SpectralTempest, your a tool. Jason Yee was top dog back in the day because he took on all challengers at major championships. What were you doing then? Oh yeah, pooping in your diapers.
To perform forms and sanda, thats pretty rare and he does pretty well. Mind you he was competing against china and there some picky people when it comes to skills! Hes probably done alot more then you ever well, dont be jealous kid. What has you done in life? lol Jason ain't top notch but hes good for his day. Sanda was in its infancy back then in terms of rules and competitors, also average sloppy people cant do 360 twist kicks with a heavy kwan dao in there hand....that takes skill
Under San Shou rules the Kung Fu fighter (watch Cung Le vs Phil Petit). Under K-1 kickboxing rules it could go either way. I'd love to see Cung Le vs. Buakaw Por. Pramuk.
people forget Cung Le's 3-0 in K-1. He just prefers sanshou where he can use hes freestyle and greco-roman takedowns. Cung was a beast back in his wrestling days tho..
this is one of the best muay Thai gyms in the country. Do at least a year with them before moving onto anything else. you need master the thai stuff to do modern san shou.
ur a cool person thanks a bunch for finding those places, but ill have you know to not worry cuz i have been searching for places myself (googling of course), but can't seem to find any places. However Costa Mesa is EXTREMELY far away from me, lol im sorry but do you know of any in Corona that's where i live, or in Norco, Riverside, Fullerton, Santa Ana??? any gyms that teach sanshou?

"As an amateur, Jason Yee was one of the best fighters the US has ever produced. He was the first American to win a medal in international competition and a multiple time national champion. As a trainer, he pioneered US San Shou with his ?dream team?. Jason retired from amateur competition in 1995 feeling he had achieved what could be achieved. That was two years before there was such a thing as professional San Shou. Tempted by the lure of professional San Shou and also in large part to...
...help promote the sport, Jason agreed to fight Cung Le on the Pay-Per-View event held in Florida in 1997. Jason agreed to go up in weight. For a man who hadn?t fought in two years, had gone up in weight and who had been sick for months before the fight, Jason Yee put in a strong performance but lost a decision to Cung. Jason retired once again to focus on his movie career only to be lured back at the beginning of the year by the prospect of a few high profile matches.
Gentlemen, go to watch "Cung Le vs. Jason Yee - Dark Assassin Action Scene" which I just posted! And click on "more info" on "Cung Le - "The Bruce Lee of MMA"" to watch more Cung Le's greatest matches. Thanks
excellent! really admire someone that practices wushu both taolu and sanda, and in in this case, take it to such a superior level! true wushu warrior exponent!
He used to train at the boston kung-fu tai chi institute. He left about a year before I started training there. I've talked to a few students who've trained with him and he's definetly the real deal.
This is old school. I looked up to this guy when I first started martial arts when I was like 10 years old. He was big in the 90's. I think he's making movies in Asia now.

Cung Le tooked it easy on Jason Yee, it was obvious. If Cung Le went all out, Jason Yee would've been knocked the fuck out.

His sanda is a joke, and his wushu is sloppy average at best. I suppose this exposure is due to the novelty back then.

MysticNinjaJay 2 years ago
that would be good, but buakaw is old for a thai
CageFighter258 2 years ago
He's 27 and he's competitive with the K-1 elite. I think he is young enough to fight a 37 year old Cung Le.
MysticNinjaJay 2 years ago
He's also 155 to Cung's 185lbs.
I'd say Cung's students, but the most notable, Anthony Johnson, has yet to reach Cung's seamlessness with Sanda.

@Dynaman21 Jason was around 170 for that fight.
