@jrfaug06 Get real, Ohio State's beaten quite a few SEC teams. They haven't beaten one in a bowl game, but in the regular season they have a winning record vs SEC teams. Oh, and overall the Big 10 has a total of 10 more national championships than the SEC. And Michigan creamed Florida in 2008, so I have no idea what you're talking about.
@thedynamite85 No, I'm telling you a fact that SEC teams rarely leave the south to play a game. The last time one was in Columbus was 1988....and that team got beat. Get your ass up north SEC boy...we'd love to have you there.
@ohiogreg64 I think that's why they call it the SOUTHeastern Conference. Alabama is playin @ Penn State, and I have a feeling that 100,000 white shirts will be walkin out of the stadium by half time.
@thedynamite85 So wait, you dissin Ohio State because they don't play the SEC on a regular basis and you only want to play them in the south? I don't care if Alabama is playin at Penn State...not a Penn State fan. I do know that SEC schools won't play Ohio State up north. Statement still stands...SEC schools RARELY leave the south to play and bitch about other school's schedules.
@ohiogreg64 Like I said, it's called the SOUTHeastern Conference for a reason... anyways, Vandy played @ UCONN today. Tennessee plays @ OSU in a few years. They also play @ Nebraska, and @ Oregon in a couple years. It doesn't matter where a GOOD SEC team plays, we're still better :P
@thedynamite85 Doesn't look like it. UCONN > vandy, BUFFS > uga. Bring your teams to COLUMBUS. Until that happens your southern bitchin falls on deaf ears. You can't claim others have soft schedules if you ONLY want to play them in the south. Looks to me like when they do step their toe outside their comfort zone they get whacked.
@ohiogreg64 I don't see "THE" Ohio State travelling below the Mason-Dixon line! When they finally do, they will get throttled! Maybe not against Miami next year, or UAB in 2012, but in 2018 on Ole Rocky Top, I guarantee they'll be begging for Michigan!
BTW, I said GOOD teams. Vandy and Georgia are pathetic. Which means one of the following... THIS year at least.
@thedynamite85 Is TX south of the Mason Dixon line? What about Miami? North Carolina? How bout Louisiana? Those are ALL places we've played in the last 10 years not to mention Southern Cal. TN is coming to Columbus (in about 10 yrs) because there is an Ohio connection in their athletic department. Other than that, SEC won't come. Not sayin Bucks win in the south. Again, don't bitch about scheduling till your teams are willing to come to Ohio to play. They only want to play us at home.
@ohiogreg64 You're missing the point. The SEC doesn't NEED to play at Columbus! What do you not get about that? Our schedules are strong enough. I'm bitching about Ohio State, because they cruise thru their schedule to the Rose Bowl, or if they're undefeated, they'll play an SEC team in the National Championship and get waxed... AGAIN. I'm saying, if OSU played an SEC team in the 1st game of the year, they would lose, and make room for a more worty opponent.
@thedynamite85 I suggest you re-read your first post. You want Ohio State to play an SEC school during the regular season right? But you only want to play them if the Buckeyes come south is that it? Yeah, that's REAL courage there!!!! Which gets back to MY original response. What part don't YOU understand? And just for the record, Ohio State defeated five teams last year with 10 or more wins and played 5 teams that had bowl wins. How many 10+ win teams did Alabama play last year SEC boy?
@ohiogreg64 i didnt say they HAD to play in the south. you said that. im saying that SEC schools dont NEED to schedule games up north for strength of schedule purposes. they will and they DO schedule games up north, but they just havent scheduled OSU yet. and you STILL dont get it... its not how many. its WHO you play. Who did Bama beat? #1 Florida (SEC Champ Game) #2 Texas (BCS Champ Game) #7 VA Tech #9 LSU #20 Ole Miss #22 South Carolina #25 Auburn Any more dumb questions?
@thedynamite85 Yeah, I am sayin that. The SEC is a bunch of pussies that don't want to travel to Big 10 country...especially to Ohio State. Bingo! You finally understand. Big deal, Bama travels to Penn State next year for one game. Look at how many times the B10 plays in the south. Twice already this year and more to come. And the SEC's trips to Ann Arbor, Madison, Columbus, Iowa City???? ZERO!! And why? You and I both know the answer to that one. Chicken shits! Go bitch elsewhere.
@ohiogreg64 So NW played Vandy... thats like two high school teams playing each other. Of course Penn St got murdered @ Bama. Nobody else in the Big Ten is playing an SEC team this year BTW. its called a home-and-home. one here, one there. im trying to keep this as simple as possible cuz i know the cold weather is making you slow. non conf games are scheduled years in advance. Big Ten isnt as strong as Pac 10 or Big 12, thats why its taking a while.
@thedynamite85 Oh, the Big 10 isn't as strong as the PAC 10...that's why Ohio State beat Oregon (the PAC 10 champ) on the west coast last January. I see. You're ridiculous and just a hater. You jump on here hatin on Ohio State and expect nobody to fire back. The B10 will play SEC teams later this year. They're called bowl games and we play them in YOUR territory. You want to play us so come play us and shut the fuck up! Put your money where your big mouth is.
@ohiogreg64 Haha! Again, you didn't READ the post! ONE TEAM DOES NOT MAKE A CONFERENCE. Pac 10 is deeper. Big 12 is deeper. OSU is the 3rd or 4th best team in the Big 10. They'll probably finish 0-3, and cry because Robinson won the Heisman. BTW, I've already won a lot of money betting against Ohio State vs SEC in bowl games
You act like I make the schedules, or have some kind of influence with scheduling. You're ON the schedule, but you'll have to wait. Just keep playing Kent State til then
@thedynamite85 You're ridiculous and a hypocrite. B10 has 5 teams ranked in AP top 25 right now, PAC10 3, B12 4. Ever take a look at SEC scheudles? Alabama = San Joes St, Georgia St. South Carolina = Furman, Troy. LSU = McNeese St, Louisiana-Monroe. Florida = Miami(OH) App St. Auburn = La. Monroe and Chattoonoga. BTW, no school in the SEC has as many Heisman's as Ohio State. Keep on hatin FACTLESS!!! ROFL!!!
@ohiogreg64 Dude, you obviously no NOTHING about the scheduling of NCAA football games! It's impossible to schedule a ranked team EVERY week of the season. That's why we leave the first or second week of the season OPEN to a non-conference BCS team. Notre Lame has 7 Heisman trophies, and until a couple weeks ago, so did USC.
@thedynamite85 Your very 1st post u bitch cuz Oh St doesn't play an SEC school on a reg basis during the season. The ? is who doesn't want to play who? So..some facts, OSU on a regular basis schedules at least 1 non-conf game against a premier opponent...HOME and HOME. I'm talkin teams that have played in the NC game within the last 10 yrs. Does any team in the SEC? OSU HAS pursued the same with the SEC but they won't bite. Know Y? U guessed it. They don't want to play up N. PUSSIES!!
@ohiogreg64 My first post, I DID bitch because OSU won't play ANY SEC team, ANYWHERE, north, south, doesn't matter. Yes, OSU has played good non conference oppontents early in the season.
99-loss vs Miami (neutral site)
01-loss @ UCLA
02-win vs TT (who lost 5 games)
05-loss vs Texas @ Columbus
06-win vs Texas @ Austin (best OSU team in last 10 years)
08-loss @ USC
09-loss vs USC @ Columbus
Not a very good record, bud. Yes, you played them, because you NEEDED S.o.S. points.
@thedynamite85 And there it is. I wondered when you'd resort to that. So first let me start off by saying AGAIN, no one has more BCS wins than OSU and secondly you forgot 2010-Win vs. Miami. See that's the thing with haters...they ONLY see what they want to see and NOT the truth. And the truth is that each college team has some successes & some failures. I'm proud to say that OSU has a lot more successes than failures. And haters...like U can't stand it so they ONLY point out the losses.
@thedynamite85 And secondly, how conveniently you forgot ALL the past SEC failures. That's quite a world you live in. So you can point out the loses of other teams but just brush by SEC loses. I like that. Again big mouth we play the big boys out of conference...that's what you want Ohio State to do and we do it. Your teams DON'T and WON"T. PUSSIES!!!!!! BECAUSE YOU ONLY WANT TO PLAY OHIO STATE IN THE SOUTH PERIOD!!!!!!!!
@thedynamite85 You mean like the Rose Bowl last January or against MIA this year? Look, one last time. In order for YOUR WISH to come true, OSU has to have an SEC opponent to play. It isn't because of OSU that they don't meet. It's because SEC members WILL NOT do home and home with Ohio State on a reg basis (like all other traditional powerhouses such as USC agreed to do). Finally TN relented because there is an Ohio connection in the athletic dept there. They ONLY want to play in the S.
I know most of these games were held before the Big 10 was formed, but the fact is... you don't know what you're talking about. Bowl games are played in the south because it's warmer during the winter, NOT because we're scared to play at Columbus.
@thedynamite85 Again, you're ridiculous and obviously an extremist. Seriously? It's funny enough that you bring up 30 years ago but you go back to the 30's. ROFL!! Those people are all dead for Christ's sake. How does that have any bearing on today or the future? Absolutely ridiculous! Not afraid? Then do it man, DO IT!! If you try to use the false argument that OSU won't let me remind you TX, USC, MIA, with OK after that (all played in NC game within past 10 yrs). You're just foolish.
@ohiogreg64 I just showed you that everytime the SEC has played OSU, it's been in Ohio! All you keep saying is, "SEC is scared to play in Columbus." That's OBVIOUSLY NOT the case. You keep changing the subject to other conferences. I'm not talking about other conferences! I'm talking about OSU vs SEC! Congratulations, OSU played former national champions... whoopty doo. They can play'em, but rarely beat'em. Thus, proving my point that OSU is terribly OVERRATED! They're surviving off tradition...
@thedynamite85 Well, you can't argue with a fool. I suggest you try takin off those SEC blinders. And BTW, pride cometh before the fall boy...and the fall is coming...very very soon. I also suggest you back off your obsessive hatred of Ohio State. Makes it easier to sleep at night.
@ohiogreg64 if they do beat Iowa and Michigan and go undefeated, then somehow beat Alabama in NCG, they will have my respect. I just don't think they're #2 team in the country. Top 10 yes.
@thedynamite85 Gotta news flash for ya...we don't care if we impress you SEC homers. But Ohio State must impress someone. They have the most BCS wins of any major school and will be ranked in the top 5 this season as well as the previous. They'll be in the picture next year as well. And I know you just HATE that! Ha ha ha ha. SEC! SEC! SEC! Ha ha ha ha!
@ohiogreg64 I'm glad the Big 10 will have a championship game starting next year. Also, Nebraska in the other division. After this year, OSU may not see a BCS bowl game for a while!
@ohiogreg64 You bitch about the SEC not playing at Columbus, but you don't see OSU playing @ Bama, @ FL, @ AUB, @ UT. Why? Because you know, and I know, they don't have a chance! That's why y'all stick with Notre Lame or Pac 10 teams where the defense is non existent. recently a guy from ohio moved next door to me. hes an ohio state fan, he told me that there isn't anything like watching an alabama and auburn game in a mixture between fans. he said it was unreal
oh this is the biggest hitting rivalry in any sport not only on the football feild but within the fans to im ohiostate and michigan just hate each other so much that we will rip the other one apart io
