through a blackface Fender. As far as pedals go, she's got quite a board. The Digitech Whammy is a mainstay and she uses it for all the pitch shifting. I think she's using an Eventide Pitchfactor as well these days. She mentioned it at a show. Other pedals over the years include a Sitori Sonics Tapeworm, the Fuzz Factory, a couple of Moogerfoogers (MuRF, Delay, and Ring Mod, I believe), Fulltone Fulldrive, Boss OC-2, a POG, and a Line 6 Dl4.

  • @nicholaspatrickhill Very informative, thanks a lot!

  • what kind of guitar is that?

  • Annie Clark makes porn with her guitar!

  • 31 people died cause how amazing this cover is. poor poor souls :(

  • hendrix reincarnation or what !!! awesome !

  • @markiyoflores not quite hendrix status, but she shreds thats for sure

  • Guitar is great- but then she has to oprn her mouth

  • Shes such a badass.

  • I hope when I grow up I can be bitter and angry, too. In the meantime, I guess just appreciating the performance will have to do.

  • I like how every time you search for "the beatles dig a pony" Annie Clark's cover comes out to

  • She's too much!

  • Shreds.

  • what effect is on that 2nd mic when she's singing the chorus?

  • @24luisbivar Sounds like chorus or some kind of rotary speaker effect

  • @24luisbivar I think that the microphone doubles her voice

  • tasty guitar... wish she would have played this song with a band though!!

  • Awesome, thank you Colin Hanks!

  • She's evil, she is just evil!

  • I have to learn how to do this.

  • I can't stop watching this. She most of what I aspire to be.

  • what kind of drive or effect is using in the guitar?

  • @robetum for the solo, she's using a zvex fuzz factory.

  • Oh God...

  • sexiest shit ever

  • I think I'm in love. that was wonderful.

  • She reminds me quite a bit of PJ Harvey, but with a great voice and without an attitude that she just wants to kick the snot outta any guy who steps in her way (though I think SV could!).

  • How do I get this guitar tone?

  • its the girl version of andrew stockdale!

  • Tu voz si, tu guitarra no.

  • she's got some soul to her guitar playting that's for sure. The Beatles would have loved this version.,

  • i like the voice effect, there aren't version better than the orginial, lennon rocks!!

  • auuuuuuuuuuu harmony bobkat!

  • It's a very nice cover...I like her style.

  • didn't like it. nothing against her abilities ... just didn't like it.

  • Fucking mass cool!!!

  • i dig the fact that she is on her own, but it would be interesting if she had a backing band also.

  • she's not Amish

  • Dang a female who can actually play guitar, i never thought i would see the day.

  • Hooooooooow amazing she is. :-) most kickass chick alive and john lennon would have dug it!

  • Heh, the starting's funny

  • Taurus you're a real asshole. Alot of good musicians use distortion. She does this song justice. For you to say if she's around in 5 years you'll give her props. Your musical low breeding is showing.

  • @packerdudec But in Taurus' defense let's keep in mind that John Lennon never distorted his voice or guitar (If you didn't catch the sarcasm in that statement you should Ernest Hemmingway yourself)

  • she is so damn sexy at like 2:44 - __

  • First time I saw her live was in this festival. Felt in love of her music 30 seconds into her set.

  • annie so cool......

  • annie so cool.......

  • Nice Harmony Bobkat H15!!

  • @taurus1269 - aren't you late for work at the 7-11? you zero talent, frustrated waste of human flesh. Accomplish something artistic with YOUR life, before YOU "pose" on here as someone with the credibility to criticize others.

  • LOL....That's why there's a comment section. If the poster was so sensitive then he or she would have turned off the comments section. How egotistical is it to expect only positive comments when you're using a "FREE SERVICE"...talk about entitlement...you do realize that to create a site like this takes real computer knowledge and not just a Macbook and iphone that mommy and daddy bought you for getting into "art school", right?

  • Comment removed

  • @taurus1269 man... i'd never heard her before i saw this and i'm loving it. she's awesome. stop trolling and just enjoy something cool.

  • @taurus1269

That's a stupid argument. Britney Spears and Madonna have been around for well over 5 years. Does that make them closer to being a true artist compared to Annie Clark (St. Vincent)?

This girl has great compositional skills. Listen to her albums Marry Me and Actor. If you're too lazy to do that then please watch this clip of her playing her original song "Marrow" , which she composed entirely by herself, live on Letterman.

    /watch?v=9zVlr-ynnAI

  • literally just fell in love. any girl who can play a guitar like that has a place in my heart :p

  • Bien fait!

  • She surprisingly butchered the lyrics a bit (second and fourth verses) + the constant replacement of the "you" by a "we". But damn it... I think this makes her even "awesomer" lol (she brought her shoulders forward and laughed @ the immediate-self-acknowledgment) + we've seen her doin' it completely perfect before this performance . I would paralyze crossing paths w/ her...

  • love her voice

  • Disliked it. That's no good.

  • I love St. Vincent and I love this song.... but her version didn't do it for me :(

  • I dont think Lennon dug too many covers of his songs, for those of you saying he no doubt would love this. He had a very specific way of hearing his compositions in his head, like Stravinsky or Michael Jackson or Eminem...this is one of my top ten Beatles songs, and I don't think you can top the Let it Be version. This is fun to hear, Ive never heard of her and she definitely did a good job with the song, but I doubt Lennon, who was often critical of his own work, would enjoy this.

  • true that brotha

  • the quest for tone continues way on for her in my book.. i feel and hear the CLASH between harmony and fuckn dirt noise overdrive guitar.. the beatles i think would not be content hearing this one.. lol.. damn girl.. and i like MUDDY.. especially as a dirt grunge blues guitar player myself.. but whoa.. that trebble!!!

  • Good performance but not something I'd want to hear more than once.

  • @howie9751 lolwut?

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YES YES YES!!!

  • definitely a great cover, dont listen to those who tell you otherwise, you put so much soul and feeling and into it not to mention youre a great guitar player

  • You are full of shit nowibleedroses, it is a great performance!!. and duoclassicproject yes the guitar is too much overdrive but ir works so good!! Marry me St Vincent.

  • awesome vocals, medium guitar player.

    guitar is too much overdrived

  • @duoclassicproject

overdrived ma ass! this is rock and roll bitches!

  • heh she effing killed it ! she is incredible

  • when will God sends a woman like her knocking on my door?

  • @urtruedarkfriend With a woman like that, God is gonna force you to chase after her constantly

  • @urtruedarkfriend you have to approach them man! never works the other way!

  • @urtruedarkfriend I don't think God can make another woman like this. It'd be too difficult to reproduce.

  • Nice! It's not just anyone who can redo some Beatles & you actually want to hear it.

  • what kinda guitar is that?! dope.

  • I... uh I I I I ...dig a road hog....

Sweet Jesus. That is the sexiest rock and roll performance since about 1969....

  • i almost cried

  • her version sucks.

  • @SirBrianCabrera Let's hear your version.

  • @jiveturkson there is no other version than the beatles version

  • I am 1000 percent that our hero, John Lennon, would have loved this cover. It's arty, full of soul, and it is sung by a chick!

  • @CrackinThunder Yeah man...Lennon loves this girl, he does it from anywhere he is watching at her...

  • @CrackinThunder

John Lennon was a cunt. he beat his first wife, and Yoko...cheated on them both, ignored his son for 11 years, caused conflict in the Beatles, and just tried to copy what George did. George will live forever.

  • @theyellowsubmarine3

First off, use english, you idiot. Secondly, you have google at your disposal! How about you do some research yourself?!

  • @JosephCote27 you can't deny the musical contributions that lennon has done. and lennon especially towards the end of his life reflected upon some of his mistakes. he got closer to his son and worked towards his marriage. it was definitely part of his own upbringing and conflicts, and after all he's human isn't he? I put george up there with john too in terms of musical contribution but he has also commited infidelity and such, they aren't perfect people. musicians are complex.

  • @CrackinThunder debatable. john lennon hated this song. i think its great!

  • So. Damned. Good.

  • I betcha most people in the crowd have no idea they are listening to a cover.

  • Dig a pony has got to be one of my top 3 favorite songs, but I just don't like this version of the song, its just not as good as the beatles.

  • The Beatles, a pretty face and curly hair.

    Coud this be any sweeter?

  • she has these strings sticking out in the air to act as an antenna to receive and collect random waves of awesomeness from the air.

  • love the style!

  • Give a totally stoned crack bitch a guitar and thats what you will hear!

@CamusCris and it's an insult for Hendrix to compare that creapy shit with him... shame on you!!

  • It's like mixing Hendrix, the beatles and then make an angel play it

  • I'm a Beatles fan and I love this cover.

  • "How old are you?" psh... Marry Me!

  • I was here! Off to the right! It was godly then, still godly now!

  • amazing

  • she is beastly!

  • what guitar does she hav?

  • @bloobeyond It's a harmony bobkat

  • i feel alot of hendrix coming out in the song

  • awww i love harmony guitar. they fucking rule

  • can i say she is the most talented woman in playing guitar? her skill is INSANE!!

  • @daysbydays

she just played a few barre chords and hammered on a few things around them, not really insane at all

  • i got goosebumps right after the solo

  • aaaaaaaallllllllllll i want it's you

  • @killingspree wait, did you just describe the beatles or st. vincent? cause they both play it the same way...

  • @killingspree wait a second, you keep coming back here 3 months after the last time you said you didn't like this? what's wrong with you?
