cell24 . . .I've ordered a LoopMaster true bypass switch for my TC Nova Modulator. My distortion pedals seem to disappear tone wise when the TCNM is in the chain. I'll post a comment when the LoopMaster arrives.
@joelg125 - I think they might be buffered.. What I do know is that, buffered or true bypass, our engineers have made the best decision possible regarding sound through the pedal..
@joelg125 true bypass is what you want. All it means is that when the pedal is turned off that you're getting the true signal from your guitar to the amp and out the speaker. So when it's off the pedal isn't effecting your tone at all.
why is he using a Boss Tuner instead of the PolyTune???... I dumped my TU-2 and pitchblack did a Shootout between the TU-3 and the PolyTune, obviously TC Electronic has better quality and that is the one I got...
I got a Nova Reverb a couple of days ago. I fucking love it, its like a rack effect but portable and way less expensive :P
However its a bit tricky to use with distortion(I mean like heavy crunch, nto a blues style overdrive like in this vid) as it get muddy on high gain settings. However its these exact settings that make a clean tone shine. It just takes a while to get used ot but I dare say that this pedal is the perfect reverb pedal out there. Best one the market :D
It's not the pedal. Digital shit is crap. I have tried a bunch of it. Analog and tubes only way to go for warm responsive tone. Digital is sterile and modeling has a million miles to go yet.
I take exception when you say a top-shelf amp "will make a r****d sound like Satriani." On the contrary, an outstanding amp will reveal a player's flaws and shortcomings more readily than a garden variety practice amp or mass-market model.
While I agree tubes & analog are overall best for pure sound quality, digital has an important place and should not be dismissed out of hand, especially for budget-conscious players.
I look forward to exploring more of what T.C Electronic has to offer.
lol you are correct! .... I often think this..... Jeff beck can play with no pedal through a £99 amp and a £100 guitar... and make it sound a million pound........ tone is extremely important.. but a players technique and emotion controls lots of the tone!... This does give a fair demonstration though.
I loved how he bent the note dropped the bar and made it sound like a slide...that was cool right there... the player and the pedals were equally badass....Ray
I find this guy a better guitar player than all the "Shredders" out there. This man has some fucken soul !

@cravelp1115 @jjmgunsjm That actually sounds like an octave fuzz, not just a fuzz.

You can't go wrong with any pedal from TC Electronic's. Just stellar pedals!

Sorry ...are these true bypass pedals? Don't see the reference anywhere.

I'd like to order the guitar effect which makes it sound like a cowbell. There isn't enough cowbell in that track. More cowbell is needed!

Should i be concerned with "true bypass" on these pedals? Why? What's the science behind that?

Hi Miles
The patch chords are just standard "no-name" patch chords. The effect at 2.06 is the TC Octascreamer which is discontinued I'm afraid.
Thanx for watching

I would like to know what patch chords you are using?
Also, what effect is kicked in at about 2:06? very ring modulator like.
Thanks,
Miles

Some of these pedals like the delay require 12VDC so most standard power supplies may not have enough juice......
This is a bind.....

From the video i guess he is using the Vintage Pedals, not the Nova Drive ?!

It only sounds good because he is using a $4500 Diezel amp. A retard will sound like Satriani playing through that.

A great player can make you forget about the crappines of a yamaha starter kit, not even the greatest gear can make a crappy player sound good.
