whoa, never seen this video somehow... it's like a cross between Dead or Alive & Lady Gaga :-D I'm an 80s child, so yes, i'm well aware that this well precedes Lady Gaga
I did always like this song, but it borrows heavily from a number of songs. The keyboard riff that stands in for a bass player is from "Remember" by Gino Soccio (1984). The other riff that stands in for rhythm guitar is borrowed from "Rise Up" by Yvonne Kay (aka Ivana Spagna, 1984). Then again, the melody of "Fascination" would be as good as stolen for "Hypnotize" by Taste-T-Lips a year later, so...lol
Love that Miami sound. I saw them in concert beginning of 2010 @ Universal Amphitheater and they looked amazing! Still slim, sexy and hot. All 3 had their white wigs on, and they gave a great performance.
I remember so well: in Holland 1986 this entered the pre-hit parade and I immediately bought a 45, with just on the A-side the Radio Edit and on the B-side the instrumental version. But this song is so much better in the Club Mix Edition, it simply needs time to build up all the energy.
Excellent song! 93Q in Houston played this song thousands of times in the late 80's and well into the 90's and I loved it every time I heard it! Brings back a lot of memories from college and the Roarin' 80's!!! I sure miss the 80's. Don't you?

I still listen to this song loud in my harley truck and in my 77 Trans am whcih, i drove back in the 80's. Takes me back to my high school years. My god time has flown by but damn it, I cant get this song out of my system after 25 years
I wish i lived in Miami in the late 80s. I love the 80s and I love Florida and I love this kinda Miami dance thing they had going on in the 80s. Its just great party music.
When she sings "I'm fascinated by your love toy" I like to vogue on the dance floor. Except instead of framing my face I frame my junk, whilst making intense eye contact with the nearest lil' lady and soundlessly lip sync the lyrics.
Just came back from a free KC and the Sunshine Band concert. KC intorduced his back up singer/dancers and the band. He introduced one of the women as having had a hit-Fascinated- in the 80's and she sang a few bars for us. OMG she looks SO young to have had a hit in 87. I came here to hear the whole thing. Just wanted you guys to know she's still got a great voice and a great body.
They played the dub version of this on kiss back in the 80s at the same time with hip hop.I loved it so much i bought the 12.I still have.I will av a look 4 u all and upload it:-)
Esse embalo vou te contar,...nossa!!! Só parece quando eu iá a escola em noites de festa. Era demais. Esse sucesso contagiava a todos que estavão na pista ao som de Edmilson Som.
All I can say is the 80's were a weird time for music. You had everything from techno to punk to rap and hard rock. It was like the decay of Disco left a void and no one knew where music was heading and so you had all these different types of music that really crossed alot of boundaries. Heck, even my friends who liked AC/DC or metallica would go the the dance clubs and move to this stuff. The 80's were really a great time. Maybe, I think that because that's when I was in my prime. who knows.
@scottman000 I grew-up in the 80s, but I think the 90s actually had more variety. There was freestyle, "dance" like C+C Music Factory - a kind of disco revival. New jack swing, rap, hip-hop, and of course rock. Also popular were slow, long love ballads by Mariah Carey, Stevie B, Boyz 2 Men.
Later in the decade in a kind of backlash to overproduced pop, acoustic songs (Jewel) and modern rock became popular, and then the decade closed out with girl groups and boy bands.
@harleykman .... it's not that there was MORE variety in the `90s... it's that more varieties became MAINSTREAM. All the stuff you listed existed in the `80s too, but the Billboard charts (Hot 100, Top 40, and R&B) were MUCH more segregated in that decade. In the `90s, especially early on, rock, pop, and R&B all shared the charts. So it became more mainstream. But all those genres existed in the 80s as well, trust me. The variety was definitely there.
This is a guilty pleasure. Even back in the 80's I wouldn't admit I liked it. Being a musician, I'm very prejudiced about manufactured groups performing songs they didn't even write. But I hear this song today and it STILL stays in my head for hours! Funny, I always thought Expose did this. Expose may have had more than 1 hit song but NONE of them were as good as this one.
I wan't to say this is a guilty pleasure for me too but why should I feel guilty. I love this song. Even if it was supposed to be 'manufactured'. And these girls are classy.

Back in that era it was called Miami Hip Hop Dance and you can get this today. It was pure dynamite in late 80's.
