Friends and I (as kids) had The Monkees records and would wear them out. Love the show when it aired and the music is still some of the best ever. Micky was such a strong voice talent for the group and this song really shows it. Saw them play back in '87 during their 20th Aniv. Reunion Tour, hard to beleive THAT was 20-years ago. Thanks for the post!
I'm looking right at a picture of Davy and I together even as I type this! I'm now 51, and first saw the "Monkees" while living in CT. My friends all loved Davy, but I secretly loved Peter. Oh, Davy now lives just 30 miles up the same road from me, PA Route 522. Never in a million years would I have believed that back then. Talk about weird! This song is one of my all-time favorites.
As manufactured as they were. We're still listening to, and watching them 40 years later! Just shows how a good song is a good song no matter when or how it originated.
i love the monkees...wonder if i'm the youngest to post on here to like the monkees lol became a fan when i was like..10, and the year wasss....2003 i think. anyway, amazing band.
I was young enough to remember the Monkees original broadcasts (6 years old in 1967) but too young to remember the Beatles initial invasion. As a result, the Monkees show and music (along with 'Batman') helped to define my childhood - very fond memories indeed! 'Sometime in the Morning' is a terrific song.
I am listening to this one over and over too-love it.
Oh what a big Monkees fan I was growing up (esp.Davy!)

If you can find the episode this clip is from, you might find it on IMDB, under the Monkees episodes section.
