I have loved this piece sung by KTK since 1987 when I first heard it at 15.

My wife and I have been very moved by this piece of music which we discovered by chance on a compilation cd. We played this at our wedding day along with Vaughan Williams, "The Lark Ascending." Perfect, perfect, perfect.

June 15th 2007 at 5am, I had just given birth to our daughter Mariaske in our living room. The early morning sun was just burning the dawn mist off the lawn outside the open french doors, my new baby was resting on my chest between my breasts her cord waiting to be cut. From the speakers this wonderful, lovely music made it one of those very very few absolutely perfect moments in life.

@stookiebhoy Mariaske is 3 now and I have had a son since. I played this on the day of his birth as well, but not until much later. Our other three kids were all on our bed with me and new little Joost - it was snowing like hell outside - and I was watching my wife nurse him. For many reasons he was a very special birth and seeing her nurse him and hearing that music again was both sweet and painful.

Je préfère de très loin la version de Frederica Von Stadt et surtout celle de Vicotria de Los Angeles ! Outre le problème de la voix de Kiri Te Kanawa (comme le souligne très justement Phil2u), l'orchestre suit très péniblement la direction bien hasardeuse de Carl DAVIS ...
