I was a supervisor in a company that's workers were 75 percent black, 15 percent hispanic, and 10 percent white or other. The supervisor that taught me everything I knew was my friend and was black. We both joked how every race has prejudices. I was accused by people that worked for me as being racist. The black supervisor was accused of being racist too.

Remembering the past and having a positive outlook on life are not mutually exclusive. I think that young black people need to study more about history. If they know that their ancestors were forbidden to read or to get married, they might cheirsh their ability to get educated and choose to have a family more.
