  • This songs from State Fair xD I love ginger rogers, biggest inspiration!!

  • Amazing!

  • @LisaFreemontStreet: What do you think of the flesh-toned stick concealers Maybelline makes? (I need one with very high coverage that will last a long time on my oily skin.)

  • @LisaFreemontStreet: I noticed in this video that you used the white Maybelline concealer. What do you think of this product, and would you recommend buying it? Also, what do you use it for?

  • @MissGoldenDreams13 It's a must have product for me...i use it to highlight and i also use it on my waterline.

  • Your gorgeous, love yr looks, big thumbs up from London UK.xx

  • I wish i could look as beautiful as u are just every day,,,but its costs money & a self esteem

  • @lisa4615 LOL...first of all, you don't see me every day. Second of all, if money were an issue I couldnt do it either. We are not rich people. :)

  • this is amazing! you look exactly like you came out of Top Hat :) this is easily the best video of gingers style I have seen!!

  • @vintagesoul19 Thank you! I have to admit, being a huge fan of Ginger's, that this is one of my favorite videos to date. :)

  • Oh my I love it! I wish I could do that look. I'm such a fan of the 40's. I wish I had the talent to do that. Thanks for posting it. You look great.

  • Well done! You manage to capture the styling and feel of the era well.

  • I adore this make up look. Totally gorgeous

  • great hair, looks really like what they were doing that days!!!

  • Gorgeous! You know Ginger was more of a natural redhead - not a blonde. In fact in a couple of movies they refer to her as a redhead. In Swing Time Fred asked to be paired up with a redhead instructor I believe ;)

  • love it

  • I just love Bachelor Mother...i will be trying the make up part of this (my hair is too long for this style). Thanks!

  • Keep up the good work it gives me ideas to put my makeup in a uniform fashion. thank you very much!

  • Hi LisaFreemontStreet, I enjoyed your video. I have never seen a lady doing her make up. It takes some time to add the make up, but the result is great. Your an nice lady too look at. Great result, funny video. Have an nice DAY. (loved the DAY music you've used at the beginning of course)

    P

  • You do seem at home in this decade. Your videos have been so inspiring to me.

  • Thanks so much. Hey *whispering*-I'm a Top Model fan too!

  • Such a great discover! Another great Ginger Rogers fan's (nice to see more fans of her around) here and, being a real disaster with make up, watching the video I'm starting to learn how to make up correctly. Thanks for the vid and the tips. Oh and you look totally adorable at the end.

  • Don't forget 1937's "Stage Door"!!!!!

one of my all time favourites with a killer cast - and Ginger has all of 90 seconds of dancing in it - so as you said yes she was a very accomplished and capable actress - not just a dancer :)

  • Stage Door is one of my favorite movies of all time! Ginger is my favorite part...I did mention her 'rag rollers' in that film in my Retro/Vintage Hair Tips video. LOL

Yeah, the only reason I didnt mention it is that it's from the 30's. :)

  • great tutorial- thank you :) :)

  • Aww the tennis glow. nice detail!

Beautiful tutorial. I can't wait to try it, but I'm worried I won't get the same result. I have really hooded eyes. They are very asian-looking and every time I apply eyeshadow to the lid, it totally disappears. Any tips?

  • Mine are becoming more hooded as I get older. Don't apply any color to the lid...keep the entire eye pale and just apply color to the crease. :) You can create a crease by drawing one w/ an eyeliner pencil and then blending it out.

  • Thank you! Love and Ginger!

  • AHH!!! Will you do a tutorial on how you did your hair?!? I want that look so badly!!!

  • It's simply pincurls aiming towards the face. See my Pincurls videos for how to do it...you simply part your hair in the middle first.

  • This is definitely your decade! You look simply adorable in this video! :)

And of course thanks for the tips!

  • u have a really great smile! and i like this look best so far!

  • i really love this look its amazing good job hun <3

  • Now this one your just too cute for words, i mean im totally loving these. I'm as locked into them as the movies these great women stared in. So much of my favorite music is derived from this era....wow i would dance but know id miss something...lol! wonderful!

  • Signed up just so I could subscribe to your channel! Yes we've seen the pin curl before but would you pleeez do a tutorial on this particular set? I Love the way the "bangs" turned out!

  • Hey there. I would but it's really TOO simple. I just parted it in the middle and aimed all the pincurls on both sides of the part TOWARDS my face.

  • I named my first car Ginger...a little red Saturn coupe. I CRIED when I traded her in. My favorite movie, sorry I can't remember the title, is where she acts like a little girl...for some reason or other, but falls in love with a guy, but can't let him know because she's pretending to be so young! TOO funny. Do you know that one?

    Great job as usual! :)

  • Hmmm, I know she plays a young part in Kitty Foyle but I don't think that's it. I want to see it!

  • I can help you out. The film is called The Major and The Minor.

  • Thank you so much! :)

  • I absolutely adore the way you have done your hair in this video. This is your best video and your best look so far; you wear it so well. Thank you so much for all the effort you put into your videos, they are really enjoyable and very much appreciated:)

  • Fabulous hair! I like how it looked parted in the middle.

  • Love it love it, the only Ginger Rogers movie i have seen is the musical 42nd street and her part in that wasn't to big, but i've seen videos of her here on youtube!

  • Kitty Foyle has to be one of my favorite movies ever! Wonderful feature! :)

  • Oh, I really love that movie as well. A perfect example of 'melodrama' done right.

  • Ohhhhhhh Bravo!!!

  • Thanks so much!

  • May I ask a cheeky question-is that a coloiur on your hair and if so....which one? it's gorgeous!!!

  • HAHA...Not cheeky at all! It is Loreal Preference in Medium Auburn, faded greatly! I'm about to brighten it up again. This time I'll be trying Garnier...I might do a product comparison.

  • haha. I was thinking that next week's Grace Kelly tutorial will be really frustrating w/out those things. I might have to get a somebody else to help me out. :)

  • Excellent interpretation!

  • Your cute smile at beginng is one of a kind! I love how you spread your positivity on your videos! You look so beautiful! I love your hair style too, very elegant just like Ginger Rogers.Rest in Peace.Thank you :) xx

  • that was adorable! you look gorgeous!! as always, my dear!! thanks a bunch!

  • Amazing - as usual.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • I like Bachelor Mother the best.

  • You look so cute dear! And your hair is the same length as mine now :)

  • I love the look! Guapísima!!!

  • ok I know you're probably sick of this question, but I must know the name of that song.

  • The first song is 'It Might as Well Be Spring' by Doris Day (from the musical State Fair) and the second song is There is Nothing Like a Dame from South Pacific. I had some of Ginger Rogers' own music on the video but WMG won't allow their songs on youtube. :)

  • wonderful! although I don't think I could pull off that lip color! I'm so pale and blonde! Ugh!

  • Oooo, blondes look BEST with bright lips! Grace Kelly liked coral lipstick the best...you might try that.

  • yeah I think that would work better for me. I always tried the brightest red which looked strange, but lipstick that is pinkish always looked more natural on me. thanks XD

  • Loving the 4th picture of Ginger Rogers; also I'm loving the way your hair turned out and you look soo cute at the begining of the vid. Can't wait for more!

  • Another great look dawlin, the makeup especially was stunning. Of course you're such a pretty lady anyways, but this was quite fun to watch.....love Ginger, good choice!

  • how long is your hair when it's straight?

  • See my video in the 'Authentic Vintage Hair Techniques' series called 'The Middy Haircut'. It shows my hair straight.

  • awesome thanks! I will do that!

  • I don't think I've mentioned thisI love that you speed up your film, that way we can see your technique without it going over 10 minutes.

I need to practice false eyelashes, I bought glue awhile ago and haven't used it yet. I need to find where I put the glue, lol

  • I highly recommend Monroemisfitmakeup's eyelash tutorial. Also Petrilude did a more detailed one recently. Excellent videos!

  • you're wonderful...love it!

  • First of all, I LOVE Ginger Rogers!

Next, how did you do that hair? What length is it when it's straight? What sort of supplies did you buy to set the curls?

I really want shorter hair so I can curl it like that!

  • if you take a look at the old videos its all there, both how to do pincurls, and her haircut is in one of the newer videos

  • ha! I didnt see that your responded before I did. Thanks! :)

  • See my video in the Authentic Vintage Hair techniques series entitled 'The Middy Haircut' It shows the cut when it's straight. And see my 'Poifect Pin Coils' pincurling video for the supplies that you need for pincurls. Layers are the most important thing.

  • Thanks for sharing .... I am also a big Ginger fan. You could not have chosen a better representative of 40s glamour!

  • I agree! She rocks my world...:)

  • Absolutly wonderful!

  • this was fantastic, thanks again. I always get very excited and inspired after watching your videos. It would have been nice to see how you set your pincurls, though. I wouldn´t mind watching a 20+ min video of yours! BTW- I have been looking for vintage style hats, do you know where I could get reasonably priced ones online?

  • I am amazed that so little effort produces such a stunning result! Thank you for sharing!

  • Ah, it's a bit more effort than it appears I'm afraid. :) The magic of editing! haha

  • thanks soo much love i dont think anyone loves and enjoys ur videos as i do ur amaizng!

  • So sweet. Thanks!

  • Excellent video, and no, I don't think you looked like Judy Garland at all. Honestly, I was thinking more Hedy LaMarr...and that is a compliment. :) She was a stunner. Smart too! Would you post the music credits here, I would love to know what your song choices were this time. HUGS! BTW - I did get my hair cut, found a drawing online, I will try and find where I got it again and send you the link....

  • haha. I should have chosen someone red-headed...but I can't help loving Ginger. :) Thanks!

  • That first pic of Ginger was stunning! Yay for the 1940s episode!! You are seriously amazing! Thanks doll! : )

  • I was thinking I should have done that hairstyle instead! I immediately regretted not doing it and will put it on my to-do list. :)

  • So cute and classy, I really like how that short hair really suits you. I gues your neighbourgs don't recognize you everyday they come across you, they may think many different women life at your home, all taken out of classic movies and vintage calendasrs!!!

  • Spectacular!

  • te ves linda ...... preciosa

    lindo look.

  • Gracias!

  • Love this look

  • Classy and I love the eyes!

  • I love this video but I love all your videos!!

  • BrittBonshor, I hope you see this. I think I accidently clicked 'remove' on your comment instead of 'reply'. haha.
