  • best overclock on the motherboard box, LIKE A BOSS.

  • Awesome video! cant see sh*t he's doing.

  • asoos? what a retard. its aw sahs.

  • @nessa6565 AwSiss? LOL THAT SOUNDS FUCKING OSSIM

  • holy fack

  • My electronics professor says that increasing the speed of a CPU is not difficult, only impractical. The issue is that CPUs operating at high frequencies generate interference with other components and will actually cause their life to degrade rather than the CPU. Just one of the reasons why increasing the physical core quantity was engineered. Lower frequency, more cores, longer life.

  • @carnevil09 * and better performance.

  • @carnevil09 I cannot see that as being an issue these days. I'm not saying it's an impossibility that say a 4.5ghz i7 could interfere with other components etc. But I will say it is 99.9% improbable. Thats what spread spectrum is for. And even with it turned off it's not likely. have hda several systems all of which have been overclocked their entire lifetimes and never had a single problem with EMI. My phenom X4 system OC'ed 4.2ghz goin on 3 yrs now w/ all 3 yr old components

  • Two questions on OCing the 2600k for best performance on games:

    1. Games don't take advantage of multi threading and it generates a lot of heat - so if you disable HT could you clock higher at the same volts? how much?

    2. Some have suggested disabling the 4th core so the other three boost higher (i am running a program that uses just under 2 cores) Thoughts?

  • @sudokcd How high of a frequency r u shooting for? Lol. I have mine sitting @4.5ghz with HT enabled@1.35V. I could go a bit higher if I wanted but it would be complete and utter overkill for anything I use. I can tell you disabling HT drops my CPU temps about 7c on max load. I can also drop my volts to 1.33V to hit 4.5 instead of 1.35 which further decreases my temps. But I bought an I7 so I can have HT so ya. Disabling HT will prob allow u to get a bit higer a bit cooler but not by much

  • @sudokcd And as far as "disabling" one of your cores I mean really whats the point. I'm sure you could hit at the very least 4.4 ghz on that processor with all 4 cores. Do you really have any need to go higher than that? What could you be using to justfy it? Unless you have 2X GTX580 pushing through 3 monitors or something your GFX card will become the bottleneck after like 4.2ghz. Disabling cores and stuff like that wil give u 0 benefit in my opinion mayb others will tell u different

  • Who ordered a small fire, air cooling at 5ghz is not going to end well, plus avp is mostly a xbox clone try something that is not a clone.

  • Dun Do this at home!!!!

  • 1.5 volts will kill your cpu quick smart, End of the benchmark suddenly cuts out... B.S.O.D and a edit perhaps.

And why the hell do you need 160 odd frames per second...

  • Holy shit, the CPU must have been cooking since you need a good water cooling setup to get safe temps on 5Ghz... But not these guys, they threw on a shit cooler and hoped it won't fucking melt lol

  • @markothevrba I have seen the cherry picked 2600k's do 5-5.2ghz on 1.45V or less. A high end air cooler could handle it albeit not w/o making a shit load of nojise and not for safe 24/7 use. Unless of course you get a new chip every 2 months then fuck it Lol

  • Temperatures are probably 85C+ while you are using poor air cooler

  • Comment removed

  • Dayum.

  • these new BIOSes are pretty awesome, mouse functionality. better ui.

  • This blows the terrible PC I'm using into a whole new dimension.

  • haha ay-suse

  • over the clock testing

  • 3850

  • what about the temp?

I recon it will blue screen if running prime95 because of the cheesy hyper 212+

  • aint nobody fuckin with that rig xD hahaha

  • @alexisfire999 Suuuuuuuuuurrrreeee ya diiiiiiiiiiidddddddd LOL

  • Hello everybody, can somebody give me some tips or a guide, i'm buying the maximus extreme-Z board, and i7 2600k soon, i would like to overclock to around 4.6 to 4.8 24/7 usage, this mobo and bios interface is going to be new for me ( coming from asus p7p55d & i7 860 @3.4 ) any helpful advice/tips or a good guide would be great!

  • @PsYchotic666Joker 4.6 - 4.8 is very easy... Enter the bios and in the first screen you can set auto overclock to 4.6 G, then it is allready running 4.6 Ghz... If you then go a few steps below to the multiplier, select multiplier per core and fill in 48 in every line and you have it at 4.8 Ghz.. If its not stable anymore, which is akward, then you might tune up the CPU voltage step for step till it's stable without passing 1.38 - 1.4 Volt. You need to monitor your CPU temperature as well..

  • @underverser Ok thanks for that, i'll be sure to try that once i get the hardware, oh i also should have mentioned i am using an h80 for my cpu currently, also have decent airflow going through the case too.

  • @PsYchotic666Joker The H80 is a pretty good and easy cooler to install, I've read the H100 has relatively much better cooling results, you might consider that, especially if you have hot summers...

  • @underverser lol i think you miss read my last comment, i said i am using an H80 on my cpu :P plus i got it free..even better haha.

  • @PsYchotic666Joker Anyway, it will fit on the i7..

  • @underverser I have both the H80 and H100. I like the H100 cause it makes less noise but temp wise my H80 does just as well from my experience. I find it odd since the H100 has double the rad but then again the rad is also thinner. Before that I had an H50 push pull with 2 Skythe Flex and the H80 blows that thing out of the water despite using stock fans. I really like both the H80 and H100. Would recommend either one:)

  • @underverser if ur just benchmarking u can bump the voltage higher but for 24/7 use i agree keep it under 1.4

  • @PsYchotic666Joker I would say 4.5-4.6 is completely doable. But I will tell you not all 2600k's are the exact same and every chip will OC differently. Having a good board helps but not every 2600 is going to reach that 4.8 ghz level. You have a 50/50 chance really. Welcome to the silicon lottery my friend Lol. For instance my last 2600k needed 1.36V under load to get 4.2 ghz prime stable. I wouldn't even wanna know what 4.8 was. My current one does 4.5ghz @1.32V under load.

  • @lamiac2411 mine does 4.5ghz @ 1.296v under load. But the temps get max 75ºC on the 3rd core under SmallFFTS test on prime 95 @ 22ºC room temp. That´s why i don´t put it @ 4.7ghz at least. My goal was 4.7ghz @ 1.36v max if my cooler droped the temps for 10ºC. My cooler it´s the very old Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme Rev.A with two 120mm fans and Artic Silver 5 paste.

  • that room must have icicles hanging from the ceilings for the cpu temperature to be that low lol

  • the Cooler Master Hyper 212+ can handle this? wow...

  • @Spaeckli NO!! LOL. Try it and see what happens

  • @lamiac2411 but he's using it...

  • @Spaeckli I know but yours may not. They r using cherry picked stuff here. 1.5V is pushing it. Really pushing it. Chances r you won't destroy your rig but at that voltage...

  • i would never buy overclocked pc because it will over heat.

  • ASUS Sucks. I bought an ASUS Sabertooth x58, which come with 2 sata3 connections. The problem is they dont operate at sata3 speeds ,ASUS lied about it (I have done numerous amounts of benching as well as additional research and its not just my board). Also I bought an ASUS Eee pc netbook which was supposed to come with DDR3 RAM. Turns out they LIED about that also; I purchased a DDR3 upgrade and it wasnt compatible because its actually a DDR2 laptop. ASUS LIES and has terrible customer service.

  • will someone tell me if you can use three gpu's on one monitor?

  • @iiEssentials If you mean using SLI or Crossfire to run games with multiple gpu's/video cards yes. If you mean three monitors off one gpu, still yes, depends on the card though :)

  • @iiEssentials Yes it can, it's called triple-SLI setup... Plug in three of the same videocards, use the SLI cable follow the instructions in the manual and you have three videocards working on one monitor.. I've read the performance increament is not really awesome, also not every game can use the multi-GPU setup. So you better buy one of the fastest card available today.. It is cheaper and works better.. I have a GTX580 with a slight overclock is more than enough for today...

  • i rly hate watching these videos cause it always makes me jelous! xD

  • some really burnin/stability testing would be NICE. Thx.

  • Crazy bastards. Im just at 4.0 lol

  • runs great on my 40inch led 120hz 1080p tv

  • i did this and my labtop caught on fire

  • any body else waiting for an Explosion, Worm Hole to form or evan a face huger to burst out of the monitor?

  • $1,500 just in video cards... can they run Minecraft?

  • @Kulopto Nothing can run minecraft.........

  • @Kulopto My quad SLI potatoe runs it "ULTRA" @10X2

  • how about voltage for a 24/7 overclock. What do you think as max voltage for a 24/7 overclock.

  • @kanarie93 1.38-1.4 Volt I've read that is the maximum advised by Intel.

  • @kanarie93 9.99V for 24/7 OC. Try 9.90 and work your way up from there

  • instant fire

  • But is it stable 24/7?

  • I overclocked my proccesor by jst editing the mhz nothing else going good so far

  • Nice but I'll stick with mine at 4.5ghz. It's overkill for all my needs.

  • 08:51 cpu v warning lol

  • Comment removed

  • @alexisfire999 Yeah, you are obliged to do this when you claim such astronomical results ... ;)

  • @alexisfire999 Hey bitch, why don't you show us the candy, instead of troling everyone here out? ;)

  • OUT OF STOCK!!!!! Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • I got a warning for others... These settings are extreme, i tried to clock @ 5.3 Ghz with these settings and it fried my processor... 1.5 volt is a dangerous voltage (i knew that while i took the risc)...

  • @underverser Newegg should really have disclaimer on this video, I've heard that over 1.4 is dangerous for the Sandy Bridge. If you blindly followed these settings, you could be out $250-300!

  • @wcg66 For the ones who don't know the riscs, they really should do... Anyway, got my new CPU in place and keep it al Vcore 1.38 Volt and 5 Ghz...

  • @underverser i can't believe you're stupid enough to overclock it to 5Ghz. you're some amateur computer geek.

  • @ninhbac04 Things you think are stupid declares you just don't understand... ;)

  • @underverser Good point. What if I do understand to the fullest extent?

  • @ninhbac04 Then you are a trol(lololol)... lol... :D

  • @ninhbac04 I mean a real fucking trol! XD

  • @underverser well that insult doesn't mean anything to me because trolls don't exist.

  • @ninhbac04 So you don't understand the fullest exten(t)d... ;)

  • @underverser Risk . . . srry had to lol

  • @KiloExtras Yup, you're right...

  • @underverser you should have had better cooling if you didn't already

  • @VidsFromdaBasement I have better cooling.. I have a waterloop that has chilled water of about 14*C. The waterflow is 200 liters per hour. The outlet is also 14*C and the heatcollector on the processor is a copper made material.. Which means, my cooling system is far better than shown in the video... The processor was never hotter than 50*C on the hottest spot in the processor. ;)

  • @underverser and you did have stock cooler right..?

  • @jonitynkky It came with the processor, but i've not used it... I have active chilled watercooling applied...

  • @underverser FRuck ya it's dangerous you crazy mofo Lol. These guys get top of the line shit with cherry picked boards and processors. But if I was to chance this kind of OC I wouldn't do it on anything less than the board they r using. You need at least a 20 phase for this

  • @lamiac2411 Can you explain the difference between 8-phase and 20-phase? Because i don't think you know what you are writing right now... ;)

  • @underverser Yes I can. I speak of the entire VRM in general. Usually the more phases=better performance and less heat due to power being split between more phases. This is the reason you shouldn't attempt to cheap out on your motherboard and try to OC on a board with a shit 6 phase. Because those are ALWAYS the boards you hear about catching on fire or taking a shit. The VRM is like a second PSU. Thats y I laugh at people with a big hulky 1000W PSU and a shit board for that shiny new 2600k Lol

  • @lamiac2411 I know what the VRM does.. But the fact that i should need a 20-phase array is bullshit.. I have external measured the Vcore with an oscilloscope and during changing between stress and relax there were no harmfull bumps in the voltages... In fact there are professional O.C'ers that use 8-phase arrays too... You sound like you sell these things... You don't care about the truth as long as you sell... ;)

  • @underverser No man I don't sell these I promise Lol. I'm not saying you have to have a 20 phase array I'm just saying it's usually better to have a good quality VRM for stability and safety reasons that's all. I learned a hard lesson in my phenom OC'ing days Lol. When your going for the type of overclocks that push your system to the max a good board can make or break ya. All I was getting at is the motherboard should not be something some1 who overclocks "cheaps out" on

  • @lamiac2411 Yes, this board has a 8-phase array VRM..

  • @underverser LOL xD

  • @GotenSSJ1 What do you want? Bitch! LOL ;)

  • @underverser *Risk

  • @underverser

    bull fucking shit

    no u didnt

  • Overclocked mine to only 4.3, don't really need more than than right now

  • What was the cpu temp on full load ? Thanks!

  • @NahkeaTaata They did'nt got the processor on full load here.. ;) But i did with watercooling (inlet temps of water were 15*C as it is active cooled down), my processor temps were 50*C on the hottest spot with Prime95, while 1.5 Vcore kills your processor anyway... ;)

  • Ghetto ass setup running it on that empty ass box lol.

  • If there was a god for computers, This would be it.

  • hey man hopefully someone could help me . heres my specs

Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, Asus P8P67 Evo Board ,i7 2600k,8gb Vengance 1600mhz , Msi R6870 Gpu , Patriot Pyro 120GB SSD , and 650 PSU .My question is .. Do i have a decent Rig? this is the first time i build my own and im just wondering what i can do to make it better!! Maybe upgrading from 8 to 16 gb ram? or better GPU? oh and im running all Stock Clocks. maybe if u guys can give me some links on OC. Or If u guys even recomend OC thanks!

  • @Edwin1503 You really should upgrade your coolers. I'd never even think of running the stock coolers on my 2600k. Once you do that, I would OC it to about 4.3. Your next upgrade should probably be your GPU. Since you already have a 6870, I'd just buy another one and set then up in Crossfire. Honestly, you have plenty of ram. I've personally got 16gb, but it's really not necessary for gaming. I've actually got it for server hosting.

  • @collinw24 thanks for ur reply!! so in order to crossfire i need to buy the same exact card?? another question... what would give me better results.. the r6870 crossfire or if i buy the MSI R6990 card alone!?? thanks for your time!! PS: on the cooling u recommend regular heat sinks of water cool?? i was looking at the H80 and H100

  • @Edwin1503 First off, the only thing that needs to be the same is the model of the card. So you would basically have to buy another 6870. It wouldn't really matter which brand you got. If I were you I'd stick with the 6870, and maybe just get another one. The 6990 is a great card, and I personally love it. But 2 6870's are plenty of power. And as far as liquid cooling goes, I've been able to get 4.3GHz on my 2600k with the H100, and it doesn't even break a sweat. It really is a great cooler.

  • @collinw24 thanks for all ur replies man.. ill make a video soon wen i have it all installed so u can see my rig!! :D cheers!! PS Do u play any games?? Steam or Origin ??

  • @Edwin1503 I play a ton on steam.. my name's "Own3rWiggls".

  • but can it run notepad?

  • Comment removed

  • shit, that is one nice bios! :O

  • But can it run crysis

  • this or the P8z68?

  • @SherlocksFlag This definitely.

  • @vampire5003 Roger that sir :D!!!!

  • How's the H.264 video encoding at that clock speed?

  • it boot for ages :/

  • It's Asus, not Asus...

  • @nousername21 uhh whats the difference between Asus and Asus?

  • @muzeklijstje it's a joke...

  • @nousername21 hahahahahahahahaahah whahahaah

  • I've managed to hit 5.1GHz with my 2600K on asus p8z68 v-pro and noctua nh-d14

  • Cheery picked stuff.... 5.2GHz @ 1.5Vcore with a puny Hyper 212. LAMO. Intelbunrtest would MELT the CPU instantly (Yeah, I know, it would throttle and not melt, it's just a figure of speech). Great to show off on youtube, but not practical in anyway. Even with good cooling, you would kill your CPU really quickly with that kind of voltage under 24/7 use. With LLC set to 1 or extreme, I wouldn't go over 1.42Vcore with any kind of voltage anyway.

  • @UTUBESUCK666 Who in their right mind would use 5.3ghz as a 24/7 OC? This isn't showing what you should do for a daily driver PC, this is just showing what can be done using the SB platform. They never said that high of an OC was practical, they are just showing how far you can push the system.

  • @UTUBESUCK666 Ya LOL. These guys are giving off the wrong fucking impression man. Your gonna have people try this shit at home and melt their shit Lol. A Hyper 212 WILL NOT keep a 2600k w/ht A@5.2ghz 1.5V at a descent temp. Not a chance. Not w/o sounding like a jumbo jet neway

  • Run Folding@Home on it for a week and get back to me. If it holds up, it holds up.

  • @YoungJim409 I think you underestimate these boards and chips. Right now, I have an i5 2500k at 5ghz, at 1.212vcore(load), and my max temps on 100% load are around 55c (after three hours of prime), and it's rock solid. If my $150 AsRock mobo can do this, then I would hope that a really expensive board like this could do even better. It is honestly too easy to get these speeds, and I've no doubt I could push a lot higher than this if I wanted to. Intel really spoiled us this time.

  • @xilix Like I said, if it'll take it rock on.

  • speak louder paul!!!

  • I wish my hair line came down that far, I got a big forehead!

  • I copied the settings (except memory timings and voltage) and it really runs 5.2 Ghz stable, so easy this way... :D

  • jj

  • I have the exact same setup (except a H100 water cooler and a case, of course) and this overclock didn't work. Might boot up on his PC, but I have a feeling there's been a lot more money poured into the parts than they actual tell you.

  • WIll it Blend?

  • WOW, all those icons on the desktop... :(

  • If my ASUS tech support experience didn't rate a D, I might have considered this a good option.

  • should i get a H60 water cooler or a Hyper 212 Evo for my i5 2500K @ 4.3 Ghz

  • @Buttfuckbysquirl Hyper 212 will do you just fine, you can even go higher to 4.5-4.7 GHz.

  • @UDP7 Yeah , thanks for ur answer man :) But i choose to go with the H60 cause its such a small little cube sitting on ur CPU with just the 2 tubes going to the back of ur PC

i think it looks alot better then the big silver block sitting on ur CPU... i have a side panel so i care :P

  • @Buttfuckbysquirl Yeah, watercooling looks a lot more neat. And do you look at your monitor or your side panel?

  • @UDP7 my PC is standing right next to my monitor , if my friends come over i wanna hear a Wow xD

  • @Buttfuckbysquirl Lol okay then.

  • @UDP7 watercooling is more effective than aircooling if installed properly.

Hell with that "good looking pc dream" since Computer is made to compute!

A kind of a really fast calculator that does billions of calculations per second.

    COMPUTER COMPUTES COMPUTATIONS.

    --

get a life addicts (i use led fans so i don't need to turn on my light in my room when i do all nighters overclocking and testing. my board mates are complaining because of it.

  • 1.5v safe?

  • Can I do this at home?

  • lol once again.... hyper 212+ 5.2ghz on intel i7 will kill it within 3 days

  • FFS, such high-end hardware... and a 212+ cooler? What an insult. Get a freaking NH-D14 or Silver Arrow.......................

  • yeah overclocked in no case lol extreme air cooled.

  • i vote for a PDF tutorial.

  • Holy boring 5.2ghz but not stable!

  • is that mexican i see....

  • 31 people bought AMD...

  • Not even the 5.2ghz can handle ALL THOSE DESKTOP ICONS

  • @eightowe80 lol I have an old pc (windows XP) and My whole screen (23 inch) is filled with icons, with 1.63ghz single core, can handle it easily :P

  • @DJVenuspect even i7s run at 1.6Ghz on idle (assuming EIST is enabled)

  • Can anyone give me a good OC setings to come up to 4.2-4.3 ghz :) have ASUS Maximus IV Extreme B3, Socket-1155

  • i use thermaltake frio heatsink - best air heatsink

i7 2600k oc 4.4Ghz no crashes no bullshit

    life is good

5Ghz is up there, but unless im sitting around all day processing CGI movies for dreamworks then i dont see why i'd need to do this

  • But can it play Minesweeper?

  • @Shadowshreder47 sadly no...but Pacman runs a 30 fps!

  • @Shadowshreder47 maybe for 2 mins. just make sure you let the comp cool down.

  • @WeirdoMikey2T

    lol xD

  • @Shadowshreder47 hahaha, are you kidding me? you how hard it is to run minesweeper? this wouldn't even be close to being able to run it.. trolol

  • @Shadowshreder47 sadly no, see the processor is running SO FAST that when the program opens its too slow to keep up with it... so sadly it cannot

  • @Shadowshreder47 Not on high.

  • this video is crap if you over clock with asus software the comp will not boot on the first time or second time it will reboot then it will run asus replace my P8P67pro board 3 times saying it would do and still the same crap

  • what was the monitor that they were using?
