Where it says in Quaran that music is not allowed? This is another myth. Tell me what is wrong with this song? Is he a sinner? We created all these rules ourselves to make Islam look like a black hole with lots of prohibitions from 1500 years ago. Any way thet takes your heart one step closer to Allah is allowed. salaam, youve taken a wrong approach to islam, Al muallim(the teacher) who was prophet Muhammed(saw) was our example and he didn't do any of this. The way to get close to God is to follow the example He has sent down and i can guarentee you, you can't go wrong. Islam is about simplicity so if others find that weird then so be it. Having said that the Sha'afi madhab alows certain instruments and i think brother Sami is a Sha'afi. May Allah reward him for his efforts.
