It's great that the Brits still fly the Chinook to its full potential. I've flown them for 19 years and have done some cool stuff (landings at 18,000') but this shows some of the "sexy" stuff. Our forces have become so risk averse that there hasn't been a demo team on any army helicopter for 20 years. Pip, Pip, Cheerio Lads!
It's got to be the most surreal-looking flying machine ever to enter widespread service, like some aquatic railway carriage with four spindly little wheels underneath. And the crew intercom sounds like a dentist's drill. It's thrilling to see 20 tonnes of hydraulic system get thrown around the sky like that...
whoever disliked gtfo these things are bad ass

I would hate for my eardrums to be there when those rotors slap air LOL
DamienVryce1 11 months ago
rotors are sync'd by a series of drive shafts and gearboxes to ensure they dont hit each other, complicated but essential
beefy070987 1 year ago
How are those rotors not hitting each other? Is it extremely precise timing or is it extremely precise positioning? o.O
KooKas2oo8 1 year ago
@KooKas2oo8
little bit o both.
