a tip for the magic mouse is to download Better Touch Tools (google will help you out) its free and lets you remap more gestures than you will ever need to any shortcut including expose and space or missioncontrol and launchpad etc..
I am thinking of setting my room up like this... is it ok to keep unplugging the HD from the Macbook when I take it with me? for backup purposes? Because when Im at home, it will be like a desktop and when i leave it will be like a laptop... i just need to know just to keep me from buying an iMac as well
@hugoefoda Honestly im not sure. What kind of a connection does a PS3 use? If it is hdmi then yes you can use it with this monitor. It will take HDMI, DVI and VGA.
you can get a pretty inexpensive stand that will get you that space back. I also think there is 1 that can hold both your MBP and your monitor all on 1 stand, getting you even more space
The cinema LED display is too expensive. It's almost the price of a refurbished iMac. Try to find a used cinema display maybe - I got a 23" on eBay and it's great with my Macbook Pro.
@RevolutionAwesome I bought the ACD 23" which was second hand, not refurbished. The screen is 2 years old, but works like a charm. Absolutely awesome.

@tighmir Its not a problem to unplug and external HDD back and forth. I use it as a desktop at home and as a laptop on the road.

Im thinking of getting the ACD refurbished from Apple. I think its like $599. I agree though regular price is way to much.

I think the cinema display would really improve your setup. I think you have great gadgets, you just need to move them around, do some rearranging :)
